The Beko BBM407PX is a 353-litre-net, freestanding, frost-free bottom-mount fridge-freezer, but its status as a discontinued model makes availability and support the first things to verify. Beko’s regional specifications describe useful storage and features such as separate fridge and freezer cooling; the available CHOICE listing does not show independent performance scores, so it cannot establish how well the unit cools, how noisy it is in practice or how reliable it is.
What the BBM407PX offers
This is a freestanding refrigerator-freezer with the freezer below the fresh-food compartment. Beko Australia lists a platinum finish and dimensions of 172 cm high, 70 cm wide and 67 cm deep. Beko New Zealand lists the same dimensions. The older Australian specification sheet gives unpackaged dimensions of 1720 × 700 × 660 mm, noting depth including the doors; check the rating label and documentation for the specific unit and market before planning a fit.

Use net litres when comparing usable storage with another appliance. The older 407 L gross figure measures a different volume basis and should not be read as 54 L of extra usable space.

Energy, noise and freezing specifications
Beko New Zealand lists a 3.5-star energy rating, annual consumption of 365 kWh at 32°C, daily consumption of 1.0 kWh at 32°C, noise of 39 dBA, SN-T climate class and freezing capacity of 5 kg per day. These are manufacturer specifications, not independently verified household results. The CHOICE listing also records 365 kWh per year as a claimed figure and says the model was tested in 2018, but it does not expose its detailed energy, noise or refrigerator-performance results.
Do not turn the annual-consumption figure into an expected bill without considering your electricity tariff, climate, installation and use. Star ratings and test conditions can also differ by country, so compare models using the same jurisdiction’s label and conditions rather than treating regional ratings as interchangeable.

Features: useful on paper, not proof of performance
Beko lists NeoFrost dual cooling, a ProSmart inverter compressor, Active Fresh Blue Light, an Active Odour Filter, reversible doors and vacation mode. Beko describes NeoFrost as separate cooling systems for the fridge and freezer, intended to maintain airflow and temperatures in both compartments. Its claims about freshness, odour control, vitamin preservation, quietness and energy savings are manufacturer claims; the accessible independent listing does not provide results that verify them for this model.

Is there independent evidence behind the review?
CHOICE has a model-specific listing, marks the BBM407PX discontinued and gives 2018 as the year tested. Its detailed performance, energy, noise, reliability and satisfaction results are members-only. The public listing therefore does not support a pass-or-fail verdict on cooling, real-world energy use, noise or long-term reliability. No accessible independent score or owner-survey result is established here.

Warranty coverage can depend on country, purchase date, registration and the exact terms for the unit, so obtain the applicable written terms rather than relying on the older sheet.

Before buying a clearance or second-hand appliance, verify:
- The exact model and serial number on the appliance label.
- That it cools and freezes properly, and that the shelves and drawers you need are present.
- Whether any warranty remains and who provides service; ask about parts availability.
- The seller’s return terms, delivery and installation costs, and responsibility for removing the old appliance.
- Your available space, door swing, ventilation clearances and delivery route through entrances, halls and stairs, checked against the specific unit’s manual.
How to compare it with another fridge-freezer
Compare on matching terms rather than headline figures. Check net fridge and freezer litres separately; measure height, width and depth along with clearances and door swing; compare energy labels from the same market and test basis; and treat published dBA figures as manufacturer specifications unless an independent test is available. For a discontinued model, parts support, warranty coverage and a seller’s return policy are especially relevant to the ownership decision.

The BBM407PX may suit a household looking for a 70 cm-wide bottom-mount unit with 269 L of refrigerator space and 84 L of freezer space, provided the dimensions work. But the evidence available publicly does not establish independent cooling, noise or reliability performance, and availability appears limited. Consider it only after confirming the exact unit’s condition, fit, local support and applicable warranty; do not treat the listed features or energy figures as proof of real-world results.
