Backup4all Professional 9 is a Windows file-backup program with full, differential, incremental, mirror, and publisher-described smart backup modes. It supports local and external drives, network and remote locations, and multiple cloud services. PCWorld praised its feature range and job-management capabilities, but its review also identifies two important limits: the software does not create disk images, and a job cannot write to multiple destinations.
The review concerns the version 9 major release, not the newest 9.x build. Softland’s product page listed version 9.9.1044, released March 31, 2026, when accessed for this article. Check the current product page for updated release details.
What Backup4all Professional 9 does
Backup4all Professional is file-backup software for Windows. You choose files or folders, configure a backup job, and select a destination and backup method. The publisher describes Professional as its full-featured edition; Standard and Lite have more limited functionality.

Which backup modes are available?
The publisher lists four conventional methods and a smart option. The practical difference is how much data each run copies and how the job retains prior file versions.

Where can it back up files?
Professional supports a broad set of destinations: local and external drives, network locations, optical and removable media, FTP/FTPS/SFTP, and cloud storage. The publisher lists Google Drive, Google Cloud Storage, Microsoft OneDrive, Azure, Dropbox, Amazon S3, Box, HiDrive, and S3-compatible services. The 2024 user manual also describes external hard drives, network drives, optical media, removable media, FTP/SFTP, and cloud destinations.
Version 9 added cloud and FTP/SFTP sources as well as the option to combine source types in one job—for example, local files together with cloud data. These details describe supported locations; they do not establish that every provider or connection has identical setup steps or behavior.

What features help manage and protect jobs?
Softland lists standard ZIP and ZIP64 archives, AES-256 encryption, block-level backup for large files, and email notifications. PCWorld’s review also highlights scheduling, logging, backup testing, cleanup of older backups, and plugins for application data. Treat these as listed capabilities and review observations rather than independently verified test results.
The publisher’s product page listed 255 free backup plugins when accessed in 2026. PCWorld’s review text gives 253, an apparent difference in page counts or dates; use the publisher’s live page for a current count. The 2024 manual describes CRC32 backup testing.

What are the important limitations?
No system imaging
PCWorld reports that Backup4all does not create disk images. Its mirror mode can keep ordinary files in a plain-file form, but that is not a substitute for an image of a system drive. If your recovery plan requires restoring Windows and the computer’s full drive state as a single image, this review does not establish that Backup4all can do that.

One destination per job
PCWorld also notes that a backup job cannot target multiple destinations. If you want copies on separate drives or in both local and cloud storage, plan for separate jobs or another workflow; the review does not describe an automatic multi-destination job feature.

How current is version 9?
“Professional 9” refers to the version 9 major release reviewed by PCWorld. Softland’s version 9.0 release notes are dated April 29, 2021. The publisher’s product page listed version 9.9.1044, dated March 31, 2026, when accessed for this article. That distinction matters: the review’s verdict applies to the reviewed version and should not be treated as a fresh hands-on evaluation of every later 9.x build. What did it cost?
Softland’s purchase page displayed US$49.99 for Backup4all Professional 9 when accessed in 2026. The page described a one-time payment with no recurring license fees, required one license per computer, and noted that VAT or sales tax may be added.
