Short answer: exact 60-inch televisions are now an unusually small category. The 2026 guides identify Samsung’s DU7200 as a genuine 60-inch LED option, but most current choice is concentrated in 58-inch and 65-inch models. Treat 58 inches as the closest compact alternative and 65 inches as the broader upgrade category, not as interchangeable sizes.

Before ordering, verify the exact model code, your country’s stock, the set’s real cabinet and stand dimensions, and the features your room and devices need. Retail listings, suffixes, prices and availability can change quickly, and the cited guides cover more than one market.

What is the best 60-inch TV?

If you require a true 60-inch screen, the clearest named option in the 2026 buying guides is the Samsung DU7200, described as a 60-inch LED television. That identification answers the size question, but it does not establish current inventory, price, regional model suffix or suitability for every room. Confirm those details with a retailer serving your country before paying.

For many shoppers, the better decision is to widen the search by one size step. A 58-inch set preserves a relatively compact footprint, while 65-inch televisions offer a much larger and more varied selection of panel technologies and gaming features. The physical difference is significant enough that you should measure furniture or wall space rather than relying on the diagonal label.

  • Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
  • Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
  • 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.

Are 60-inch TVs still available?

Yes, but they are less common than nearby sizes in the 2026 guides. Product ranges increasingly cluster around 58 and 65 inches, leaving fewer exact-60-inch choices. The Samsung DU7200 is the specific 60-inch model named in the cited guide; an associated Amazon listing supplies a search phrase (“Samsung 60 inch TV”), not proof that the television is currently in stock where you live.

Availability is market-specific. A model sold in one country may have a different suffix, tuner configuration, warranty or retailer listing elsewhere. Check the manufacturer’s regional product page and local retailer inventory on the day you buy. If the listing shows only “60-inch Samsung TV” without the full model code, ask the seller to confirm that it is DU7200 and that the diagonal is 60 inches, rather than a similarly named 58- or 65-inch variant.

The exact 60-inch pick: Samsung DU7200

What is established

  • The 2026 guide identifies DU7200 as an exact-60-inch LED TV.
  • The model belongs to Samsung’s 2026 television lineup; Samsung’s newsroom lineup material is dated August 11, 2026.
  • The cited listing supports searching for the phrase “Samsung 60 inch TV.”

What you still need to verify

  • Regional model code and suffix, because lineups differ by country.
  • Current stock and delivery location.
  • Price, return terms and warranty in your market.
  • Actual cabinet, stand and depth measurements.
  • HDR formats, refresh rate, variable refresh rate (VRR), automatic low-latency mode (ALLM) and HDMI 2.1 support if you plan to game.

Those checks matter because a size match alone does not tell you how a set performs in a bright room, which HDR streams it accepts or whether it can use the output modes of a console or PC. The guides do not establish one universal DU7200 specification sheet for every region, so do not infer features from a retailer photograph or a different country’s listing.

Should you buy a 58-inch or 65-inch TV instead?

Use the following decision table to frame the trade-off. The sizes are alternatives, not evidence that all three are the same product category.

Choice When it makes sense What to check Availability in the cited guides
58-inch You want the closest practical size to 60 inches, with a compact cabinet and more model choice than exact-60-inch sets. Actual width and stand footprint; the 2-inch diagonal reduction may not produce the same cabinet width across brands. Discussed as a practical alternative; no single universal model or price is established.
60-inch You have a fixed furniture opening or strongly prefer the exact diagonal. Full regional code, stock, dimensions, HDR and gaming specifications for the specific listing. Samsung DU7200 is the named exact-size option.
65-inch You want the widest current selection and a more immersive picture, and your room can accommodate the larger cabinet. Width, height, depth, stand spread, viewing distance, brightness, panel type, HDR formats, refresh rate, VRR and HDMI 2.1. Broad selection discussed by Which? and other 2026 guides; individual models depend on market and budget.

A 65-inch set has about 32% more screen area than a 60-inch set, calculated from the square of the diagonal ratio (65 ÷ 60). That makes the upgrade visible, but it also increases cabinet width and the amount of wall or furniture space required. A 58-inch set has about 7% less screen area than a 60-inch set, so it is a modest compromise when a particular alcove is tight.

Will a 60-inch TV fit my room?

Measure the television’s actual body, not just its diagonal. Which? reports average tested dimensions of 86 × 137 × 27 cm for 60-inch sets and 89.7 × 145.3 × 30.7 cm for 65-inch sets. Those are averages from tested models, not guarantees for the DU7200 or any other individual design; bezel thickness, stand shape and rear-panel depth vary.

Measure a cabinet installation

  1. Measure the furniture’s usable width between side panels, not the outside width.
  2. Measure the usable height from the shelf to the lowest obstruction, such as a soundbar or cabinet lip.
  3. Check the stand’s left-to-right spread and front-to-back depth. A narrow television can still overhang a shallow shelf.
  4. Leave room for power and HDMI cables to bend without pressing against the wall.
  5. Place the television so its ventilation openings are not blocked by the cabinet back.

Measure a wall installation

  1. Mark the intended screen rectangle with painter’s tape using the manufacturer’s stated width and height.
  2. Locate studs or use a wall system rated for the television’s weight; the guides do not provide a universal mounting pattern or weight.
  3. Allow clearance behind the set for the mount, cables and ventilation.
  4. Check that doors, windows and lights will not strike the screen or create severe reflections.
  5. Keep the stand and screws in storage if you may move the television later; the included hardware is model-specific.

Which? says almost all new 60- and 65-inch televisions use 4K resolution. That makes resolution a poor tie-breaker by itself. Physical fit, reflection control, HDR behavior and motion features usually determine whether a particular set is right for your room.

Picture quality: match the panel to the room

OLED versus Mini LED and QLED LCD

The 65-inch guides emphasize that there is no single best technology. OLED panels can deliver very deep blacks and precise control in a dark room, while Mini LED and other QLED LCD designs can be attractive in rooms with strong daylight because their backlights can produce high brightness. Those are general technology characteristics; the performance of a specific television still depends on its implementation, processing and picture settings.

Choose based on how you watch:

  • Dark-room films: prioritize black-level control, shadow detail and a screen surface that does not mirror lamps.
  • Bright living rooms: compare measured or independently reported brightness and anti-reflection treatment for the exact model.
  • Mixed streaming and broadcast: look at upscaling and motion processing as well as native 4K resolution.
  • Long static displays: read the manufacturer’s guidance for static logos, news tickers and game interfaces before selecting an OLED.

HDR support

Do not assume that every 4K television supports the same HDR formats. Check the model’s specification page and the apps or disc player you use. Verify whether the set accepts the formats your content supplies, and whether those formats work at the refresh rates you plan to use. A television can display an HDR label while offering different results across streaming services, game consoles and external players.

What to compare if you move to 65 inches

A larger size opens more choices, so compare the points below instead of selecting by brand name or screen diagonal.

Criterion Why it matters How to verify
Panel technology Influences black levels, brightness, viewing angle and reflection handling. Read the exact model specification and an independent assessment for that model.
Peak and sustained brightness Determines how convincing HDR highlights look and how easily the picture remains visible in daylight. Look for measurements under stated test conditions; do not treat a marketing maximum as a room-performance guarantee.
HDR formats Controls compatibility with streaming services, discs and games. Match the television’s listed formats to your source devices and subscriptions.
Refresh rate Affects motion clarity and the highest frame-rate modes available from consoles or PCs. Confirm the native panel rate, not only a motion-enhancement number.
VRR and ALLM VRR reduces tearing during variable-frame-rate games; ALLM can switch to a low-latency mode. Check supported ranges and whether the feature works on the HDMI input you will use.
HDMI 2.1 inputs Needed for some combinations of 4K, high frame rate and advanced console or PC features. Count the actual HDMI 2.1 ports and read the bandwidth and feature limits.
Viewing angle Important when viewers sit far to the side of the screen. Compare off-axis contrast and color behavior for the exact panel.

The 2026 guides specifically advise comparing panel technology, brightness, room lighting, HDR support, refresh rate, VRR and HDMI 2.1 when considering 65-inch models. Use that checklist for a 60-inch set too, because the same connectivity and room constraints apply.

Gaming checks before you buy

  1. Write down the output modes of your console or graphics card, such as 4K at 60 Hz or 120 Hz.
  2. Check the television’s native refresh rate and supported 4K frame rates for the exact HDMI input.
  3. Confirm VRR type and operating range. “VRR ready” is not enough if the range does not cover your games.
  4. Confirm ALLM if you want automatic low-latency switching.
  5. Count HDMI 2.1 ports against every device that needs one. An external switch may add cost and complexity.
  6. Read whether HDR, VRR and high refresh can operate simultaneously; some models limit combinations.

Do not infer gaming capability from a television’s price or from a similarly named model at another size. Regional variants can differ in ports and supported standards.

Content, streaming and upscaling

Almost all new 60- and 65-inch sets are 4K according to Which?, so the practical questions are how the television handles lower-resolution material and which services or devices you will connect. List your sources—broadcast channels, streaming boxes, game consoles, a PC, a disc player—and verify that the television has enough compatible inputs.

  • For HD broadcast and older shows, compare upscaling quality and motion handling.
  • For streaming, check that the apps you use are available in the television’s operating system or budget for a separate streaming device.
  • For a PC, verify chroma, refresh-rate and HDR support at the resolution you intend to use.
  • For an antenna, confirm the tuner standard for your country; a television imported from another market may not support local broadcasts.

Sound and the real purchase budget

A television’s picture size does not predict its sound quality. The 65-inch buying guidance recommends dedicated audio for viewers who want stronger sound. Treat a soundbar or receiver as part of the system budget only if your room or listening habits require it; the exact television’s audio outputs and passthrough formats should be checked first.

Build a complete cost list:

  • Television price in your country and any recurring delivery or installation charge.
  • Wall mount or stand hardware if the included stand does not suit your furniture.
  • Soundbar, speakers or an existing receiver, if needed.
  • Longer certified HDMI cables for an in-wall or distant-device installation.
  • Extended warranty only after comparing its coverage, exclusions and return policy with the standard warranty.

The cited guides do not establish a universal price for the DU7200 or for 58- and 65-inch alternatives. Avoid using an old promotion or another country’s price as a current budget benchmark.

A step-by-step buying process

  1. Set the size boundary. Decide whether the diagonal must be exactly 60 inches, can be approximately 58 inches, or may grow to 65 inches.
  2. Measure the installation. Record maximum width, height, depth, stand footprint and cable clearance.
  3. Identify the room. Note daylight, direct lamps, seating angles and whether you mostly watch films, sports, broadcast television or games.
  4. List your sources. Include every console, PC, streaming box, antenna and sound system.
  5. Filter the technology. Compare OLED and Mini LED/QLED LCD options according to brightness, reflections and dark-room contrast.
  6. Check the signal features. Match HDR formats, refresh rate, VRR, ALLM and HDMI 2.1 ports to your devices.
  7. Verify the exact listing. Confirm full model code, regional suffix, diagonal, included stand and tuner before checkout.
  8. Recheck stock and terms. Availability, price, delivery date, return window and warranty should all be current for your country.
  9. Plan installation. Arrange a second person for lifting, test all inputs before routing cables, and keep packaging until the return period ends.

Common buying mistakes and fixes

Mistake: treating 58, 60 and 65 inches as equivalent

Fix: label every candidate with its actual diagonal and compare cabinet measurements. A near-size model is an alternative, not proof that an exact-60-inch version exists.

Mistake: measuring only the screen diagonal

Fix: use the manufacturer’s width, height, depth and stand dimensions, then compare them with your furniture or wall plan. Which? notes that individual designs vary around its tested averages.

Mistake: assuming a different country’s model suffix is identical

Fix: verify the regional code, tuner, warranty and port list with a local retailer or manufacturer page.

Mistake: choosing by 4K resolution alone

Fix: compare HDR compatibility, room brightness, reflection handling, motion and viewing angle.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Mistake: buying a gaming television without checking ports

Fix: match each console or PC to a specific HDMI input and confirm that 4K, high refresh, HDR and VRR can operate in the combination you need.

What the independent testing context means

Which? says it tests almost 200 televisions each year, purchasing sets from the same stores consumers use. That statistic describes Which?’s testing program, not testing performed for this article. Its TV expert Martin Pratt cautions: “You can spend a fortune on a 65-inch TV and the large screen size means few could possibly be considered cheap. Our tests have found that spending a lot doesn’t always guarantee you quality, though, and sometimes flashy features that hike the price don’t really make much difference to how they look and sound.” Use that warning when comparing expensive feature lists with improvements you can actually see or hear in your room.

Final buying recommendation

Choose the Samsung DU7200 only when you have confirmed that its exact 60-inch regional version is available and its dimensions, picture features and connections suit your setup. If stock is poor or the specification does not meet your needs, a 58-inch model is the closest compact substitute. Move to 65 inches when you want substantially more choice and can accommodate the larger cabinet; then compare panel technology, brightness, HDR, refresh rate, VRR and HDMI 2.1 rather than assuming that a higher price automatically means a better television.
