Short answer: choose the Belkin Connect Thunderbolt 5 Dock (INC031ttSGY) for a Thunderbolt-capable workstation that needs more host power, faster networking, or high-refresh multi-monitor output. Choose the ASUS 11-in-1 USB-C Dock DC320 for a Windows 10-or-later desk that mainly needs common display connections, everyday USB ports, and moderate charging without Thunderbolt 5.

Those are not interchangeable choices. Your laptop’s port, operating system, monitor wiring, refresh-rate target, charging requirement, and local availability decide whether either dock will deliver its advertised maximum.

Belkin Connect Thunderbolt 5 Dock (INC031ttSGY) A Thunderbolt 5-class workstation, up to 140W host charging, 2.5Gb Ethernet, fast storage, or compatible high-refresh multi-display output. Your laptop must support a compatible Thunderbolt, USB4, or USB-C mode; Thunderbolt 3, ChromeOS, and Linux are excluded by Belkin’s detailed compatibility information. Display count depends on the host and operating system.
ASUS 11-in-1 USB-C Dock DC320 A Windows 10-or-later desk using HDMI and DisplayPort monitors, Gigabit Ethernet, USB-A peripherals, and up to 65W pass-through charging. Confirm that the laptop’s USB-C port carries video and supports the required number of displays. ASUS’s documentation does not establish every macOS, graphics, or MST combination.

All capabilities in this comparison are manufacturer specifications rather than independent test results. Belkin’s product page identifies the dock as a 14-port model with a 180W power supply and a 1 m Thunderbolt 5 cable; ASUS documents the DC320 on regional Czech and Slovak pages.

ASUS 11-in-1 USB-C Dock, DC320

The ASUS model is the 11-in-1 USB-C Dock DC320. The Czech product page uses the 11-in-1 name, while the Slovak technical page lists the ports, display limits, charging input, and Windows requirement.

Do not substitute ASUS DC510

ASUS also sells a separate Master Thunderbolt 5 Dock DC510. It is not the DC320 and its Thunderbolt 5 capabilities must not be used to fill gaps in the USB-C dock’s specification. The separate model is documented on ASUS’s DC510 specification page.

The interface difference determines most of the outcome

What Thunderbolt 5 changes

Belkin’s dock is built around Thunderbolt 5. Belkin specifies 80Gbps bidirectional bandwidth and a Bandwidth Boost mode that can provide up to 120Gbps in one direction and 40Gbps in the other when a workload benefits from asymmetric traffic. That ceiling is useful for several fast displays, high-speed external storage, and other devices sharing one host cable, but it is not a promise that every laptop or peripheral will run at those rates.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

The dock can also connect to Thunderbolt 4, USB4, and USB-C hosts according to Belkin’s product information, but the connected host determines the fallback behavior. A USB-C computer without the required video or data features cannot gain them from the dock.

What conventional USB-C means on the DC320

ASUS specifies USB 3.2 Gen 2 data connections up to 10Gbps for the DC320. That is ample for keyboards, mice, storage used for ordinary file transfers, audio devices, and office peripherals, but it is a different class of shared bandwidth from Thunderbolt 5. The dock’s USB-C plug also needs a host port capable of carrying video if you want to use its HDMI and DisplayPort outputs.

Run this compatibility check before you order

  1. Look up the exact laptop model. Read its manufacturer’s technical specifications, not just the shape of the connector. Confirm whether the port is Thunderbolt 5, Thunderbolt 4, USB4, or USB-C with DisplayPort Alt Mode, and note the computer’s maximum external-display count.
  2. Confirm the operating system. Belkin’s detailed FAQ excludes ChromeOS and Linux and says the dock is not compatible with Thunderbolt 3 laptops or monitors, despite broader compatibility language elsewhere on the page. ASUS lists Windows 10 or later for the DC320; the consulted ASUS pages do not establish macOS support.
  3. Count the monitors and define the target refresh rate. Record each screen’s resolution, refresh rate, connector, and whether an adapter is required. A dock’s headline maximum is subordinate to the laptop GPU, operating system, cable, and display link.
  4. Check charging requirements. Compare the laptop manufacturer’s recommended charger wattage with the dock’s host-delivery claim. A performance laptop may continue to discharge under load if the dock cannot provide enough power, even when the dock remains connected.
  5. Check network needs. To use 2.5Gb Ethernet, every relevant link—computer, dock, switch or router, and cable—must negotiate at that speed. Otherwise the connection will operate at the fastest common rate.
  6. Verify the regional listing. Confirm the exact SKU, included power supply, language of the support page, price, stock, and return terms in your country. The ASUS evidence for DC320 is regional, and product availability can differ by market.

Charging: decide by the laptop, not the dock label

The Belkin dock’s higher host-power ceiling is the important distinction for a demanding workstation. It gives more headroom for laptops with powerful processors, discrete graphics, or several bus-powered peripherals. You still need to check whether your particular laptop accepts that level of USB Power Delivery; the laptop, not the dock alone, controls the negotiated draw.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

The DC320 is designed around a lower-power Windows desk. Its pass-through claim can cover many ultraportables and office systems, but it may not replace the original adapter for a high-performance notebook. If the computer reports “slow charger,” reduces performance, or loses charge during rendering, gaming, or compilation, connect the manufacturer’s charger directly and treat the dock as an I/O hub rather than the sole power source.

Both docks require their own power arrangement. Do not assume a USB-C cable plugged into a monitor or another hub can supply the same host charging as the dock’s dedicated power input. Use the supplied or correctly rated power hardware and inspect the laptop’s charging status after connecting.

Displays: headline maximums need host-specific checks

Belkin’s three-display, high-refresh path

Belkin lists up to three displays at up to 4K/144Hz for compatible configurations. That is the more attractive specification for a high-refresh desk, but the word “compatible” is decisive. The laptop’s GPU, Thunderbolt implementation, display connectors, operating system, cable versions, and monitor bandwidth all affect the result.

Belkin states that Thunderbolt 4 and USB4 laptops are limited to two video streams, allocated first plugged, first served. If a third monitor remains blank, unplug the displays, connect the two most important screens first, and confirm the host’s documented stream limit rather than assuming the dock is defective.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Mac support is chip-dependent in Belkin’s own compatibility information. The vendor lists one external display for M1, M2, and M3 systems, up to two for several specified M-series families, and three for M5 Pro and M5 Max systems. Because Apple model variants differ, check the exact Mac identifier and its current display support before purchase.

ASUS’s conventional three-output layout

The DC320 provides one HDMI 2.0 output and two DisplayPort 1.4 outputs. ASUS advertises up to three 4K monitors, while its individual-output specification lists 4K at 60Hz. That makes it a practical match for office panels and productivity setups that already use HDMI and DisplayPort cables.

Three physical outputs do not guarantee three independent screens on every USB-C laptop. Some computers expose only one video stream over USB-C, some require DisplayPort Multi-Stream Transport, and operating-system support varies. ASUS’s cited documentation does not resolve every graphics, MST, or macOS condition, so verify the laptop manufacturer’s multi-monitor limit before relying on all three outputs.

Plan the cabling

  • Use the monitor’s native input where possible instead of stacking several passive adapters.
  • Connect the highest-priority display first when the host has a documented stream limit.
  • Match the cable and adapter to the desired resolution and refresh rate; a lower-rated link can silently reduce the available mode.
  • After connection, open the operating system’s display settings and set the intended arrangement and refresh rate. Do not treat a picture appearing at 30Hz as proof that the advertised maximum is working.

Ports and networking: where the daily difference appears

Belkin is the more capable expansion hub for media and high-speed data work. Full-size SD 4.0 and microSD 4.0 readers suit cameras and removable storage, while downstream Thunderbolt and USB ports leave more room for fast external devices. Its 2.5Gb Ethernet port can shorten transfers to a suitable network-attached storage system, provided the rest of the network supports the faster link.

  • Please Note: To reach 10Gbps speed, keep the cable under 3.3 ft. For USB A Male to USB C adapters, try flipping the USB C connector. USB C Male to USB A adapters support bidirectional 10Gbps transfer within 3.3 ft

The DC320 favors familiar office connectivity: three USB-A ports for legacy peripherals, two USB-C data ports, one HDMI output, two DisplayPort outputs, Gigabit Ethernet, and 3.5 mm audio. It is a sensible layout when the desk already has conventional monitors and USB accessories and does not need card readers or multi-gigabit networking.

Ethernet speed is negotiated, not forced. A 2.5Gb dock connected to a 1Gb switch will run at 1Gb, just as the DC320 cannot exceed Gigabit Ethernet. Check the negotiated link speed in the operating system after installation if network performance matters.

When the Belkin dock is the better choice

Use it for a high-bandwidth workstation

Select Belkin when one cable must connect several demanding devices: high-resolution or high-refresh monitors, fast external storage, a card reader, and a multi-gigabit network. Thunderbolt 5 provides substantially more shared bandwidth than the DC320’s USB 3.2 Gen 2 data path, so it leaves more headroom when several devices are active together.

Use it when host charging is a deciding constraint

A laptop that routinely needs more than the ASUS dock can deliver is a strong candidate for Belkin. Confirm the notebook’s own USB Power Delivery acceptance and charger requirement; the dock’s published ceiling is not a guarantee for every host.

Use it for a compatible high-refresh display array

For a laptop and monitors that can actually use the advertised three-display, 4K/144Hz configuration, Belkin is the more ambitious option. Verify the exact operating system and graphics architecture first, especially on Mac systems and on Thunderbolt 4 or USB4 hosts.

When the ASUS DC320 is the better choice

Use it for a Windows office or study desk

The DC320 fits a Windows 10-or-later computer that needs HDMI and DisplayPort outputs, USB-A accessories, audio, and wired networking from one USB-C connection. It avoids paying for Thunderbolt-class bandwidth that the host and peripherals will not use.

Use it when 4K/60Hz is sufficient

If your monitors target ordinary 4K/60Hz productivity modes rather than high-refresh gaming or specialist visualization, the DC320’s documented output specification aligns with that requirement. Confirm that the laptop can drive the number of screens you plan to attach.

Use it when local availability matters more than maximum bandwidth

The ASUS evidence available for this model is regional, so compare the exact local SKU and seller. If it is readily available in your market and your requirements fit its USB-C and Windows limits, that may outweigh the Belkin page’s dated US out-of-stock notice.

Installation procedure for either dock

  1. Update the host first. Install the laptop maker’s current firmware, graphics driver, chipset updates, and operating-system updates. Firmware can affect USB-C, Thunderbolt, display, and sleep behavior.
  2. Shut down unnecessary connections. Disconnect other hubs, monitor daisy chains, and adapters while establishing the first working configuration. This removes extra variables during troubleshooting.
  3. Connect dock power. Attach the dock’s dedicated power supply and wait for its status indicators, if present, before attaching the host.
  4. Use the correct host cable. Connect the supplied cable or a replacement rated for the dock’s interface. A charge-only USB-C cable cannot carry the required data or video signals.
  5. Attach one display. Start with the primary monitor on its native HDMI or DisplayPort connection. Confirm that the operating system detects it at the desired resolution and refresh rate.
  6. Add peripherals one at a time. Connect Ethernet, keyboard, mouse, storage, audio, and additional displays separately. Testing in stages identifies which device or cable causes a failure.
  7. Check charging and link status. Verify that the laptop reports the expected charging state and that Ethernet negotiates at the speed your network supports.
  8. Save the working layout. Label cables and note which display was connected first. That information is useful if the host allocates video streams by connection order.

Troubleshooting branches

No display signal

  • Confirm the laptop port supports video output; USB-C connector shape alone is insufficient.
  • Reseat the host cable at both ends and test a direct monitor connection to isolate the laptop.
  • Select the monitor’s correct input and remove intermediate adapters or daisy chains.
  • For Belkin, verify that the host is not a Thunderbolt 3 system and that it is not running ChromeOS or Linux, which Belkin’s detailed FAQ excludes.

Only one or two monitors work

  • Check the laptop’s published external-display limit and graphics architecture.
  • On a Thunderbolt 4 or USB4 host using Belkin, connect displays in the required order because Belkin says video streams are allocated first plugged, first served.
  • On the DC320, confirm USB-C video support and the laptop’s MST capability; three sockets on the dock do not create extra GPU outputs.
  • Lower the refresh rate temporarily to determine whether the cable, adapter, or monitor bandwidth is the limiting factor.

The laptop charges slowly or loses charge

  • Compare the computer’s required charger wattage with the dock’s host-delivery specification.
  • Use the dock’s dedicated power input and a properly rated host cable.
  • Test with high-power USB peripherals disconnected. If charging recovers, the host is sharing available power among devices.
  • For a performance notebook, reconnect its original charger directly when the dock cannot sustain the workload.

Ethernet is slower than expected

  • Check the negotiated speed rather than relying on the dock label.
  • Verify that the switch or router port, cable, and computer all support the target rate.
  • Test without a second hub or power-line adapter in the path.

Devices disconnect after sleep

  • Install current host firmware and operating-system updates.
  • Test the dock with one peripheral at a time to identify a device that does not resume cleanly.
  • Try a full shutdown and power cycle of the dock, then reconnect the host before adding displays and USB devices.

Price, stock, and regional buying cautions

Belkin’s US product page listed the INC031ttSGY at $349.99 and showed an out-of-stock or coming-soon status when accessed on October 13, 2026. That is a dated snapshot, not a permanent price or an assurance that every region has the same stock.

The ASUS DC320 pages used for the specifications are Czech and Slovak regional pages. They establish the model and its published capabilities but do not establish US pricing or availability. Confirm the seller, exact model number, warranty coverage, included power hardware, return policy, and local electrical requirements before paying.

A final purchase checklist

  • Laptop: exact model, port standard, video capability, and maximum external displays.
  • Operating system: Windows, macOS, or another platform checked against the dock’s documented support.
  • Monitors: number, resolution, refresh rate, input type, and cable or adapter requirements.
  • Power: laptop charger requirement compared with the dock’s host-delivery limit.
  • Network: whether Gigabit is enough or the entire path can use 2.5Gb Ethernet.
  • Peripherals: need for SD or microSD readers, USB-A, USB-C data, Thunderbolt, and audio.
  • Market: current regional price, stock, warranty, and exact SKU.

Verdict

For a compatible Thunderbolt 5 workstation, Belkin’s dock is the stronger fit: it offers the higher bandwidth class, greater host-power headroom, 2.5Gb networking, card readers, and the possibility of a high-refresh multi-display setup. Buy it only after checking the laptop and operating-system exceptions.

For a Windows 10-or-later desk built around HDMI and DisplayPort monitors, USB-A accessories, Gigabit Ethernet, and moderate charging, the ASUS DC320 is the more proportionate choice. Its three-display and 4K claims still require a laptop with matching USB-C graphics support, and its regional documentation means you should verify the exact local listing before ordering.
