If you want another fighting game on PS5 after Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, start with Street Fighter 6 and Tekken 8. Both are confirmed PS5 fighting games, making them useful shortlist candidates. The available official listings do not establish which one plays more like City of the Wolves, or which has easier inputs, stronger online play, or a better solo mode, so choose by checking those features against what you want to play.
Which PS5 fighting games belong on your shortlist?
These two options are verified by official PlayStation listings as fighting games available on PS5. That confirms platform and genre, not a close match in combat feel or features.

What do you like about City of the Wolves?
The right alternative depends on what you want to carry over. SNK describes City of the Wolves as a versus fighting game with a mix of combat options, two input schemes, a progression-focused solo mode, and online features. Those details can help you decide what to check in another game, but they do not by themselves prove that either shortlist game is similar.

If combat systems and inputs matter
SNK describes City of the Wolves’ REV system as including REV Arts, REV Accel and REV Blows, with use limited by a REV Meter that can overheat. It also lists returning systems such as Combination Attacks, Just Defense, Braking, Dodge Attacks, Feints and S.P.G. For inputs, Arcade Style uses precise technical commands; Smart Style uses directional inputs and single-button presses for special moves and combos. These are publisher descriptions, not independent tests of execution difficulty or performance. SNK: Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves
Before choosing another game, check its official feature information for the input options and combat systems you care about. The PlayStation listings above do not support claims that either alternative is easier, harder, faster, or more alike to City of the Wolves.

If you want a substantial solo mode
City of the Wolves includes Episodes of South Town, which SNK describes as a solo RPG mode built around fights with different conditions, XP, leveling and skills. SNK says the mode requires an internet connection and a game update. Check the current feature descriptions for Street Fighter 6 or Tekken 8 if a structured solo experience is a deciding factor; the platform listings cited here do not establish a mode-by-mode comparison.
If online play is your priority
SNK says City of the Wolves supports rollback netcode, cross-platform functionality, and Ranked, Casual and Room matches. These are SNK’s stated capabilities; they are not an independent assessment of online performance. To compare alternatives, verify their current matchmaking features and platform support, then consider whether those match the way you play. The cited PlayStation listings do not establish online quality, population or cross-platform details for either game.

Is City of the Wolves itself still the right choice?
If you have not bought the reference game yet, it remains a PS5 option rather than an alternative. SNK announced its release for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Steam and Epic Games Store on April 24, 2025; PlayStation’s US Store lists PS4 and PS5 versions. SNK: Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves · PlayStation Store: Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves
SNK’s launch announcement described 22 characters at launch: 17 roster members plus five Season Pass 1 DLC fighters, and said an internet connection and update were needed to play all characters. That is a launch-era description, not a current roster count. The current PlayStation product page lists Standard and Legend digital editions, along with Season Pass 1 and Season Pass 2; check the store for the latest contents and character schedules.
