The Blendtec Classic 575 is the strongest all-around pick in RTINGS’ 2026 frozen-drink guide, particularly for large batches and drinks with fibrous fruit. The other four picks make different trade-offs: the Breville The Q offers an ice program and comparatively quiet operation, two Ninja models bring fast or budget-friendly ice crushing, and the Black+Decker is a quieter option for smaller ice batches.
These are RTINGS’ recommendations, based on its testing of more than 135 blenders; they are not a universal ranking for every recipe or budget. Choose by the amount of ice you blend, whether your drinks include fibrous fruit, and how much manual control, noise, and cleanup you can live with.
How the five picks compare
The ice-crushing scores and specifications below are reported by RTINGS in its frozen-drink guide, updated August 27, 2026. Scores are that publisher’s test results, not a standardized market-wide rating. Jar capacities are reported as listed in the guide; they should not automatically be read as maximum liquid-fill amounts.
| Blender | RTINGS ice-crushing score | Jar capacity | Power | Best fit |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Blendtec Classic 575 | 9.6 | 90 oz | 1,560 W | Large batches and fibrous fruit |
| Breville The Q | 9.6 | 68 oz | 1,800 W | Ice program, larger batches, and quieter operation among these powerful picks |
| Ninja Detect Power Blender Pro | 9.7 | 72 oz | 1,200 W | Fast ice crushing in a large batch |
| Ninja Professional Blender 1000 | 9.5 | 72 oz | 1,000 W | Lower-cost ice crushing with manual pulse control |
| Black+Decker Quiet Blender with Cyclone Glass Jar | 6.6 | 48 oz | 900 W | Quieter blending and small ice batches |
Wattage alone does not predict frozen-drink results. Ice movement around the blades, jar capacity, blade design, and the amount of liquid and other ingredients all matter. The scores above describe RTINGS’ testing, not guaranteed performance with every recipe.

Which blender suits your frozen drinks?
Blendtec Classic 575: best for large batches
RTINGS names the Classic 575 its best blender for frozen drinks. In its review, the blender quickly turned a dozen ice cubes into snow-like ice, blended fibrous fruit smoothly, and did not require stopping to scrape the jar. Its 90 oz jar gives it the largest listed capacity among these five, and the primary jar is easy to clean. The trade-off is noise: RTINGS describes it as loud.
Choose it for a pitcher of margaritas, daiquiris, frozen lemonade, or fruit-based drinks when batch size and smooth blending matter more than a quieter run. The dozen-cube result is a reported review test, not a claim that every recipe or batch will produce the same texture.
Breville The Q: best for an ice program and quieter powerful blending
The Q’s Ice Crush/Auto-Pulse mode produced fluffy, snow-like ice in RTINGS’ review, and fibrous fruit blended smoothly. RTINGS describes it as well-built, comparatively quiet for a blender, and easy to reach into by hand for cleaning. Larger batches work quickly with little intervention.
For small batches, RTINGS found it takes more time and effort than the Blendtec. It is a good fit if you want a dedicated ice setting and value comparatively quiet operation, but do not assume that a small drink will be as effortless as a large pitcher.

Ninja Detect Power Blender Pro: best for fast ice crushing
The Detect Power Blender Pro received the highest ice-crushing score of these five in RTINGS’ guide. Its BlendSense feature can crush a large batch quickly, and the pitcher has a pouring spout. Its main compromise is ingredient texture: fibrous fruit may leave bits, and some slushies may need a second program run. RTINGS also describes it as louder than The Q.
The spiral blades are sharp and awkward to hand-wash, although the components are dishwasher-safe. It suits ice-heavy drinks when speed is a priority and a less even result with fibrous ingredients is acceptable.
Ninja Professional Blender 1000: best for budget-friendly pulse control
RTINGS reports that the Professional Blender 1000’s pulse mode makes snow-like ice. A pouring spout makes serving easier, and the guide describes it as quieter than most blenders, while noting that crushing ice is still loud.

Black+Decker Quiet Blender with Cyclone Glass Jar: best for small ice batches
This is the least capable ice crusher of the five by RTINGS’ score, but the guide reports that it can make bar-quality ice with small batches of about six cubes. It handles fresh fruit more smoothly than the Ninja Professional Blender 1000 and is described as quiet and simple to clean. It includes pulse control and an “Icy Drink” program.
Its 48 oz jar is the smallest listed here. Consider it for quieter fruit drinks and modest ice quantities, not for routinely crushing large batches.
Choose for the ingredients, not just the drink name
A margarita made with ice and syrup or juice presents a different blending challenge from a frozen drink containing pineapple, mango, citrus segments, or other fibrous fruit. For ice-heavy recipes with fibrous ingredients, the RTINGS guide’s reported results favor the Blendtec Classic 575 and Breville The Q for smoothness. The Ninja Detect Power Blender Pro may leave bits, while the Ninja Professional Blender 1000 blends fibrous fruit less uniformly.
If your recipe is mostly ice and liquid, focus on how much ice you blend at once and whether you prefer to manage the texture yourself or use an automatic program. Manual pulse control lets you stop when the ice reaches your preferred consistency; automatic modes reduce hands-on control but may not suit every recipe or batch.

Check capacity and controls before choosing
Do not assume a pitcher’s stated total capacity is the same as its maximum liquid capacity. SharkNinja’s US product page for the Ninja Professional Plus Blender with Auto-iQ, model BN701, lists a 72 oz total pitcher capacity and a 64 oz maximum liquid capacity. That model is useful context for interpreting Ninja capacity labels, but it is a separate product from the Ninja Professional Blender 1000 and Ninja Detect Power Blender Pro listed above.
The BN701 page lists 1,200 operating watts and 1,400 peak watts, three automatic programs including frozen drinks, dishwasher-safe pitcher and blades, and a one-year limited warranty. SharkNinja’s product copy says its Total Crushing Blades give you “perfectly crushed ice” for smoothies, frozen drinks, and ice cream; that is the manufacturer’s claim, not an independent test result. Do not use peak-watt figures to compare real-world blending performance across brands.
For another example of a control trade-off, RTINGS’ ice-crushing guide says the Vitamix Propel 750 crushes ice well but lacks an automatic ice program, so the user must pulse to the desired consistency. Its listed 64 oz capacity, 9.4 ice-crushing score, seven-year warranty, and noise above 98 dB at highest speed are figures and claims from that guide, not measurements or specifications for the five picks in the table.
Account for noise and cleanup
Ice crushing is noisy even on blenders described as quiet. Among these five, RTINGS calls The Q comparatively quiet for a blender and the Black+Decker quiet; it describes the Ninja Detect Power Blender Pro as louder than The Q and the Blendtec as loud. Those descriptions are comparative observations in the guide, not decibel measurements.

- What You Get: Anker 332 USB-C Hub (5-in-1), welcome guide, our worry-free 18-month warranty, and friendly customer service.
For cleanup, The Q’s jar is easy to reach into by hand, and the Blendtec’s primary jar is easy to clean. The Detect Pro’s components are dishwasher-safe, but its sharp spiral blades are awkward to hand-wash. The Ninja Professional 1000’s blade shape and tight spaces complicate cleaning. The Black+Decker is described as simple to clean.
What to verify before buying
- Model identity: Check the exact model name and number on the live listing. Similar Ninja product names do not mean the specifications or programs are interchangeable.
- Batch size: Match the jar to the amount you actually blend, and check whether the stated capacity is total pitcher volume or maximum liquid capacity.
- Current availability and price: Retail stock, pricing, and model status can change. RTINGS says its recommendations account for price, reader feedback, and availability, but those details should be checked again at purchase time.
- Replacement parts: SharkNinja’s BN701 page lists a pitcher and lid (711KKU700), stacked blade assembly (316KKU770), and motor base (XMBBN701) as components or accessories. Verify exact model compatibility before buying a replacement part.
Other models worth considering
RTINGS’ frozen-drink guide also lists the Blendtec Total Blender Classic, Vitamix Propel 750, Vitamix 5200, and Breville Super Q BBL920 as notable alternatives. The guide says the Super Q adds a personal jar and blends small fibrous-fruit batches better than The Q, at a substantially higher price. It describes the Vitamix 5200 as favoring sturdier build and multipurpose thick blends over crushing as much ice at once as the Blendtec. Check current availability before treating any of these as a practical alternative.
In a separate ice-crushing comparison, RTINGS identifies the Vitamix Propel 750 as its top ice-crushing choice and the Braun TriForce Power Pro JB9041BK as an option for users who prefer an automatic Ice Crush program. The guide cautions that ice can catch under the Braun’s blades during its continuous program, requiring a stop and stir. These are comparison-guide findings, not additional picks in the five-model frozen-drink ranking.
