The best Hark alternative depends on what you want an assistant to do without being prompted. Hark says its encrypted credential vault stores login and payment information and detokenizes credentials only on the site where they are needed. It also says it does not sell Hark data or share it with advertisers. Those are Hark’s statements, not the result of an independent security audit. For any service that can access accounts or initiate payments, read the current security and privacy terms before connecting an account.

OpenAI says its earlier Operator experience was fully integrated into ChatGPT as ChatGPT agent on July 17, 2025. What it can do
OpenAI describes an agent that can see web pages and interact with them by typing, clicking, and scrolling. Its examples include filling forms and ordering groceries. OpenAI’s Operator System Card identifies risks including malicious webpage prompt injection and mistakes with consequences that may be difficult to reverse. Do not treat an agent’s ability to click a button as proof that the underlying decision is safe.

The important distinction is persistence. A one-off agent session ends when the task is complete; a background or recurring task is intended to run again or continue monitoring according to its configuration. That model is useful for watching a set of information, checking an inbox workflow, collecting updates, or repeating a defined research-and-summary process.
The documentation does not establish that Computer has Hark’s persistent conversational memory, Panels, Action Buttons, or exact breadth of consumer workflows. It also does not prove that every connected service supports every kind of write action. How to choose without assuming “proactive” means the same thing

4. Define failure and stop conditions
