The right 32-inch monitor depends on what you do with it: the ASUS ROG Swift OLED PG32UCDM Gen3 is the strongest gaming-and-mixed-use choice in RTINGS’ 2026 guide, while Dell’s Pro 32 Plus P3225QE is a sourced productivity alternative. The shortlist below separates those jobs instead of treating one display as best for everyone. RTINGS’ guide currently supports four gaming and mixed-use picks; the fifth is clearly identified as a work-focused alternative, not a comparable reviewed ranking.

Five 32-inch monitor options, matched to the job

“32-inch” monitors commonly use a 31.5-inch diagonal panel, so check the exact listing and the monitor’s physical dimensions before buying. RTINGS’ recommendations are editorial picks from its 2026 guide, updated through September 1, 2026; they are not a universal consensus. The P3225QE is included as a productivity alternative using Dell’s US catalog specifications, not as a fifth entry in RTINGS’ reviewed shortlist.

Monitor Best fit Resolution and refresh rate Notable trade-off or feature
ASUS ROG Swift OLED PG32UCDM Gen3 High-end gaming and mixed use 4K (3840 × 2160), up to 240Hz QD-OLED, HDMI 2.1, USB-C hub with 90W power delivery; RTINGS highlights motion clarity, HDR image quality, and laptop connectivity.
Samsung Odyssey OLED G73SH S32HG732S Upper mid-range gaming 4K OLED at 165Hz, or dual mode up to 330Hz at 1080p RTINGS notes less vivid colors than the ASUS and no USB hub. Its lower price positioning is relative, not a promise about current local pricing.
Dell S3225QC Mixed-use 4K OLED 4K (3840 × 2160), up to 120Hz QD-OLED with 90W USB-C power delivery; better suited to darker rooms because bright-room black levels and glare performance are weaker than the comparison model.
Dell Alienware AW3225DM Budget-oriented gaming QHD (2560 × 1440), up to 180Hz VA panel; brighter in a lit room and higher refresh rate, but text is less sharp and HDR less capable than on the higher-priced OLED alternatives.
Dell Pro 32 Plus P3225QE Productivity alternative 4K (3840 × 2160), up to 100Hz IPS panel, adjustable stand, and USB-C power delivery up to 90W according to Dell’s US catalog. This is a work-focused alternative, not part of the four-model RTINGS ranking.

Which monitor fits your use?

For high-end gaming with work-laptop connectivity

The ASUS ROG Swift OLED PG32UCDM Gen3 combines 4K resolution with a 240Hz maximum refresh rate, HDMI 2.1, and a USB-C hub that delivers up to 90W of power. That combination makes it a versatile, premium option if your computer can drive demanding games at high frame rates and you also want to connect a laptop over USB-C. RTINGS identifies it as its best overall pick in the 2026 32-inch guide.

Samsung 32” Odyssey G5 (G50F) Series QHD Gaming Monitor
  • Samsung’s 32” Odyssey G5 QHD Gaming Monitor delivers brilliant visuals for exhilarating gameplay that’s more immersive than ever before.
  • QHD resolution (2560 x 1440) boasts incredibly detailed, pin-sharp images.
  • With a wide 178° viewing angle, the IPS panel consistently delivers crisp, clear hues from various viewpoints.
  • 180Hz Refresh Rate and 1ms response time (GtG) allow fast reactions for ultra-smooth gaming, plus G-Sync compatibility syncs the GPU and panel to reduce choppiness, screen lag, and image tearing.
  • HDR10 provides brighter highlights and nuanced shadows for added depth.

For gaming with a high-refresh 1080p mode

The Samsung Odyssey OLED G73SH S32HG732S offers a 4K, 165Hz mode and a dual mode that reaches 330Hz at 1080p. That flexibility can suit someone choosing between detailed single-player gaming and very high refresh rates at lower resolution. RTINGS places it in the upper mid-range category and notes that it has no USB hub and less vivid colors than the ASUS.

For 4K gaming and everyday mixed use

The Dell S3225QC provides 4K QD-OLED at up to 120Hz and 90W USB-C power delivery. It can suit a setup used for both gaming and general tasks, but room conditions matter: RTINGS says its bright-room black levels and glare performance are weaker than the comparison model, making darker rooms a better fit.

For a lower-cost route to high refresh rates

The Dell Alienware AW3225DM trades 4K and OLED for a QHD VA panel that reaches 180Hz. RTINGS lists it as its budget pick. QHD is less demanding to drive than 4K, while this model’s text sharpness and HDR performance fall short of the higher-priced OLED alternatives. Choose it when smooth gaming and a brighter-room setup matter more than maximum pixel detail or premium HDR.

For office work and USB-C laptop charging

The Dell Pro 32 Plus P3225QE is the productivity-first option here. Dell’s US catalog lists a 31.5-inch 4K IPS display, refresh rates up to 100Hz, an adjustable stand, and USB-C power delivery up to 90W. The listed specifications make it relevant for a desk centered on documents, spreadsheets, and a USB-C laptop; they do not establish a comparative review result against the four gaming picks.

Choose resolution and refresh rate around your hardware

4K (3840 × 2160) gives a 32-inch screen more detail than QHD (2560 × 1440), which can help with fine text and image work. The trade-off is that 4K gaming asks more of a graphics card than QHD gaming. A monitor’s maximum refresh rate is useful only when the computer or console can deliver enough frames at the chosen resolution; check the capabilities of the whole setup before paying for 240Hz or 330Hz. LG’s UK buying guide likewise advises matching monitor specifications to the games, hardware, and space available: LG’s gaming monitor guide.

For competitive play, a high refresh rate may matter more than 4K detail. For cinematic games or work involving detailed images, 4K may be the better priority. Make the resolution-versus-refresh decision based on the games and applications you actually use, not the largest number in a specification list.

Consider panel type and room lighting

Panel labels describe broad tendencies, not guaranteed results for every monitor. OLED panels can provide deep blacks and vivid HDR, but performance and bright-room behavior vary by model. IPS panels are often chosen for viewing angles and general work use; VA panels often emphasize contrast. Motion handling, brightness, glare, and image quality still need to be considered at the model level.

That distinction is particularly practical for the Dell S3225QC: RTINGS recommends it for darker rooms because of its weaker bright-room black levels and glare performance. If your desk is near windows or strong lighting, weigh that limitation alongside its 4K OLED image and USB-C charging.

Check ports, charging, and desk adjustments

Before ordering, compare the actual port list and stand adjustments on the regional listing. USB-C may carry video and charge a connected laptop, but charging wattage and hub features differ. The ASUS PG32UCDM Gen3 and Dell S3225QC listings in RTINGS’ guide specify 90W USB-C power delivery; Dell’s US catalog lists up to 90W for the P3225QE. The Samsung pick has no USB hub, according to RTINGS.

  • Confirm the monitor has the HDMI or DisplayPort connection your PC or console needs, and check whether it supports the desired resolution and refresh rate on that connection.
  • If using USB-C, verify that it supports video and supplies enough power for your laptop; a USB-C connector alone does not establish either feature or wattage.
  • Check whether the stand provides the height, tilt, swivel, and pivot adjustments your desk requires.
  • Measure the desk and viewing distance, and check the product’s full dimensions rather than relying on its diagonal size.

Verify price and availability in your region

Monitor prices and stock change over time and by retailer and region. Dell announced a US$799.99 launch price for the S3225QC, with worldwide availability beginning May 22, 2025; that is a historical launch figure, not its current retail price. Dell announced US$949.99 as the U3225QE launch price, with global availability beginning February 25, 2025; this is also historical, not a current price. Check live local listings for the models you are considering.

For a separate productivity alternative, RTINGS describes the Dell U3225QE as a premium 4K option with a USB hub and Thunderbolt 4. The cited recommendation does not establish its complete model-specific specifications here, so verify the current regional listing if considering it.
