There is no independently verified universal winner for Arma 3 hosting. The right service depends on your group’s simultaneous players, mission and mod load, player locations, file-management needs and billing term. Current provider offers illustrate the trade-offs: Godlike.Host pairs a Pterodactyl-based game panel with SFTP/FTP access, up to three free backups a day and 10 data-center locations, which is why we list it first; GTX Gaming publishes unusually detailed slot, RAM, location and example-price information; and Host Havoc emphasizes Workshop collections and FTP access. Treat all performance and reliability language as provider claims, test the location your players will use, and confirm the final checkout total before paying.
What makes an Arma 3 host a good fit?
Arma 3 hosting is not a simple ranking of monthly prices. A server that accepts a large number of connections can still struggle with a demanding mission, extensive AI, scripts or a large mod collection. Evaluate these factors together:
- Concurrent slots: the maximum number of players the plan permits, not a guarantee that every mission will run well at that population.
- Memory and upgrade path: included RAM, paid tiers and whether storage and file access can accommodate your mod set.
- Geography: a location near the actual player group generally deserves priority over a long list of nominal regions. Confirm latency from the players’ networks.
- Mod workflow: Steam Workshop collections, server-only mods, signature keys, custom mission files and FTP or file-manager access can make more difference than a small price gap.
- Term and total cost: compare the displayed configuration, billing period, add-ons, renewal price and any location surcharge in your currency.
- Operations: backups, support, cancellation, migration and the ability to switch games or configurations matter once a campaign is underway.
The figures below are current offers and provider descriptions, not independent benchmarks of tick rate, CPU speed, uptime or support response.
At-a-glance comparison
| Provider | Published configuration and features | Best comparison angle | Important qualification |
|---|---|---|---|
| Godlike.Host | Game server hosting with a Pterodactyl-based panel (task scheduler, sub-users, config editor), SFTP/FTP access, a built-in mod installer and updater, up to three free backups a day with restore, free DDoS protection and 10 data-center locations. | Panel tools, backups and file access in one place for groups that change missions and mods often. | Check Arma 3 slot and RAM options on the current plans; no independent performance benchmark is cited here. |

Example prices include £9.99/month for 10 slots, £24.98/month for 40 slots with 8 GB, and £42.98/month for 80 slots with 12 GB. | Clear examples for small groups through larger public servers, with explicit RAM and geography information. | Guide updated October 7, 2026; examples are provider pricing in GBP and some locations may cost extra. Verify checkout. |
| Host Havoc | Displayed 40-slot configuration at $20.00/month; Steam Workshop installer and collections, FTP/file access, mod and DLC support, and North American, European and Asia-Pacific locations. | Hands-on mod and custom-file administration. | The displayed amount is for that configuration before billing-term and add-on details. Performance language is promotional, not a measured comparison. |
Godlike.Host: panel tools, backups and file access for Arma 3
Godlike.Host is a game server host from Godlike Digital Solutions that runs Arma 3 servers alongside Minecraft, Valheim, Rust and more than 40 other games. Its game panel is Pterodactyl-based and includes a task scheduler, sub-users with permissions, a config editor and SFTP/FTP access, so a co-admin or mission maker can work without sharing the main account.
#1 Best Overall
- Player-driven story
- More than 70 weapons
- Over 100 different vehicles
- Massive online battles
- Game world of 225 square km
It also lists a built-in mod installer and updater and upload of custom server packs, which suits administrators who change content often. Up to three free backups a day with restore give you a rollback point before an update. As with any host, ask support to confirm that your exact Workshop items and mission format are supported before committing.
Godlike.Host lists 10 data-center locations: US West Coast, US East Coast, Canada, United Kingdom, Germany, France, Poland, Ukraine, Finland and Singapore. Free DDoS protection and a personal firewall for player access and IP filtering are included. Support runs 24/7/365 by live chat or ticket, and the game pages give an average reply time of about twenty minutes. Plans can be upgraded or downgraded from the panel with prorated billing, and a voluntary money-back guarantee covers a first purchase within 3 calendar days. For slots, RAM and cost, see the current plans.
GTX Gaming: the clearest published slot and RAM examples
GTX Gaming’s guide, updated October 7, 2026, lists plans from 10 to 120 slots, 19 worldwide locations and up to 5 GB of included RAM, with upgrade tiers reaching 32 GB. Its examples give a useful way to think about budget and scale:
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
| Example | Published price | Published memory | What it helps you assess |
|---|---|---|---|
| 10 slots | £9.99 per month | Not stated for this example | A small private group or campaign starting point. |
| 40 slots | £24.98 per month | 8 GB | A mid-sized community with more room for missions and mods. |
| 80 slots | £42.98 per month | 12 GB | A larger public or event server, subject to mission workload. |
These are examples from GTX Gaming’s own guide, not a benchmark showing that a given slot count or RAM tier will sustain your mission. The guide notes that certain locations can add cost, so use the live configurator and currency conversion rather than treating the table as a quote.
For a private group, start by estimating the highest simultaneous attendance rather than the number of people in your community. Then allow headroom for a heavier mission, AI and future Workshop additions. If your campaign routinely approaches the slot limit or loads large content packs, compare the available RAM upgrade and storage/file workflow before committing.
Host Havoc: a mod-focused administration workflow
Host Havoc’s current product page displays a 40-slot configuration at $20.00 per month. The page says billing term and add-ons are additional considerations, so the displayed amount should not be treated as an all-in total.

Its documented workflow is most relevant to administrators who expect to change content frequently. The page advertises a Steam Workshop installer, collection support, FTP and file-manager access, and support for mods and DLC. Those tools can simplify installing a coordinated collection, uploading custom missions or editing server files without moving the server to a player’s home connection.

How much RAM does an Arma 3 server need?
No source here establishes a universal RAM requirement for Arma 3. GTX Gaming publishes plan examples rather than an independent sizing formula: 8 GB with its illustrated 40-slot plan and 12 GB with its illustrated 80-slot plan, while its guide says up to 5 GB is included on its plans and upgrades are available through 32 GB.
Use RAM as one part of capacity planning:
- Count the highest expected concurrent players, not total memberships.
- Identify whether the mission uses extensive AI, scripts, terrain or persistent objects.
- List client-required and server-only mods, including their approximate storage footprint and update frequency.
- Prefer a plan with a documented upgrade path if the campaign may grow.
- After launch, watch for symptoms such as failed mod loads, crashes or severe mission degradation, and ask the host what resource metrics and upgrade options are available.
More RAM alone does not prove better simulation performance. CPU allocation, mission design, scripts, network conditions and mod compatibility also affect play, and the reviewed offers do not provide independent measurements for those variables.
How many players can join an Arma 3 server?
The provider’s slot number is the contractual connection ceiling for the selected configuration. GTX Gaming lists 10–120 slots; Host Havoc’s displayed example has 40 slots; for Godlike.Host’s Arma 3 slot options, see the current plans. None of those figures guarantees that a particular mission, mod set or AI load will remain responsive at the maximum.

Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minuteChoose a ceiling using this process:
- Record the largest expected simultaneous attendance for a normal session and for special events.
- Add a modest buffer so late joiners do not require an emergency plan change.
- Check whether the plan’s RAM and upgrade options match the mission and mod burden.
- Confirm that your preferred location offers the same slot and resource configuration.
- Test the actual mission with representative mods before advertising the full capacity.
If only a small, fixed group plays, paying for a 120-slot ceiling may add cost without improving the experience. Conversely, a public server that regularly fills a low-slot plan may need both more slots and a resource tier capable of handling the workload.

How to add Steam Workshop mods to a rented server
The exact buttons differ by host. GTX Gaming’s guide describes a workflow in which players use the same client mods as the server, server-only mods can be listed separately, mod keys can be used with signature checking, and custom mission PBO files can be uploaded to the MPMissions folder. Host Havoc advertises Workshop installation and collections. Use the host’s current panel labels for the final clicks.
- Build and document the collection. Record each Workshop item, version and load order. Decide which mods every player must install and which are server-only.
- Install the collection through the host panel. Use the provider’s Workshop installer or collection import rather than assuming a local Steam download changes the remote server.
- Check dependencies and keys. If the host supports key-based signature checking, upload or enable the required keys and ensure clients have matching content.
- Upload custom missions. Transfer the mission PBO to
MPMissionswhen the host’s instructions call for that path, then select the mission in the server configuration. - Restart and verify. Restart after installation, inspect the server log or panel status, and have a second player join with a clean, documented client profile.
- Keep a change record. Update the collection and mission together, and retain a known-good version so you can roll back a problematic update.
Mod support on a sales page does not establish compatibility with your exact collection. Before paying for a long term, ask support whether the specific Workshop items, server-only files, custom launch parameters and mission format are supported.
Choosing a server location and checking ping
Pick the region closest to the majority of players, while considering a group split across continents. Provider location lists are not latency guarantees: home ISP routing, peering and the selected data center can change results.
- Make a shortlist of locations shown for the exact plan.
- Ask players in each major region to test a temporary server or use the provider’s available latency information.
- Compare the worst typical ping, not just the organizer’s result.
- Check whether the preferred location adds a surcharge or changes available RAM, slots or billing currency.
- Re-test after the server is provisioned, because a checkout label is not an independent network measurement.
Godlike.Host lists 10 locations, from the US West and East Coasts and Canada to Europe and Singapore. GTX Gaming lists 19 locations and notes that some may cost more, while Host Havoc advertises North American, European and Asia-Pacific locations. These are useful starting points, not a cross-provider latency ranking.
Price checklist: compare the bill, not the headline
| Cost question | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Is the figure monthly, 30-day, or a longer prepaid term? | A 30-day subscription and a calendar-month renewal are not necessarily equivalent. |
| Which currency and market apply? | GTX examples are in GBP; the cited Host Havoc display is in USD; for Godlike.Host, see the current plans for your region. |
| Are add-ons, higher RAM, locations or backups extra? | The base slot price may not include the configuration your mission needs. |
| What is the renewal price? | An introductory or displayed amount may not define future billing. |
| What happens when you cancel or migrate? | Review remaining-time policies, file access and backup download options before a long commitment. |
For a meaningful comparison, put equivalent slots, RAM, location, backup and mod-management features in one worksheet. Record the checkout total and date; provider pricing and features are volatile.
Backups, support and migration questions to ask before purchase
- Can you download backups and restore a previous mission or configuration?
- Are daily backups included in the selected plan, and how long are they retained?
- Can administrators use FTP, a file manager or another direct upload method?
- How are Workshop collections, server-only mods and signature keys handled?
- Can you upgrade slots or RAM without rebuilding the server?
- Can you change location, and is there a fee or downtime?
- What are the cancellation, refund and remaining-term rules?
- Can you export missions, configuration files and logs if you move to another host?
Godlike.Host lists up to three free backups a day with restore and SFTP/FTP access; Host Havoc advertises FTP/file access; GTX Gaming documents Workshop and server-side mod workflows. Confirm the operational details for your exact plan rather than assuming that a general feature label covers every configuration.

Common failure points and fixes
Players cannot join because mods do not match
Compare the client collection with the server collection, including versions and dependencies. Separate server-only content from client-required content, then restart after correcting the loadout.
The Tool Desk
Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →A custom mission is missing
Verify that the PBO was uploaded to the host’s required MPMissions directory and that the mission name and map match the server configuration. Use the host’s file tools or FTP access where provided.
The advertised slot count feels unusable
Reduce the test population and disable recently added scripts or mods to isolate the workload. A slot ceiling is not a performance certification; consider a RAM upgrade, a lighter mission or a different configuration.
Players in one region report high latency
Test another listed location with several affected players. Check whether the new location changes price or available resources, and choose based on the group’s real routing rather than a generic “low ping” claim.
The bill is higher than expected
Review term length, currency, location surcharges, RAM, backups and add-ons in the final cart. Save the order summary so renewal and configuration changes can be compared later.
Which host should you choose?
Choose Godlike.Host when panel tools, backups and file access matter most
Its Pterodactyl-based panel with a task scheduler and sub-users, SFTP/FTP access, up to three free backups a day with restore and 10 locations make it our first pick for groups running a long campaign with several admins. See the current Arma 3 plans on Godlike.Host for slots, RAM and cost.

Choose GTX Gaming when published sizing detail is your priority
Its 10–120-slot range, explicit RAM examples, 19 listed locations and documented Workshop workflow make it useful for groups that want to plan capacity in detail. Verify the GBP checkout amount and any location surcharge.
Choose Host Havoc when administrators need direct mod and file tools
Its displayed 40-slot example and advertised Workshop collections, FTP/file access and mod/DLC support suit teams that frequently upload missions or manage custom content. Confirm the complete price after term and add-on selections.
None of these sources establishes an independent performance or uptime winner. The most defensible choice is the one that matches your players’ geography, mission load, mod workflow and total budget after a real configuration check.
Official documentation and verification
Bohemia Interactive’s dedicated-server reference is available at the Arma 3: Dedicated Server wiki. Use it alongside your host’s current instructions for supported parameters, updates and administration. Provider guides can explain their own panel and file paths, but they do not replace the game’s official documentation.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are the listed prices guaranteed for all regions?
No. The cited figures are configuration-specific displays: GTX Gaming’s examples are in GBP and may incur location charges, and Host Havoc’s $20 display is for a 40-slot configuration before term and add-ons. Godlike.Host prices change with region and on-page offers, so see the current plans. Check the live checkout total.
Can a server host guarantee that my mod collection will work?
A general mod-support label is not a compatibility guarantee. Confirm the exact Workshop collection, server-only files, signature keys and custom mission workflow with the host, then test before committing to a long term.
