For a low-cost 27-inch gaming monitor, the right choice depends on whether you value 1440p detail, HDR, or maximum refresh rate. The KTC H27T22C-3 combines 1440p and 210 Hz at a low listed price; the AOC Q27G3XMN is the standout if Mini LED HDR matters; and the AOC C27G4ZXE prioritizes speed at 1080p. These are evidence-backed candidates, not a controlled head-to-head ranking. Prices are those displayed by the cited publishers when reviewed, not live quotes.

Best value 1440p: KTC H27T22C-3
The KTC H27T22C-3 is the clearest fit if you want 1440p sharpness and a high refresh rate without moving into a more expensive class. PC Gamer listed it at $159 / £150 on its page updated October 2, 2026; those are displayed prices, not current retailer quotes. Its listed specification is a 27-inch IPS panel at 2560 × 1440 and 210 Hz, with 1 ms response, FreeSync, and G-Sync Compatible support. PC Gamer’s 2026 gaming monitor guide names it its best budget 1440p gaming monitor.

The compromises are practical: its stand only tilts, it has no USB ports, and HDR is limited. Check whether you need height adjustment or USB connectivity before choosing it; those omissions may matter more day to day than the refresh-rate headline.
#1 Best Overall

Best budget 1440p HDR: AOC Q27G3XMN
Choose the AOC Q27G3XMN if HDR image quality is a priority. RTINGS names it the best budget 27-inch gaming monitor in its 2026 guide and describes its 27-inch 1440p VA LCD as reaching 180 Hz. Its Mini LED backlight delivers good HDR image quality for this price tier, but the trade-off is visible dark-scene smearing in moving content. RTINGS also notes that it lacks HDMI 2.1 bandwidth. RTINGS’ 27-inch gaming monitor recommendations are framed for the US market.
For PC gaming, consider whether your games and settings make the HDR benefit more important than the motion limitation. For a console or other device that needs HDMI 2.1 bandwidth, check the connection requirements rather than assuming the monitor supports them.
Rank #2
- Quality Visuals: The KG271U 27" IPS monitor with 2560 x 1440 QHD resolution in a 16:9 aspect ratio presents stunning, high-quality images with excellent detail. The zero-frame design does away with the thick frames found on conventional monitors freeing up precious screen space.
- AMD FreeSync Technology: Say “goodbye” to stuttering and tearing. With AMD FreeSync, the monitor’s frames are synced with the graphics card’s frames, which eliminates screen tearing and provide the smoothest gaming experience.
- Up to 180Hz: The 180Hz refresh rate speeds up the frames per second to deliver an ultra-smooth 2D motion scene. With a rapid refresh rate of up to 180Hz, Acer Gaming Monitors shorten the time it takes for frame rendering, lower input lag and provide gamers an excellent in-game experience.
- Responsive!!: Up to 0.5ms GTG (Gray to Gray) response time enhanced gamers’ in-game experience. No matter the fast-moving action or any dramatic transitions will be all rendered smoothly without the annoying effects of smearing or ghosting with KG271U Gaming Monitor.
- New Depths of Color Accuracy: is monitor is ideal for color-critical projects producing accurate colors, supporting DCI-P3 95%. An amazing monitor for graphic designers, photographers, and film editors.
Best IPS alternative for motion: Dell Alienware AW2725DM
The Dell Alienware AW2725DM is another 27-inch 1440p, 180 Hz IPS option. RTINGS rates its motion handling very well and says it avoids the dark-scene smearing noted on the Q27G3XMN. It is a sensible value alternative when price and motion matter more than HDR performance.
The trade-offs are low contrast and weaker HDR; RTINGS also reports that local dimming can create halos. If you mostly play fast-moving games and do not prioritize HDR, those drawbacks may be less consequential than the AOC’s dark-scene motion issue. RTINGS’ guide includes its model-level assessment.
Rank #3

Best high-refresh 1080p: AOC Gaming C27G4ZXE
The AOC Gaming C27G4ZXE is aimed at players who put refresh rate ahead of resolution. PC Gamer’s listed specifications are a 27-inch VA panel, 1920 × 1080 resolution, 280 Hz refresh rate, and 1500R curve. The page displayed $175 / £159; these are publisher-displayed prices rather than live quotes. PC Gamer identifies it as its 1080p pick in its 2026 monitor guide. Read PC Gamer’s guide.
At 27 inches, 1080p has lower pixel density than 1440p, so fine detail and text look less sharp. PC Gamer also flags weaker pixel response and poor HDR. This model makes most sense when your budget or graphics hardware makes 1440p less attractive and you specifically want a very high refresh rate.
Rank #4
- 27” QHD IPS DISPLAY: Enjoy stunning detail and vibrant color with a 2560x1440 Quad HD resolution on a 27-inch IPS panel, offering wide viewing angles and precise image quality.

- TILT ADJUSTMENT: Customize your setup with -3° to +21° tilt range for ergonomic positioning.

US-only alternative: AOC Q27G40XMN
RTINGS says the AOC Q27G40XMN has better local dimming than the Q27G3XMN but worse motion handling, and reports that it is available only in the United States. The cited evaluation does not establish enough comparative price information to rank it above the other candidates. Treat it as a regional option to check, not a universally available substitute. RTINGS’ model guide provides the comparison.

How to compare budget 27-inch gaming monitors
Resolution and pixel density
At the same 27-inch screen size, 1440p provides more detail than 1080p. The 1080p C27G4ZXE emphasizes refresh rate instead, accepting lower pixel density. If you work with small text or want sharper game detail, prioritize 1440p; if you have a reason to favor very high refresh over sharpness, 1080p can be a deliberate trade-off.
Best Value
- 27" 1500R Up to 160Hz Curved Gaming Monitor FHD 1920x1080P 1Ms (MPRT) for Gaming, Movie, Working, support with 144Hz, 120Hz(depend on signal source device's hardware).
- Gamer-Centric Features: Game Assistant (Black Level Adjustment(shadow booster), Crosshair, Timer, Counter) | Preset Modes (FPS/RTS/Racing/Office/Movie/SRGB).
- Immersive & Clear Viewing: 1500R curvature reduces image distortion and eyestrain. 160Hz refresh rate, 1ms (MPRT) response time, FreeSync
- Color Control: 4000:1 Contrast Ratio, 300 nits Brightness & 110% sRGB color coverage, Low Blue Light, Anti-Flicker/Anti-Glare, HDR Mode(can be enabled in the OSD menu only when connected via an HDMI port). If color not showing great on games, try to change color setting or just turn on the HDR mode.
- Jacks: HDMI 2.0(160Hz max), DP 1.4(160Hz max), Audio Jack(No Speakers) | VESA 100x100mm | Tilt (-5°~15°±2°).
Refresh rate and actual motion
These candidates span 180 Hz to 280 Hz, but a higher advertised refresh number does not by itself establish better motion clarity. Consider panel response and dark-scene behavior as well: RTINGS notes smearing on the Q27G3XMN, while its assessment of the AW2725DM praises motion handling. Choose based on the kinds of games and scenes you play, not the refresh figure alone.
HDR and local dimming
Mini LED local dimming is the Q27G3XMN’s differentiator for HDR. The AW2725DM is weaker for HDR, and local dimming can produce halos; the Q27G40XMN improves local dimming relative to the Q27G3XMN but has worse motion handling. Entry-level HDR benefits and motion trade-offs can coexist, so weigh both rather than treating an HDR label as a guarantee of an upgrade.
Stand, ports, and device compatibility
- For the KTC, account for its tilt-only stand and lack of USB ports.
- For the AOC Q27G3XMN, confirm your PC or console does not require HDMI 2.1 bandwidth.
- For any model, verify the specific inputs, adjustability, and model suffix on the local listing before ordering.
Price, stock, and regional differences
Prices shown in review guides can change, and regional stock or model suffixes may differ. RTINGS’ recommendations target the US market, while PC Gamer’s guide displays US and UK prices.
