The right alternative depends on which Dyson job you want to replace. A wet attachment such as the V15s Detect Submarine is used after dry vacuuming, while Dyson’s dedicated WashG1 and Clean+Wash Hygiene machines are designed to collect wet and dry debris from hard floors in one pass. Among models with current manufacturer documentation, the Tineco FLOOR ONE S7 Stretch Ultra, Dreame H14 and BISSELL CrossWave All-in-One 1785A cover the main alternatives: cordless floor washing, a compact hot-air-drying design, and a corded machine that also lists area-rug cleaning.
First identify the Dyson workflow you are replacing
“Dyson wet floor cleaner” can describe two different routines. The V15s Detect Submarine combines a conventional dry vacuum with a wet roller head. You vacuum with one head, stop, and switch to the wet head for washing. Dyson describes the WashG1 and Clean+Wash Hygiene as dedicated cleaners that can pick up wet and dry debris on hard floors without a separate pre-vacuuming pass. The distinction matters more than the logo: a floor washer is a single-purpose wet-cleaning appliance, whereas a wet attachment may be one part of a broader dry-vacuum system. Dyson’s current floor-cleaner category explains these product roles at Dyson’s floor-cleaner page.
The alternatives below are not independent head-to-head winners. Their runtime, tank and drying figures are manufacturer specifications, and the Dreame page explicitly says actual results can vary from its laboratory conditions. TechRadar’s August 7, 2026 buying guide uses floor mix, maneuverability, cleaning, self-cleaning and value as selection criteria; it names the Tineco Floor One S7 Pro—not the Stretch Ultra—as its overall pick, so that model-specific judgment should not be transferred to the Stretch Ultra. Its guide reports testing more than 200 vacuum cleaners overall, not a direct test of these three products (TechRadar guide).

Tank capacities indicate how much liquid the reservoirs hold, not how many square metres you will clean. Soil level, dispensing rate, passes and floor absorbency can change refill and emptying frequency. Likewise, cordless runtimes are maximum or laboratory-style claims, not guaranteed household results.

Tineco FLOOR ONE S7 Stretch Ultra: the cordless, low-clearance option
The Stretch Ultra is the most specification-rich cordless alternative in this comparison. Its listed 13 cm lay-flat height is useful when you need to reach beneath low furniture, and dual-sided edge cleaning is intended to reduce the unwashed strip along both sides of a wall or cabinet. The product page lists auto, max and suction modes, allowing you to trade liquid use and cleaning intensity against battery time.
Tineco publishes a maximum runtime of 50 minutes, a 1-litre clean-water tank and a 0.72-litre dirty-water tank. Those values are useful for planning, but they do not establish a direct coverage advantage over Dreame or a corded machine. A heavily soiled kitchen may require more passes than a lightly maintained hallway, and maximum runtime depends on the selected mode and conditions.
After a session, the machine’s five-minute drying cycle uses 85°C air, according to Tineco. Fast drying can reduce the time a damp roller sits between jobs, but it does not eliminate the need to empty the dirty tank, inspect the roller and clean filters. Tineco’s page points to model-specific accessories and consumables; match every replacement to the Stretch Ultra rather than assuming parts from another FLOOR ONE model fit.
Choose this model when cordless operation, two-sided edge reach and a low under-furniture profile matter more than a published weight or a corded continuous run. The cited page does not state a product weight or provide an independent performance test.
Dreame H14: compact tanks with two drying modes
The H14 is another cordless wet-dry cleaner aimed primarily at hard-floor washing. Dreame lists dual-edge cleaning and a design that can operate upright or lying flat. Its used-water capacity is specified differently by position: 650 ml while standing and 450 ml when lying flat. That distinction is practical—cleaning under furniture can reduce the available waste-tank volume, so monitor the tank rather than assuming the upright figure applies in every orientation.

Dreame lists up to 35 minutes of runtime and an 880 ml clean-water tank. The company attributes performance figures to laboratory conditions and warns that actual runtime and cleaning area may vary. Treat the number as a planning ceiling, not a promise that one charge will cover a particular home.
For post-cleaning care, the H14 page lists five-minute super-speed hot-air drying and a one-hour quiet hot-air option. The faster cycle minimizes downtime; the quieter, longer cycle may suit homes where noise is a concern. Neither setting replaces emptying the used-water tank or washing the components that the manual identifies. Dreame also lists a spare roller brush and replacement filter, which signals that these are service parts rather than permanently maintenance-free components.
The H14 is a sensible fit when dual-edge reach and a choice of drying speeds are more important than maximum cordless endurance. Its cited page does not state a product weight, and no independent comparative score is established here.
BISSELL CrossWave All-in-One 1785A: corded cleaning and area-rug coverage
The CrossWave 1785A takes a different approach. It is corded, with a 25-foot power cable, so it does not have a battery-runtime limit but requires outlet planning and cable management. BISSELL lists the machine at 11.5 lb. That published weight is useful when comparing stair transport or frequent lifting, although handling also depends on the filled tanks and the direction of travel.
BISSELL specifically lists sealed hard floors and area rugs as intended surfaces. This broader surface description can be valuable in homes that move between kitchens, sealed timber or tile and low-pile rugs. “Sealed” is an important qualification: unfinished wood, damaged seams, wax-sensitive finishes and other delicate surfaces may have different care requirements. Follow both the appliance manual and the flooring manufacturer’s instructions.

The two-tank layout separates 28 ounces of clean water from 14.5 ounces of dirty water. BISSELL includes brush rolls, a filter, formula and a rinse/clean-out tray. The tray supports post-use rinsing, but the machine still requires dirty-water disposal, component cleaning and periodic replacement of wear parts. The product page does not state a timed hot-air brush-drying cycle.

It is less convenient where outlets are scarce, rooms are large and cable repositioning would interrupt the route.
How to choose among these alternatives
Match the appliance to your floor mix
- Sealed hard floors only: A dedicated cordless washer such as the Tineco or Dreame can be appropriate, provided the exact model documentation permits your flooring. Verify requirements for natural stone, sealed wood, laminate, vinyl and painted surfaces before adding liquid.
- Sealed hard floors plus area rugs: The CrossWave 1785A is the only model here whose cited page expressly lists both categories. Do not infer that the cordless machines are rug-safe from their wet-dry branding.
- Mixed surfaces with delicate finishes: Check the floor maker’s cleaning instructions first. A machine’s ability to collect wet debris does not make every surface water-safe.
Decide whether cordless freedom outweighs continuous power
Cordless operation removes cable changes and makes quick kitchen cleanups easier, but it introduces charging and runtime limits. The published ceilings are 50 minutes for the Tineco and 35 minutes for the Dreame. Mode selection, suction load and floor conditions affect real use. The CrossWave’s 25-foot cord avoids battery depletion, but you must move between outlets and keep the cable away from the wet path.
Plan around tanks, not marketing area claims
Compare the clean and dirty reservoirs with the size and soil level of your rooms. Small tanks can mean more interruptions in a large, muddy entryway; larger tanks add liquid weight while you push. The H14’s two used-water figures also show why orientation matters. Capacities are specifications, not a direct coverage test, so the only reliable way to know your refill pattern is to observe it during your normal cleaning route.
Consider reach and edge performance
Both cordless candidates list dual-sided edge cleaning. The Tineco additionally lists a 13 cm lay-flat height, which addresses low furniture clearance. The CrossWave page supplied for this comparison does not state a lay-flat clearance or an edge-cleaning specification. If perimeter cleaning is a priority, leave enough time for a slow pass along baseboards; an edge feature does not guarantee that every dried deposit will release in one pass.

Compare the work after the floor is clean
Self-cleaning and heated drying reduce, but do not remove, ownership tasks. For any model, expect to:
- Empty and rinse the dirty-water tank promptly.
- Remove hair, grit and fibers from the roller or intake.
- Clean or replace filters at the interval in the manual.
- Use only the specified cleaning solution and dilution.
- Allow parts that are not covered by a drying cycle to dry fully before storage.
The Tineco and Dreame pages publish timed drying options; BISSELL supplies a rinse/clean-out tray and identifies formula, brush rolls and filters. None of those systems makes dirty-water disposal optional.
A practical cleaning workflow
- Read the surface limits. Confirm that each room’s flooring is approved, sealed where required and compatible with liquid cleaning. Remove loose objects and cables.
- Fill the clean tank correctly. Use the water level and solution instructions for the exact model. Do not substitute an unapproved detergent simply because it is marketed for floors.
- Choose the route and mode. Start at the farthest point and work toward the exit. Use an economical setting for routine dust and a stronger setting only where soil requires it; higher power can consume battery and solution faster.
- Work in controlled passes. Move slowly enough for the roller to contact the floor, but do not repeatedly flood one area. Follow the manufacturer’s guidance for rugs or avoid them entirely when the model does not list them.
- Check tanks during the job. Stop before the clean tank is empty or the used-water tank reaches its limit. For the H14, remember that lying-flat operation has the lower stated used-water capacity.
- Run the documented self-cleaning or drying cycle. Use Tineco’s listed five-minute, 85°C drying, Dreame’s super-speed or quiet hot-air mode, or BISSELL’s rinse/clean-out tray as applicable.
- Finish manually. Dispose of dirty water, rinse removable parts, inspect the roller and filter, and store the appliance where remaining moisture can evaporate.
Common pitfalls and fixes
Assuming “wet-dry” means every floor is safe
Wet-dry labeling describes the cleaning function, not universal flooring approval. Use the explicit CrossWave surface list as a model-specific statement, not a rule for Tineco or Dreame. If documentation is silent, obtain the manual or manufacturer support before applying liquid to a new surface.
Treating runtime as room-size coverage
A maximum runtime does not account for repeated passes, high-power modes, thick debris or battery age. Break a large job into zones, keep the charger accessible and avoid choosing a cordless machine solely because its headline number is larger.
Ignoring the dirty tank after a self-clean cycle
Self-cleaning flushes the internal path; it does not make the recovered water sanitary or safe to leave overnight. Empty and rinse the tank, then follow the manual’s filter and roller-drying instructions.

Expecting edge cleaning to remove every perimeter stain
Dual-sided edge hardware reduces the unwashed margin but cannot change the chemistry of dried grease or mineral deposits. Pre-treat only with a solution approved for the floor and appliance, then make a deliberate slow pass.
Using parts from a similar-looking model
Rollers, filters and detergent formulas can differ by revision and region. Tineco, Dreame and BISSELL each identify model-specific supplies or parts on their product pages. Confirm the model number before ordering replacements.
