Verdict: Belkin’s SoundForm ANC is a $39 children’s over-ear headset that gets the practical basics right—Bluetooth, a 3.5mm cable, audio sharing and very long battery life—but its active noise cancellation (ANC) is weak, and its relatively heavy fit may bother some children. It is a sensible budget choice when flexibility and durability matter more than quiet surroundings or polished sound.
What the Belkin SoundForm ANC offers
Tom’s Guide’s 2026 review lists the SoundForm ANC at $39. It is designed for children and includes 40mm drivers, an 85 dBA volume limit, USB-C charging, Bluetooth and 3.5mm wired operation, IPX4 water resistance, and a rated weight of 10.2 ounces (289 grams).

The matte-finish frame withstood drop tests and twisting in the review without feeling immediately fragile. That is reassuring for a child’s daily headset, although the folding hinge looks like the likeliest break point over time. The box includes a cloth carrying bag, a USB-A-to-USB-C charging cable and a 3.5mm audio cable.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Fit depends on the wearer. An adult tester eventually found the earcups tight, while the reviewer’s son had no ear-cup complaints. The larger concern was weight: at 10.2 ounces, these were the heaviest children’s headphones in the reviewer’s comparison. The son specifically found the headband uncomfortable during longer Nintendo Switch 2 sessions. For short trips or occasional use that may not matter; for all-day wearing, a lighter model deserves consideration.
Sound quality: clear enough, not refined
The tuning is bright with some echo. Voices, mids and treble remain understandable, but bass is shallow, so music and game effects lack depth. Children who are not especially interested in audio quality will probably find the presentation acceptable. Premium adult headphones sound more balanced and detailed, but that level of refinement is not what the $39 price is targeting.

The most convincing listening mode in the review was wired with the headset powered off. Turning the electronics on introduced a muffled character, which became more obvious when ANC was enabled.

Do not buy the SoundForm ANC primarily for noise cancellation. In an office test, the reviewer heard no meaningful reduction in keyboard noise with ANC on compared with ANC off. Instead, ANC appeared to muffle the program audio itself.

That makes the feature a drawback rather than a selling point. It may provide some limited benefit against steady background sound, but the review does not establish effective cancellation for aircraft cabins, busy classrooms or loud public transport. If reducing external noise is the priority, compare models with independently verified ANC performance and test comfort with the feature enabled.
Battery, wired use and family features
Battery endurance is a clear strength. The quoted figures are up to 60 hours with ANC disabled and 45 hours with ANC enabled. Those are manufacturer-style maximums reported in the review, so actual runtime will vary with volume, wireless conditions and usage. USB-C charging is convenient, while the included 3.5mm cable lets a child continue listening when the battery is empty or wireless use is restricted.

Bluetooth and wired modes both worked cleanly in the review. The two-headphone sharing options are useful for siblings or a parent and child watching the same tablet: connect one unit normally, then use the headphone-port method or RockStar Mode to send the audio to a second SoundForm ANC.
How it compares on price and priorities
The SoundForm ANC sits in the budget middle ground. Tom’s Guide listed the following prices in its 2026 comparison:
Best Value
- 5-in-1 Connectivity: Equipped with a 4K HDMI port, a 5 Gbps USB-C data port, two 5 Gbps USB-A ports, and a USB C 100W PD-IN port. Note: The USB C 100W PD-IN port supports only charging and does not support data transfer devices such as headphones or speakers.
- Powerful Pass-Through Charging: Supports up to 85W pass-through charging so you can power up your laptop while you use the hub. Note: Pass-through charging requires a charger (not included). Note: To achieve full power for iPad, we recommend using a 45W wall charger.
- Transfer Files in Seconds: Move files to and from your laptop at speeds of up to 5 Gbps via the USB-C and USB-A data ports. Note: The USB C 5Gbps Data port does not support video output.
- HD Display: Connect to the HDMI port to stream or mirror content to an external monitor in resolutions of up to 4K@30Hz. Note: The USB-C ports do not support video output.
- What You Get: Anker 332 USB-C Hub (5-in-1), welcome guide, our worry-free 18-month warranty, and friendly customer service.
| Model | Listed price | How the review positioned it |
|---|---|---|
| Belkin SoundForm ANC | $39 | Low-cost option with wired/wireless flexibility and sharing |
| iClever Auraa | $39 | Same listed price |
| Puro Sound Lab BT2200s | $99 | Higher-priced alternative |
| JBL Junior 320s | $20 | Lower-priced alternative |
The reviewer preferred the iClever Q950 overall, while noting that it costs about twice as much as the Belkin. That preference reflects the trade-off: the SoundForm ANC does not lead on sound, weight or ANC, but it costs less while offering more connection choices than many basic kids’ headphones.

Choose it when
- You want a children’s headset around $39 rather than a premium model.
- Both Bluetooth and 3.5mm wired listening are important.
- Long battery life matters more than top-tier audio.
- You need a way for two SoundForm ANC units to share one audio source.
- Your child’s typical listening sessions are short enough that the weight is unlikely to cause discomfort.
Look elsewhere when
- Effective ANC is the deciding feature.
- Your child is sensitive to pressure or headband weight.
- You expect deep bass or adult-headphone-level detail.
- The headset will be worn continuously for long gaming or travel sessions.
Buying checklist
- Confirm the current retailer price and stock; the $39 figure is the price reported by Tom’s Guide in 2026, not a guaranteed ongoing price.
- Measure the child’s expected wearing time. Try the fit for an extended session before relying on it for travel or school.
- Keep the 3.5mm cable available for flights, low-battery situations and devices that restrict Bluetooth.
- Use the 85 dBA volume limit as a safeguard, while still checking the source device’s volume and encouraging listening breaks.
- Inspect the folding hinge periodically, since it is the design area most likely to suffer damage.
Bottom line
The Belkin SoundForm ANC is an uncomplicated, affordable kids’ headset whose strongest arguments are connection flexibility, sharing features, durability and battery life. Its weak ANC, muffled powered-on sound and above-average weight keep it from being a standout. For families that want a reasonably tough $39 headset and can live without serious noise cancellation, “middle of the road” is a perfectly practical result.
