The Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 is the closest compact premium alternative to the ASUS Pad, while the OnePlus Pad 3 is the better fit for a larger, high-performance screen. Choose the Lenovo Tab Plus Gen 2 for travel entertainment and unusually strong built-in audio, or move up to the Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra when you need a very large DeX-style workspace. None is a universal substitute: the ASUS Pad combines a 12.2-inch 144Hz dual-layer OLED panel, microSD expansion and a relatively light 523g body, so the right replacement depends on screen size, workload, storage and local availability.
At a glance: which ASUS Pad alternative fits you?
| Tablet | Best for | Published specifications and strengths | Main trade-off |
|---|---|---|---|
| Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 | A more compact premium Android tablet, handwriting and productivity | 11-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X, 2560 × 1600, 120Hz adaptive refresh; S Pen included according to Android Central; DeX support | Smaller display and lower listed refresh rate than the ASUS Pad |
| OnePlus Pad 3 | Large-screen performance and smooth scrolling | 13.2-inch display, 144Hz, Snapdragon 8 Elite, Android 15/ColorOS 15, 256GB or 512GB storage | No microSD slot; optional keyboard costs extra; availability and support in some regions need verification |
| Lenovo Tab Plus Gen 2 | Streaming, music and travel | Recommended by Tom’s Guide for Android entertainment and travel; its large speaker system outperformed several tablets in that guide | Large speaker can make the tablet awkward to hold; Dimensity 7400 with 8GB is not aimed at heavy multitasking |
| Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra | Maximum workspace, media canvas and DeX-style laptop replacement | 14.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X, 2960 × 1848, 120Hz | Far larger than the 12.2-inch ASUS Pad, so it is less portable and not a close size match |

What the ASUS Pad sets as the baseline
ASUS announced the ASUS Pad (T3201) on June 2, 2026, describing it as the company’s return to tablets after several years. It runs Android 16 and uses a 12.2-inch dual-layer OLED panel. ASUS lists a 523g weight and 6.5mm chassis, placing it between compact 11-inch tablets and oversized 14-inch models in physical size.

ASUS India specifies a 2.8K resolution, 144Hz refresh rate, peak brightness of up to 2,000 nits and 100% DCI-P3 coverage. Those figures make the display suitable for high-frame-rate games, fast scrolling and HDR-oriented video, although peak brightness is a maximum specification rather than a guarantee of sustained full-screen brightness in every mode.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S11: the compact premium alternative
The Galaxy Tab S11 is the most natural alternative when the ASUS Pad’s 12.2-inch footprint feels too large. Samsung’s US comparison page lists an 11-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with 2560 × 1600 resolution and a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. That is still a high-end panel, but it gives you less canvas and a lower maximum refresh rate than the ASUS Pad’s listed 12.2-inch 144Hz OLED display.
Recommended Free Tools
Why choose the Tab S11
- Portability: an 11-inch tablet is easier to use one-handed, fit in a smaller bag and hold for reading.
- Handwriting: Android Central’s guide says the S Pen is included, so note-taking does not depend on finding a separate stylus bundle.
- Productivity: the same guide notes Samsung DeX support, which provides a desktop-style interface for windows, keyboard and mouse workflows.
- Display quality: Dynamic AMOLED 2X is designed for vivid contrast and smooth motion, with 120Hz adaptive refresh for an efficient balance between responsiveness and battery use.
Where the ASUS Pad remains stronger
The ASUS Pad offers a larger 12.2-inch viewing area, a listed 144Hz refresh rate and microSD expansion. If you keep a large offline video or photo library, confirm whether the exact Tab S11 configuration you are considering offers the storage and expansion you need. Samsung’s US specifications should not be assumed to apply unchanged in another country; check the local comparison listing and package contents.
Choose the Tab S11 when compact size, included pen support and Samsung’s productivity ecosystem matter more than maximum panel area. Choose the ASUS Pad when the larger OLED canvas, 144Hz specification and expandable storage are the deciding factors.

OnePlus Pad 3: the large, fast performance option
The OnePlus Pad 3 moves in the opposite direction from the Tab S11. TechRadar lists a 13.2-inch display with a 144Hz refresh rate, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite, Android 15 with ColorOS 15 and 256GB or 512GB storage options. Its screen is larger than the ASUS Pad’s 12.2 inches while retaining the same published 144Hz refresh figure.
Why it suits demanding use
- Processing headroom: Snapdragon 8 Elite is a flagship-class platform on paper and is the most performance-oriented chipset named in this comparison. Actual game frame rates, sustained performance and heat depend on software, thermal limits and the specific title, so do not treat the chipset name as a benchmark result.
- Large workspace: the 13.2-inch panel gives split-screen apps, spreadsheets and drawing tools more room than an 11-inch tablet.
- Fast motion: the 144Hz specification is useful for scrolling and games that support high frame rates.
- Storage tiers: 256GB and 512GB options reduce the need for removable storage if you select enough capacity at purchase.
Important compromises
TechRadar says the OnePlus Pad 3 has no microSD slot. Storage is therefore fixed after purchase, making the 512GB version more relevant if you download large games, video or creative projects. Its optional keyboard adds cost, whereas ASUS lists a protective case in the box for the ASUS Pad.
TechRadar’s guide also reports that OnePlus has left the US and Europe. That statement makes local availability, warranty handling, cellular compatibility and software-update access essential checks rather than assumptions. A model imported from another market can have different charger, keyboard layout, service coverage or return terms.
Consider the OnePlus Pad 3 if you want the largest performance-focused screen among the close alternatives and can live without microSD. Verify stock and support in your country through a current local listing; the guide’s specifications are at TechRadar’s 2026 Android tablet guide.

Lenovo Tab Plus Gen 2: the entertainment and travel choice
Tom’s Guide recommends the Lenovo Tab Plus Gen 2 for Android entertainment and travel, particularly because its audio outperformed several other tablets in that guide. That makes it a different kind of ASUS Pad alternative: the priority is watching and listening, not matching the ASUS Pad’s premium OLED and high-refresh specifications.
Reasons to pick it
- Audio-first design: the large speaker system is the standout feature identified by Tom’s Guide, useful for hotel rooms, kitchens and casual group viewing.
- Travel entertainment: a tablet built around strong sound can be more satisfying for streaming when you do not want to carry external speakers.
- Clear role: it is easier to justify when media consumption is your main task and advanced productivity is secondary.
Reasons to look elsewhere
Tom’s Guide says the large speaker can make the tablet awkward to hold. It also identifies a Dimensity 7400 and 8GB configuration as unsuitable for its productivity or heavy-multitasking pick. If you regularly edit large documents, run several demanding apps side by side or play intensive games, the ASUS Pad, Tab S11 or OnePlus Pad 3 is a more appropriate starting point.
The Lenovo is best understood as an audio-centric travel tablet, not a direct specification replacement. Read the current evaluation at Tom’s Guide’s tablet guide, then check the exact screen, storage, software version and regional warranty before buying.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra: when you need a much larger canvas
The Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra is a size-class alternative rather than a like-for-like ASUS Pad replacement. Samsung’s US comparison page lists a 14.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with 2960 × 1848 resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. Android Central describes the size as suitable for DeX-style laptop-replacement use.
What the extra size enables
- Desktop-style layouts: wide documents, timelines, code editors and multiple app windows are easier to view without constant resizing.
- Creative work: a 14.6-inch canvas is more comfortable for illustration, annotation and video editing than an 11-inch model.
- Media viewing: the large AMOLED panel is well suited to films and split-screen viewing from a desk or stand.
Why it is not the portable match
The Ultra is 2.4 inches larger diagonally than the ASUS Pad. That difference affects bag space, two-handed use and the practicality of reading while standing. A 14.6-inch tablet can replace some laptop tasks on a desk, but it is a poor choice if you expect to hold the device for long periods or use it in cramped travel seating.

Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. How to choose between these tablets
1. Start with the job, not the processor name
Write down your primary activity before comparing benchmark claims. Streaming and travel point toward the Lenovo Tab Plus Gen 2. Handwriting and compact productivity favor the Galaxy Tab S11. Games, high-refresh scrolling and demanding multitasking make the OnePlus Pad 3 or ASUS Pad more relevant. A desk-bound, laptop-like workflow can justify the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra.
2. Match screen size to how you hold the tablet
An 11-inch tablet is the easiest to carry and hold. The ASUS Pad’s 12.2 inches gives more room without reaching Ultra dimensions. The OnePlus Pad 3’s 13.2 inches is better for split-screen work but less convenient in one hand. The S11 Ultra’s 14.6 inches is a stationary workspace first. Measure your bag and preferred case before deciding; diagonal size alone does not reveal the effect of bezels and accessories.
3. Compare panel and motion specifications carefully
The ASUS Pad is listed with dual-layer OLED, 2.8K resolution, 144Hz and up to 2,000 nits peak brightness. The Tab S11 uses an 11-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel at 2560 × 1600 and 120Hz adaptive refresh. The OnePlus Pad 3 is listed at 13.2 inches and 144Hz. The S11 Ultra is listed at 14.6 inches, 2960 × 1848 and 120Hz. These numbers describe different sizes and technologies; a higher refresh rate does not automatically mean better color, battery life or gaming performance.
4. Check storage expansion before choosing capacity
The ASUS Pad lists microSD expansion, which lets you add removable capacity for media and documents. TechRadar says the OnePlus Pad 3 has no microSD slot, so choose 256GB or 512GB based on your expected library rather than assuming you can expand later. For every Samsung or Lenovo configuration, verify the exact local model’s storage and expansion specification before payment.
Best Value
- Do what you love, uninterrupted — 25% faster performance than the previous generation and is ideal for seamless streaming, reading, and gaming.
- High-def entertainment — A 10.1" 1080p Full HD display brings brilliant color to all your shows and games. Binge watch longer with 13-hour battery, 3 or 4 GB RAM, 32 or 64 GB of storage, and up to 1 TB expandable storage with micro-SD card (sold separately).
- Thin, light, durable — Tap into entertainment from anywhere with a lightweight, durable design and strengthened glass made from aluminosilicate glass. As measured in a tumble test, Fire HD 10 is 2.7 times as durable as the Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 (2022).
- Stay up to speed — Use the 5 MP front-facing camera to Zoom with family and friends, or create content for social apps like Instagram and TikTok.
- Ready when inspiration strikes — With 4,096 levels of pressure sensitivity, the Made for Amazon Stylus Pen (sold separately) offers a natural writing experience that responds to your handwriting. Use it to write, sketch in apps like OneNote, and more.
5. Price the complete setup
Tablet prices do not tell the whole cost. ASUS lists the case as included, while ASUS Pen 2.0 and a Bluetooth keyboard are optional; stylus bundling varies by territory. The OnePlus Pad 3’s optional keyboard adds cost. Samsung’s included S Pen claim comes from Android Central’s guide, but package contents can change by market. Add the keyboard, pen, stand, charger and protection you actually need, then compare the total rather than the tablet-only price.
6. Treat software support and availability as local questions
The available material does not establish a directly comparable update-duration policy for all four alternatives. Check each manufacturer’s current regional support page, model number and carrier or retailer listing. Confirm the operating-system version, update promise, language support, repair route and return window. Availability can change quickly, particularly for imported OnePlus models and newly launched ASUS hardware.
Decision paths for common buyers
For streaming, music and travel
- Choose the Lenovo Tab Plus Gen 2 if built-in audio is your overriding priority and you accept its awkward speaker-led handling.
- Choose the ASUS Pad if you want a more premium OLED specification, high refresh rate and microSD expansion in a 12.2-inch body.
- Choose the Galaxy Tab S11 if lower carrying weight and compact handling matter more than screen area.
For handwriting, study and meetings
- Start with the Galaxy Tab S11 because Android Central reports that the S Pen is included.
- Compare the ASUS Pad if its 12.2-inch panel gives you more comfortable document and PDF space; verify the local Pen 2.0 bundle because the stylus is optional in ASUS’s description.
- Consider the S11 Ultra only if you annotate at a desk and can carry a 14.6-inch device comfortably.
For gaming and demanding apps
- Compare the OnePlus Pad 3 and ASUS Pad first: both are listed with 144Hz displays, while the OnePlus model names Snapdragon 8 Elite and the ASUS model names Dimensity 8300.
- Check independent testing for the specific games and sustained workloads you use; specifications alone do not establish frame rates or thermal behavior.
- Choose storage carefully because the OnePlus Pad 3 has no microSD slot, while ASUS lists expansion.
For keyboard-based work
- Look at the Galaxy Tab S11 and S11 Ultra if Samsung DeX-style multitasking is central to your workflow.
- Use the 12.2-inch ASUS Pad as the middle ground when you want more workspace than an 11-inch tablet without moving to Ultra size.
- Include keyboard and case pricing in the final comparison; ASUS’s case is listed as included, while keyboards are optional accessories.

- Verify warranty territory, authorized repair availability and return conditions.
- Confirm the charger type, keyboard layout and cellular or Wi‑Fi configuration if relevant.
- List every included accessory in the retailer’s box contents; do not assume a stylus or keyboard is bundled.
- Check microSD support and maximum practical storage before downloading media or games.
- Review the current software version and the manufacturer’s regional update policy.
- Compare the tablet, case, pen, keyboard and stand as one system rather than selecting on headline price.
Bottom line: the best alternative depends on the compromise you accept
Buy the Galaxy Tab S11 for the most portable premium experience with reported included S Pen support and DeX. Buy the OnePlus Pad 3 for a larger 13.2-inch, 144Hz screen and the strongest named performance platform, provided local availability and fixed storage work for you. Pick the Lenovo Tab Plus Gen 2 when entertainment audio and travel are more important than heavy multitasking. Choose the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra only when a 14.6-inch workspace is worth the added size. The ASUS Pad itself remains the balanced 12.2-inch option when OLED quality, 144Hz motion, microSD expansion and a 523g chassis matter together.
