For most players shopping for an Acer 1080p gaming monitor, the Nitro VG240Y M3 (U.S. part UM.QV0AA.302) is the clearest all-round shortlist pick: it combines a 23.8-inch IPS Full HD screen with a listed 180 Hz refresh rate, FreeSync Premium and DisplayPort. Choose by exact model and regional part number, though: Acer’s Nitro range includes different panel sizes, refresh rates, stands and input limits, and the fastest headline figure is not always available on every connection.

Which Acer 1080p gaming monitor should you choose?

Start with the Nitro VG240Y M3 if you want a 23.8-inch IPS monitor with a documented 180 Hz mode and a practical set of inputs. Its U.S. listing specifies Full HD at 1920 × 1080, FreeSync Premium, two HDMI ports, one DisplayPort 1.2 connection and VESA 100 × 100 mounting. Acer lists 250 nits of brightness and 99% sRGB for this specific part number; these are manufacturer specifications, not independent measurements. See Acer’s VG240Y M3 specifications.

Other Acer Nitro models may suit a narrower need: a UK-listed XF243Y M3 adds an adjustable stand, the EG0 family page describes 144 Hz Full HD options, and the XV240 F6 announcement gives a much higher DisplayPort ceiling with a lower HDMI limit. Compare the complete mode and local SKU before deciding rather than treating “Acer 1080p gaming monitor” as one fixed specification.

What matters most when choosing a 1080p gaming monitor?

Refresh rate and the connection you will use

A higher refresh rate can display more frames per second when the computer supplies them, but the monitor’s maximum does not show what a particular PC or game will achieve. Check the graphics card’s outputs and the monitor’s input-specific modes. The XV240 F6 illustrates why: Acer’s announcement specifies up to 600 Hz on DisplayPort but 240 Hz on HDMI. For the VG240Y M3, Acer lists 180 Hz and DisplayPort 1.2 alongside two HDMI ports; check the exact product documentation for the connection and mode you plan to use.

Screen size, panel and desk fit

The VG240Y M3 is a 23.8-inch IPS display. The UK XF243Y M3 listing also describes a Full HD IPS panel and includes a stand with height, tilt, swivel and pivot adjustment. A movable stand can matter if you need to align the screen without adding an arm. These details are tied to the cited UK SKU, not guaranteed across all regional versions.

Response-time claims are not interchangeable

Acer lists “1 ms GTG” for the VG240Y M3. Its RG0 family page uses “1ms Visual Response Boost (VRB)” and notes that the MPRT figure relies on internal testing under specific conditions; brightness may vary when VRB is enabled. Because these labels describe different methods or modes, do not treat the smallest printed millisecond number as a standardized head-to-head comparison. Acer’s RG0 response-time notes

Acer Nitro 24.5in FHD 1920x1080 200Hz Gaming Monitor KG251Q X3biip
  • Quality Visuals: The KG251Q 24.5" monitor with 1920 x 1080 Full HD resolution in a 16:9 aspect ratio presents stunning, high-quality images with excellent detail. The zero-frame design does away with the thick frames found on conventional monitors freeing up precious screen space.
  • AMD FreeSync Premium Technology: Say “goodbye” to stuttering and tearing. With AMD FreeSync Premium, the monitor’s frames are synced with the graphics card’s frames, which eliminates screen tearing and provides the smoothest gaming experience.
  • 200Hz Refresh Rate: The 200Hz refresh rate speeds up the frames per second to deliver an ultra-smooth 2D motion scene. With a rapid refresh rate of 200Hz, Acer Monitors shorten the time it takes for frame rendering, lower input lag and provide gamers an excellent in-game experience.
  • Responsive!!: Up to 0.5ms GTG (Gray to Gray) response time enhanced gamers’ in-game experience. No matter if the fast-moving action or any dramatic transitions will be rendered smoothly without the annoying effects of smearing or ghosting with KG251Q Gaming Monitor
  • ZeroFrame Design: With a Nitro KG251Q monitor, you’ll want to see as much of the display as possible. Get more real estate with the near bezel-less design, allowing you to see more and do more. The ZeroFrame design lets you place multiple monitors next to each other for a seamless, almost uninterrupted view.

Inputs, mounting and what comes in the box

For the U.S. VG240Y M3 part UM.QV0AA.302, Acer lists two HDMI connections, DisplayPort 1.2 and VESA 100 × 100 mounting, and includes an HDMI cable in the package. That makes a separate HDMI cable unnecessary for that listed package, but does not establish what ships with a different regional SKU. If you plan to use an arm or wall mount, match the VESA pattern and check the mount’s weight rating and clearance.

How to check whether a monitor fits your PC

  1. Identify the exact monitor SKU. Compare its regional part number with Acer’s product page; family names alone may cover different specifications.
  2. Check the connection path. Confirm which video outputs your computer has and the refresh rate the monitor supports over that particular input.
  3. Confirm the target resolution and refresh setting. The models here are Full HD, or 1920 × 1080. Select the supported resolution and refresh rate in your operating system or graphics settings after connecting the display.
  4. Consider the game and PC together. A monitor’s refresh-rate ceiling is not a promise that your graphics hardware will render a game at the same frame rate; performance depends on the computer and game.

What the specifications do—and do not—tell you

The product pages and announcement establish listed features, not independent gaming performance, image-quality testing or current buying conditions. They do not establish what frame rate a particular computer can sustain, nor do they verify current price, stock or warranty terms. Acer also cautions that specifications can vary by model and region, so confirm the exact product listing where you intend to buy.

  • Responsive!!: Up to 0.5ms GTG (Gray to Gray) response time enhanced gamers’ in-game experience. No matter the fast-moving action or any dramatic transitions will be all rendered smoothly without the annoying effects of smearing or ghosting with KG271U Gaming Monitor.
  • New Depths of Color Accuracy: is monitor is ideal for color-critical projects producing accurate colors, supporting DCI-P3 95%. An amazing monitor for graphic designers, photographers, and film editors.

For a value-focused 144 Hz IPS option, the EG0 family page is a starting point, not enough to identify a particular configuration. For a documented 180 Hz 23.8-inch model, the U.S. VG240Y M3 listing is more specific. The XF243Y M3 may be attractive if its adjustable stand matters and the UK-listed configuration is available in your market. Treat the XV240 F6’s 600 Hz figure as an announced DisplayPort mode, not a universal connection limit or proof of current availability.
