For most Android buyers seeking a book-style foldable, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 is the strongest all-around choice among the reviewed models in the available sources. If you want a compact flip phone, consider the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 or the lower-cost Motorola Razr 2025; Tom’s Guide’s battery test also makes the Motorola Razr Ultra 2026 worth a look for endurance. These are recommendations attributed to published reviews, not phones I personally tested. Newer Samsung models have been announced, but an announcement alone does not establish how they perform in independent testing.
The right pick depends first on the form factor: book-style phones open into a larger workspace, while clamshells fold into a smaller phone. Prices, availability, warranty and repair access vary by country and seller, so check the exact model and local terms before buying.
Which Android foldable suits you?
| Phone | Form factor | Best fit | Published evidence and trade-off |
|---|---|---|---|
| Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 | Book-style | A larger screen for reading, multitasking and general productivity | Android Authority names it its overall foldable pick; TechRadar praises its camera capability and thin, light design, while noting its high price and lack of S Pen support. |
| Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold | Book-style | Buyers prioritizing the display, camera, battery and Google AI features | Tom’s Guide describes those areas positively, but notes performance and AI limitations. |
| Motorola Razr Ultra 2026 | Clamshell | A flip phone with a strong result in a published battery-drain test | Tom’s Guide measured 16 hours 20 minutes in its test. That is an outlet-specific result, not a promise of everyday runtime. |
| Motorola Razr 2025 | Clamshell | A lower-cost entry into foldables | Tom’s Guide positions it as a lower-cost option and notes shorter software support as a drawback. Check the current price and exact support terms. |
| Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 | Clamshell | A compact flip format with a useful cover screen | TechRadar highlights the cover screen and compact design, while noting battery and dust-resistance limitations. |
| OPPO Find N6 | Book-style | Buyers in a market where OPPO officially sells and supports it | Digital Camera World reported that it was not officially sold in the US, UK or Europe at the time of its update; import buyers could lose warranty support. Confirm current regional sales and service. |
Book-style foldables: choose a larger workspace
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7
Among the reviewed options, the Z Fold 7 is the clearest general-purpose recommendation if you will regularly use the inner screen. TechRadar lists an 8-inch inner display, a 6.5-inch cover display, a 4,400mAh battery and Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy. Those specifications describe the hardware, not battery life: capacity alone does not tell you how long the phone lasts in use.
TechRadar praises its camera capability and thin, light design, while Android Authority names it its overall foldable pick. The trade-offs are its high price and lack of S Pen support, according to TechRadar. It may suit someone who wants a large screen without carrying a tablet, but it is less compelling if you need stylus input or want to minimize purchase cost.

Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold
Tom’s Guide lists an 8-inch main display, a 6.4-inch secondary display and Google’s Tensor G5. Its review speaks positively about the display, camera, battery, water and dust resistance, and AI features, while also noting performance and AI limitations. Treat this as a distinct alternative rather than assuming that the word “Fold” makes its day-to-day behavior identical to Samsung’s.
OPPO Find N6 and regional availability
Regional access can outweigh a hardware comparison. Digital Camera World reported that OPPO did not officially sell the Find N6 in the US, UK or Europe at the time of its update and warned that importing could mean forfeiting warranty support. That information is time-sensitive; check OPPO’s current sales channels, warranty coverage and repair service in your country before considering an import.

Clamshell foldables: choose compactness
Motorola Razr Ultra 2026
For a flip phone, the most concrete comparative battery evidence here comes from Tom’s Guide: its battery-drain test recorded 16 hours 20 minutes for the Razr Ultra 2026 and 14 hours 44 minutes for the Motorola Razr Fold. The figures reflect that publication’s test protocol; they are not guaranteed real-world runtimes and should not be treated as a universal result across different settings or usage.

Motorola Razr 2025
Tom’s Guide presents this as a lower-cost foldable and lists a 6.9-inch main screen, a 3.6-inch outer screen, MediaTek Dimensity 7400X and an 8GB/256GB configuration. Its shorter software support is a reported drawback. Check the current price and the support commitment that applies to the exact model sold in your market before buying.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7
TechRadar lists a 6.9-inch inner display and a 4.1-inch outer display. It highlights the cover screen and compact flip format, while noting battery and dust-resistance limitations. A clamshell can be appealing if pocketability matters more than having a tablet-sized workspace; the smaller folded shape does not remove the need to consider endurance or protection.

Screen utility and app behavior
For book-style models, consider whether you will actually use the open display for split-screen tasks, reading or other larger-screen work. For clamshells, assess whether the outer screen handles the quick interactions you care about without opening the phone. Screen size figures do not establish how well every app adapts or how reliably content moves between displays.

Samsung says its Galaxy Z Fold apps can continue from the cover screen to the larger display: “Apps can seamlessly transition between the cover screen and the larger foldable display, allowing you to continue where you left off without interruption.” This is Samsung’s description of its app continuity, not an independent test of every app or workflow.

- Portability: Think about how often you will carry the phone folded and how often you will open it. A compact clamshell and a book-style device serve different routines; display size alone does not settle which feels better to carry.
- Battery: Prefer comparable published battery tests when available, and keep the publisher and test context attached to any result. A capacity figure in mAh is not a runtime measurement.
- Cameras: Compare review evidence for image quality rather than relying only on model positioning. With a clamshell, also consider whether its outer screen makes it convenient to frame rear-camera selfies.
Software support, repairs and warranty
Verify update commitments for the exact model and region. Foldable repair can be more difficult than slab-phone repair, and service access varies by country. Before choosing an imported device, confirm who will honor its warranty, where repairs can be made, and what return terms apply to your seller. No single regional availability or warranty assumption should be carried across markets.

What about newer Samsung announcements?
Samsung UK’s comparison page includes the Z Fold8 and Fold8 Ultra alongside older generations. TechRadar cautions that newly announced devices still need full reviews before its rankings are updated. Treat announced specifications as manufacturer information, not proof of independent performance; compare completed reviews once they are available.
