For a long-haul flight, Beats Studio Pro may be the more practical pick if you plan to use the seat-back entertainment system: it has a 3.5 mm wired input, while Beats 360 does not. That lets Studio Pro connect directly to a compatible headphone jack, and a T3 review reports that basic wired audio still works when the headphones’ battery is depleted. Beats 360 is the newer model with advantages such as interchangeable cushions, an IPX4 rating, and a higher manufacturer-stated playback figure with ANC on. The better choice depends on whether those upgrades outweigh a reliable wired connection for your trip.
Why the wired connection matters on a flight
Many seat-back entertainment systems provide a headphone jack, but the exact connection available depends on the aircraft and seat. Studio Pro has a 3.5 mm analog input, so it can connect directly when the seat has a compatible jack. Beats 360 has no wired audio connection, so it cannot use that direct route. Neither headphone guarantees access to a particular airline’s entertainment system; check your seat’s connections if that feature matters.
The distinction is also useful as a backup. T3 reports that Studio Pro can play basic audio through a wired connection even when its battery is depleted. That does not mean its active noise cancellation (ANC) will keep working without power: the review says ANC depends on the headphones’ electronics.

What changes if you choose Beats 360?
Beats’ official comparison lists interchangeable cushion options and IPX4 sweat and water resistance for Beats 360. Those features may matter more for everyday wear or workouts than for seat-back entertainment. The same comparison gives Beats 360 a higher claimed playback figure with ANC on than Studio Pro, though both figures are manufacturer specifications rather than independent test results.
#1 Best Overall
- INCREDIBLE SOUND: Custom acoustic platform delivers rich, balanced audio for music, calls and everyday listening.
- LOSSLESS AUDIO SUPPORT: USB-C lossless audio and sound profiles optimize music quality across devices and environments. Additional option to use the 3.5 mm cable for a standard analog experience.
- ACTIVE NOISE CANCELLING (ANC): block distractions at work, on flights or during your daily commute. Or use Transparency mode to let the sounds of your environment mix in with your music.
- SEAMLESS WIRELESS CONNECTIVITY: One-touch pairing with Apple & Android for easy switching across devices.
- SPATIAL AUDIO IMMERSION: Personalized dynamic head tracking, 360-degree sound for movies, music and immersive everyday listening.
The T3 reviewer also describes the 360’s sound and ANC favorably. Those are the reviewer’s impressions, not a guarantee that every listener will hear or experience the same improvement. The official comparison supports the listed features and specifications, not a universal performance ranking.
Battery life: compare like with like
Runtime claims depend on whether ANC is enabled. Beats’ comparison page, accessed October 7, 2026, lists up to 32 hours for Beats 360 with ANC on and up to 24 hours for Studio Pro with ANC on. These are manufacturer-stated maximums, not independent measurements; actual playback time can vary with use.

Apple’s Studio Pro product page, accessed October 7, 2026, lists up to 40 hours with ANC off. Because that figure uses a different condition, it should not be compared directly with the ANC-on figures as though all three describe the same listening setup.
When Studio Pro is the better flight choice
- You expect to watch the seat-back system and want to connect directly to a compatible 3.5 mm jack.
- You prefer wired playback as a backup if the battery runs out.
- You would rather avoid relying on an aircraft’s Bluetooth support or carrying another device.
A Bluetooth transmitter plugged into an aircraft headphone jack is a possible workaround for Beats 360, but it adds another device to carry and charge. T3 notes that Bluetooth pairing is not universal across aircraft and airlines, so do not assume a transmitter or onboard wireless option will work on every flight.

When Beats 360 is the better fit
- You value the interchangeable cushion options or the IPX4 sweat and water resistance listed by Beats.
- You want the higher of the two stated ANC-on playback figures, understanding that both are manufacturer claims.
- You do not expect to use seat-back audio, or you have confirmed a workable wireless setup for your flight.
Prices are a snapshot, not a lasting comparison
When Beats’ comparison page was accessed on October 7, 2026, it displayed $349.99 for Beats 360 and $299.99 for Studio Pro. Those are dated listing prices, not guaranteed current prices; check the page before buying. The difference should not outweigh the connection features that matter most for your trip.
