Outside India, PUBG MOBILE is the closest BGMI substitute. Its official Android listing describes the same familiar ingredients: a 100-player Classic Mode, large maps, loot, customizable controls, training and squad voice chat. In India, BGMI is the official local release, so it is the appropriate download rather than a VPN or unofficial APK.
Choose Call of Duty: Mobile if you want battle royale alongside a much broader traditional multiplayer package. Choose Garena Free Fire for short matches and weaker hardware. Fortnite and Blood Strike are better when you specifically want building or hero abilities instead of BGMI’s military pacing.

BGMI is Krafton’s India-specific title; its official website brands it as “India Ka Battlegrounds” and provides direct Google Play and App Store download links. If you are in India and want the officially supported local game, use those store links. Do not rely on a VPN, a modified package or an APK mirror: a sideloaded file can be outdated, altered or incompatible with current account and anti-cheat checks.

The same official site publishes anti-cheat updates and community or esports information, which can matter when you need regional event details or support. Store visibility can still change, so search for the verified publisher listing if a saved link no longer opens.
Outside India: PUBG MOBILE is the nearest match
PUBG MOBILE is the global listing for readers who cannot use BGMI. Its Google Play description calls it the original mobile battle-royale game and documents a Classic Mode for 100 players, multiple maps and modes, customizable controls, a training area and voice chat. That combination preserves the loop most BGMI players are looking for: parachute into a large map, collect equipment, rotate through the shrinking play area and survive to the end.
Regional availability, age rules, content and account policies can change. Check the current official listing in your country instead of assuming that a game available in one region is available in another.

PUBG MOBILE: the closest BGMI replacement
Pick PUBG MOBILE when your priority is familiarity rather than novelty. The interface, looting rhythm, map-based rotations and squad communication are close enough that a BGMI player can transfer habits without learning an entirely different genre. The listing’s customizable controls let you move buttons and adjust the layout, while training mode provides a safer place to tune sensitivity before entering a live match.

Choose this game if you want a military shooter with more mode variety than BGMI. Avoid it if your only goal is to reproduce BGMI’s slower looting and positioning loop; the additional modes and more arcade-like handling make it a different package. Because maps, weapons and seasonal content can change, check the current in-game download requirements after the first launch.
Garena Free Fire: practical on weaker phones and busy schedules
Pocket Gamer describes Free Fire as a 50-player battle royale on Bermuda with matches around 10 minutes long. That smaller field and short session length make it a practical recommendation when you have limited play time or a phone that struggles with larger, heavier games. The game became popular in part because of low system requirements and frequent partnerships.
Free Fire does not try to feel like a direct BGMI simulation. A player moving from BGMI should therefore expect a learning adjustment even though both games use the last-player-standing structure.

Blood Strike: compact maps and hero abilities
Blood Strike is the choice for players who want a more aggressive, ability-driven battle royale. How to choose by use case
You want the nearest possible BGMI experience
Start with PUBG MOBILE if you are outside India. In India, start with BGMI itself. Both choices keep the large-map, loot-and-rotation formula that defines the request. Select another game only when a hardware, regional or style requirement rules them out.
You want battle royale plus team deathmatch-style play

Availability is volatile. By 2026, Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile was reported as delisted with its servers shut down, and Apex Legends Mobile had shut down earlier. Do not install either from an unofficial file or repeat an old recommendation without checking the publisher’s current announcement and your regional store. A title that appears in an old video or search result may no longer accept new players.

Use BGMI in India and PUBG MOBILE elsewhere when similarity is the priority.
