The best dual-monitor setup depends first on whether your computer can drive two displays, then on whether you want a matched pair or a ready-made bundle. RTINGS’ 2026 roundup names the 27-inch 4K Dell U2725QE its premium pick and the 27-inch 4K ASUS ProArt PA279CRV a less expensive alternative; LG’s 27QP88D-B is a purpose-built bundle with two 27-inch QHD displays and an adjustable dual stand. Before choosing, check your computer’s external-display limits and the full cost of the pair, mounts, cables, and any dock you need.
Which kind of dual-monitor setup should you choose?
There are two practical routes: buy two individual monitors, or buy a bundle designed to hold and connect a pair. The choice affects matching, flexibility, setup complexity, and what is included—not just the screen specifications.
Two individual monitors
Buying two units lets you choose a premium main screen and a different secondary display, or select a matched pair for consistent size, resolution, and appearance. A mixed pair can concentrate more of the budget on the display you use most, but scaling, color, and physical alignment may differ. These are practical tradeoffs, not measured performance claims.
Compare the cost of two monitors, not the listed price of one. Also check whether the monitors include stands and the cables you need; a dual arm or a dock may add to the total. For a vertical secondary screen, confirm that its stand or mount supports pivot and that the arrangement fits your desk.

LG’s 27QP88D-B includes two screens and an adjustable dual stand, with configurations for side-by-side, stacked, center-portrait, and pivot use. Verify the exact regional listing: retailer inventory and bundle contents can vary, and the listing should be for the two-display package rather than one screen.

Will your computer support two external monitors?
Check the computer’s specifications before buying. Count its usable video outputs and confirm how many external displays it supports. A USB-C connector does not by itself guarantee video output or daisy-chain support: the port, host hardware, operating system, and monitors must support the intended connection.

- Confirm the computer’s maximum number of external displays.
- Check that each port carries video, and identify its standard and supported resolution and refresh rate.
- For a dock, verify support for two independent displays at the resolution and refresh rate you want. A basic splitter may duplicate one image instead of extending the desktop.
- For daisy chaining, confirm that both the computer and monitor support the required DisplayPort or USB-C display features, and check any operating-system restrictions.
RTINGS says most modern computers and laptops can output two signals when they have two video outputs. If yours has only one usable output, a compatible dock or a supported monitor daisy chain may be an option; neither is universal. LG specifically excludes Apple M1 Macs from the daisy-chain feature on the 27QP88D-B. Compatibility for a particular computer, dock, and pair of monitors must be checked against their specifications.

How should you compare the complete setup?
Use the display pair and its connection path as one purchase decision. A monitor’s attractive specification is not enough if the computer cannot drive it in your intended configuration or the stand does not fit your workspace.
- Total cost: Add the cost of both displays, a stand or arm if needed, required cables, and any compatible dock. Check return terms and warranty for the items you buy.
- Resolution and size: Choose a resolution that suits your work and computer. The LG bundle provides two 27-inch QHD panels; the Dell and ASUS picks are individual 27-inch 4K monitors.
- Matching: Two matching displays make it easier to keep scale and appearance consistent. A mixed pair gives you more freedom to prioritize the primary screen, with possible differences in scaling and color.
- Ports and power: Check the exact video inputs and outputs, USB-C video support, power delivery, and USB hub needs. The ASUS PA279CRV’s cited USB-C power delivery is up to 90W; LG lists up to 65W for its bundle.
- Positioning and mounting: Confirm height, tilt, swivel, and pivot adjustment, plus VESA compatibility, monitor weight, arm limits, and desk-clamp or grommet fit where applicable.
ASUS also lists the VA27UQSB as a 27-inch 4K IPS business monitor with dual HDMI, DisplayPort, a USB hub, and tilt, swivel, pivot, and height adjustment. It is an individual-monitor example of features worth comparing, not a dual-setup pick established by the RTINGS roundup.

How should you position two screens?
Position the displays so you can see the information you use without repeatedly twisting your neck. Dell’s monitor-ergonomics guidance recommends keeping the center of the monitor at normal eye level. For its seated configurations, Dell gives horizontal head movement of 45 degrees as optimum and 60 degrees as a maximum from center. These are Dell’s setup recommendations, not universal clinical thresholds.

Which option is the strongest fit?
Choose the LG 27QP88D-B if you specifically want a bundled pair with an adjustable dual stand and its QHD resolution, connection options, and desk fit suit your setup.
