If you want a tablet that can also handle Alexa and smart-home controls, the Lenovo Smart Tab M10 with Alexa and Smart Dock is the closest tablet-shaped match in the options covered here—but it is a legacy product, so check the exact model and whether its dock is included. For a screen that is ready for Alexa without needing to dock a tablet, choose an Echo Show. For everyday tablet use alongside smart-home apps, consider an iPad or, for a Google Home setup, a Nest Hub.
Choose by how you plan to use the screen
- Tablet first, Alexa when docked: Look for the Lenovo Smart Tab M10 with Alexa and Smart Dock, while verifying the generation and listing details.
- Alexa screen that stays ready: The Echo Show 8 is a dedicated display with Alexa and smart-home hub support.

Lenovo Smart Tab M10 with Alexa and Smart Dock
The Lenovo Smart Tab M10 is the closest match if you want one device to function as a tablet away from its dock and as an Alexa-enabled screen when docked. Lenovo Support says Show Mode supports Alexa commands, content playback, and control of smart-home devices. The support description also says one primary account is linked to the Alexa app, which matters if you expect multiple household members to use their own accounts.

This is a legacy product family rather than a safe assumption for a new, readily available purchase. Listings may differ by generation, condition, and included accessories. Confirm the dock is actually part of the offer: without it, the device may not provide the hands-free, always-ready setup you expect.
When a dedicated Alexa display makes more sense
Echo Show 8 for a compact control point
Amazon describes the Echo Show 8 as an 8-inch HD smart display with a built-in hub for Zigbee, Matter, and Thread devices. Compatible devices can be controlled by voice or on screen, and the product includes a camera. It is the most direct fit if Alexa continuity and an always-available smart-home screen matter more than using the same device as a conventional tablet. Confirm that the particular devices you want to control use supported protocols and are compatible; hub support does not mean every device will work.

Echo Show 15 and Echo Show 21 for a fixed, larger screen
Amazon Developer’s specifications identify 15.6-inch and 21-inch Full HD screens for the Echo Show 15 and Echo Show 21, respectively. Amazon’s buying guide says both include Fire TV and smart-home control. Their screen size makes them candidates for a wall or counter location, not a portable tablet substitute. Consider where the display will live and how you want it mounted before choosing either model.

When tablet flexibility matters more than Alexa continuity
iPad (2025) for Apple Home and everyday tablet tasks
An iPad can combine ordinary tablet use with compatible smart-home apps and Apple Home. It does not come with a base or mount, and its smart-home usefulness depends on whether your devices support Apple Home. It also does not provide built-in, always-listening Alexa; treat it as a tablet that can run compatible apps, not as an Echo Show replacement.

Nest Hub (2nd Gen) for Google Home
The Nest Hub is a dedicated 7-inch Google Assistant display for controlling compatible devices in Google’s ecosystem. Tom’s Guide lists no camera, which may suit a buyer who prefers a screen without one. It is not an Alexa device, and its fit depends on your Google Home setup. Check local availability and current software support before buying.

Amazon announced Alexa Tablet 12 Pro, 11, and 8 models with Alexa+ integration, smart-home controls, and Google Play access. Amazon’s announcement says the range starts at $229; that is a vendor-stated launch price, not a verified current price. These are Amazon devices, so they may be relevant if you want a newer Amazon tablet, but they are not third-party alternatives to a Fire tablet. - Assistant ecosystem: Confirm whether your household uses Alexa, Apple Home, or Google Home, and check compatibility for the specific devices you plan to control.
- Voice readiness: Decide whether the screen should be ready for hands-free commands at a fixed spot or whether using it as a docked tablet is enough.
