For the fan-made Black Ops 1 Zombies port at vel.gg, use a current 64-bit desktop Chrome, Edge, or Firefox browser, enable WebGL2 hardware acceleration, and allow the browser to store site data. Close memory-heavy apps and tabs before launching. These are the port guide’s recommendations—not official Activision settings or a guarantee of a particular frame rate. The port is an unofficial, solo-only project, not an official Activision browser release. See the project’s setup guide.
First, confirm which Black Ops Zombies experience you mean
The browser settings below apply to the fan-made browser port of the 2010 Call of Duty: Black Ops Zombies experience hosted at vel.gg. Its guide says the port runs in a desktop browser, is solo-only, and is not affiliated with Activision or Treyarch. Its continued availability is not guaranteed.
This is different from official console or PC play, and also different from Xbox Cloud Gaming. Activision Support lists official Black Ops support for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Steam, but that listing does not establish an official browser version. Activision’s Black Ops support page includes a performance troubleshooting article updated June 16, 2026. Nazi Zombies: Portable, also mentioned by the port guide, is a separate open-source remake of World at War Zombies—not this Black Ops 1 port.
Use a desktop browser with WebGL2 and hardware acceleration
The port guide recommends current desktop Chrome, Edge, or Firefox in a 64-bit build. It requires WebGL2 and recommends hardware acceleration so the browser can use the graphics processor. Phones and tablets are unsupported for this port, which requires a computer, keyboard, and mouse. A Chromebook may work if its browser, WebGL2 support, and available memory meet those requirements; the guide does not promise compatibility with every Chromebook.
#1 Best Overall
- HERO Gaming Sensor: Next generation HERO mouse sensor delivers precision tracking up to 25600 DPI with zero smoothing, filtering or acceleration
- 11 programmable buttons and dual mode hyper-fast scroll wheel: The Logitech wired gaming mouse gives you fully customizable control over your gameplay
- Adjustable weights: Match your playing style. Arrange up to five 3.6 g weights for a personalized weight and balance configuration

Turn on hardware acceleration
- Chrome: Open
chrome://settings/system, enable “Use graphics acceleration when available,” then restart the browser. - Edge: Open
edge://settings/system, enable “Use graphics acceleration when available,” then restart the browser. - Firefox: Open Settings → General → Performance, turn off “Use recommended performance settings,” enable hardware acceleration, then restart.
In Chrome, open chrome://gpu and check that WebGL2 is listed as “Hardware accelerated.” If it is not, the port guide recommends enabling acceleration, restarting, and updating the graphics driver. This check does not guarantee that a particular graphics card or driver will perform well.
Reduce memory pressure before loading a map
The guide says the game reserves a 1.5 GiB heap, with additional memory needed for graphics and sound. It does not specify a minimum total system RAM, so the heap figure alone is not a complete device requirement. Close demanding apps and unnecessary tabs, and use a 64-bit browser to reduce the chance of memory errors or stuttering.

- Pentakill, 5 DPI Levels - Geared with 5 redefinable DPI levels (default as: 500/1000/2000/3000/4000), easy to switch between different game needs. Dedicated demand of DPI options between 500-8000 is also available to be processed by software.
- Any Button is Reassignable - 11 programmable buttons are all editable with customizable tactical keybinds in whatever game or work you are engaging. 1 rapid fire + 2 side macro buttons offer you a better gaming and working experience.
- Comfort Grip with Details - The skin-friendly frosted coating is the main comfort grip of the mouse surface, which offers you the most enjoyable fingerprint-free tactility. The left side equipped with rubber texture strengthened the friction and made the mouse easier to control.
- 5 Decent Backlit Modes - Turn the backlit on and make some kills in your gaming battlefield. The hyped dynamic RGB backlit vibe will never let you down when decorating your gaming space, it would be better with other Redragon accessories with lights on.
- Fatigue Killer with Ergonomic Design - Solid frame with a streamlined and general claw-grip design offers a satisfying and comfortable gaming experience with less fatigue even though after hours of use.
The guide says frame-rate dips are most noticeable with large hordes on larger maps; its optional Hell/horde mode can be more demanding than ordinary rounds. If performance drops mainly as a round grows, reducing other memory and GPU workloads is a practical first step, though the guide provides no device-specific benchmark or guaranteed fix.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsAllow browser storage for map caching
The guide says map files are saved in browser storage so later loads are faster. Private windows and strict cookie or site-data settings may block that storage. Use a normal browser window and allow site data for the game. The guide recommends keeping several gigabytes of free space when trying multiple maps; it says individual map downloads are a few hundred megabytes and that five unpacks to about 900 MB. Those figures are the guide’s estimates, not independently measured requirements, and the exact browser storage quota is not stated.

- The next-generation optical HERO sensor delivers incredible performance and up to 10x the power efficiency over previous generations, with 400 IPS precision and up to 12,000 DPI sensitivity
- Ultra-fast LIGHTSPEED wireless technology gives you a lag-free gaming experience, delivering incredible responsiveness and reliability with 1 ms report rate for competition-level performance
- G305 wireless mouse boasts an incredible 250 hours of continuous gameplay on just 1 AA battery; switch to Endurance mode via Logitech G HUB software and extend battery life up to 9 months
- Wireless does not have to mean heavy, G305 lightweight mouse provides high maneuverability coming in at only 3.4 oz thanks to efficient lightweight mechanical design and ultra-efficient battery usage
- The durable, compact design with built-in nano receiver storage makes G305 not just a great portable desktop mouse, but also a great laptop travel companion, use with a gaming laptop and play anywhere
If a storage or quota error appears, remove unneeded site data to free space and try again. Clearing the game’s stored data may also remove cached map files, so a later load can require downloading them again.
Open the game directly and troubleshoot the symptom
| Symptom | Action | What to know |
|---|---|---|
| “Shared memory is unavailable” | Open vel.gg/bo1z directly in its own tab in a current desktop Chrome, Edge, or Firefox window. |
The guide identifies embedded frames and in-app browsers such as those inside Discord, X, or Reddit as unsupported. |
| WebGL2 unavailable or unsupported graphics | Enable hardware acceleration, restart the browser, and update the graphics driver; in Chrome, check chrome://gpu. |
No particular GPU or driver is guaranteed to work. |
| Memory reservation error or stutter | Close other tabs and apps; use a 64-bit browser. | The stated 1.5 GiB heap excludes extra graphics and sound needs; the guide gives no minimum total RAM. |
| Slow repeat loads or storage errors | Allow site data in a normal window, retain free disk space, and clear unneeded site data if storage is full. | The browser’s exact storage quota varies and is not quantified by the guide. |
| Trying to play on a phone or tablet | Use a computer with a keyboard and mouse for this port. | This limitation is specific to the browser port; it does not describe every mobile Zombies game. |
These steps address browser rendering, resources, storage, and loading. They do not establish a universal fix for network latency or connection problems.

Keep official and cloud options separate
For the fan port, the guide describes access through vel.gg as free, but that does not make it an official Activision release or ensure it will remain available. Its solo-only limitation also means it is not a way to play this port with friends.
Activision’s October 14, 2024 article describes Xbox Cloud Gaming access for select Call of Duty games. For the service described there, players need linked Activision and Xbox accounts and an active Game Pass Ultimate subscription; supported controller or mouse-and-keyboard input is required, and touch controls are not supported. The article does not establish that every Call of Duty title is available through cloud gaming. Check current Xbox and Activision listings for the live game, device, and subscription availability before relying on that route. Read Activision’s Xbox Cloud Gaming guidance.
