The right 43-inch TV depends on whether you need an exact 43-inch screen, a premium set close to that size, or an affordable 4K TV for everyday streaming. One important distinction: the LG C6 often named a top choice in this category is 42 inches, not 43. For a literal 43-inch screen, compare models such as LG’s 2026 QNED75B and Hisense’s R6, then verify the exact regional model and its current specifications before buying.
Is a 43-inch TV the right size for your room?
A 43-inch TV can suit a bedroom, smaller living room, desk-side setup, or a space where a larger screen would dominate. Whether 4K is worthwhile depends on viewing distance and what you watch; resolution alone does not determine whether the screen will feel large enough.
Measure the space and consider where you will sit before choosing. Manufacturer distance guidance, including the advice on TCL’s 43-inch TV page, is a starting point rather than a universal rule. Room layout, eyesight, content quality, and personal preference all affect comfortable viewing.

Which 43-inch TV should you choose?
| Priority | Option to consider | What to know |
|---|---|---|
| Premium picture and gaming in a compact size | LG C6, 42-inch class | Tom’s Guide lists 4K resolution, HDR10, Dolby Vision and HLG, a 144Hz refresh rate (up to 165Hz), webOS 26 and four HDMI 2.1 ports. It is 42 inches, so it is a near-size alternative, not an exact 43-inch TV. The 42-inch version has 20W speakers; results from the separately tested 65-inch model should not be assumed to apply to it. Source |
| Exactly 43 inches with smart features | LG QNED75B, model 43QNED75BUA | LG identifies this 2026 model as a 43-inch 4K smart TV and advertises Dynamic QNED Color, Mini LED, an a7 AI Processor 4K Gen9, HDR10 Pro, webOS and game settings. These are manufacturer-stated features; check the model manual for detailed refresh-rate and HDMI specifications. Source |
| Roku streaming in an exact 43-inch 4K set | Hisense R6, model 43R6E3 | Hisense describes it as a 43-inch 4K UHD Roku TV and advertises Dolby Vision HDR and HDR10. These are manufacturer claims, not independent test findings. Source |

What matters most when comparing 43-inch TVs?
Screen size and display type
Check the diagonal and model number rather than relying on a retailer’s category label. The LG C6 is a 42-inch OLED near-size pick; the LG QNED75B and Hisense R6 models above are described as 43-inch TVs. OLED, QNED and other display labels refer to different approaches to picture production, but a technology name by itself does not establish which set will look best in your room.
Resolution and HDR
All three examples in the comparison are described as 4K. Check which HDR formats the precise model supports and whether the content you watch is available in those formats. The cited claims differ: the C6 listing includes HDR10, Dolby Vision and HLG; LG advertises HDR10 Pro for the QNED75B; Hisense advertises Dolby Vision HDR and HDR10 for the R6. Feature support does not by itself establish brightness or overall picture quality.

Refresh rate and gaming connections
If you play games, check the exact model’s refresh rate, HDMI inputs and supported game settings. The C6 roundup lists 144Hz (up to 165Hz) and four HDMI 2.1 ports; those specifications are not evidence that either 43-inch example offers the same capabilities. LG advertises game settings for the QNED75B, but consult its manual for details before treating it as a high-refresh or HDMI 2.1 option.
Smart TV platform and apps
The examples use webOS on the LG models and Roku TV on the Hisense. TCL’s global 43-inch category page also describes models with Google TV and Chromecast. Check the exact set’s app availability, interface, and software support in your region; a brand or family name does not guarantee identical software across variants.

Sound and connections
Small TVs can compromise on built-in sound, and the cited roundup specifically notes 20W speakers on the 42-inch C6. If immersive audio matters, consider whether the TV’s audio outputs and available space suit a soundbar. Confirm connection compatibility and dimensions for the particular TV and soundbar rather than assuming every setup will fit.
How do you choose the best 43-inch TV for your needs?
- Decide whether 43 inches is a strict requirement. If so, rule out 42-inch-class sets, including the LG C6, even if they appear in “43-inch” recommendations.
- Match the set to its main job. For premium compact gaming, investigate the C6’s exact 42-inch specifications and price. For an exact-size smart TV, compare the LG QNED75B’s model-specific details. For straightforward Roku streaming, examine the Hisense R6 43R6E3.
- Check the details that affect your use. Compare HDR formats, refresh rate, HDMI inputs, smart-platform apps, and audio connections on the exact regional SKU. Do not infer a specification from a different screen size or model in the same family.
- Confirm local availability and total value. Compare current retailer listings in your country, including any differences in model suffix, warranty, and included features. No single best-value price is established for these examples.
- Plan the viewing setup. Check viewing distance, placement, and whether the TV’s built-in sound is sufficient for the room.
Is a 43-inch TV worth it?
It can be a sensible choice when a larger screen will not fit or when the TV is for a smaller room or secondary viewing space. The trade-off is that a compact model may not deliver the same sound or brightness as larger models in a product family, and premium gaming features are not guaranteed just because a TV is 4K. Choose based on the precise model’s specifications and your room, not the category name alone.
