Bandai is adding Azumanga Daioh to its Machiboke (“Still Waiting for You”) Gashapon series with five small figures of Osaka-san (Ayumu Kasuga). Each painted PVC figure costs 500 yen including tax through Gashapon Online, and online orders are scheduled for delivery around late February 2027.
What the Machiboke Osaka set includes
Machiboke is a Bandai Gashapon original deformed-figure line built around the idea 「ずっとあなたを待っている…」—“I’ve been waiting for you…” The figures remain in a waiting pose, giving the collection its deliberately fragile, slightly lonely cuteness.
This is Azumanga Daioh’s first Machiboke release. Rather than spreading the set across several characters, Bandai uses Osaka-san in all five designs, based on a newly drawn illustration by series creator Kiyohiko Azuma.
| Variant | Caption | What you receive |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | まっとるでー | Painted Osaka figure |
| 2 | ひまやなー | Painted Osaka figure |
| 3 | まだかなー | Painted Osaka figure |
| 4 | まちぼうけやー | Painted Osaka figure |
| 5 | もうまてへんー | Painted Osaka figure |
The captions are written in Osaka’s distinctive Kansai-flavored speech. Two of the five figures include support parts, while the other three are listed without them.
#1 Best Overall
- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Size, materials and age rating
- Material: painted PVC
- Height: approximately 5–7 cm, depending on the variant
- Contents: five variants, with support parts on two designs
- Age rating: 15 and up
- Price: 500 yen per online play, including tax
The 15+ rating means this is a display collectible rather than a toy intended for young children. Small parts and the support components should be kept away from children below the stated age.
When and how to preorder
Gashapon Online listed the preorder period from October 2, 2026, at 11:00 through October 25, 2026, at 23:59. Orders can close before the stated deadline if the allocated stock is exhausted, so the end date is not a guarantee that inventory will remain available.

- What You Get: Anker USB-C Hub (5-in-1, 4K HDMI), welcome guide, 18-month warranty, and our friendly customer service.
- Open the Azumanga Daioh Machiboke product page on Bandai Namco’s Gashapon Online service.
- Check that the order window is still open and review the displayed shipping region and payment requirements.
- Choose the number of plays you want and complete checkout at 500 yen per play, including tax.
- Keep the order confirmation; the listed online delivery period is around late February 2027.
Online Gashapon plays are random. Buying five plays costs 2,500 yen before any shipping or service charges, but it does not guarantee five different variants; duplicates are possible. Collectors who want the complete set should account for that risk rather than treating five plays as a complete-set purchase.
Online preorder versus capsule machines
| Option | Timing | Best for | Main uncertainty |
|---|---|---|---|
| Gashapon Online preorder | Delivery around late February 2027 | Securing access before broad retail circulation | Orders may close when allocated stock sells out; plays are random |
| Physical capsule machines | May appear earlier than online deliveries | Collectors who can visit participating locations | Machine locations, launch dates and local stock were not specified |
| Secondary market | After someone receives or finds the figures | Targeting one specific caption or completing a set with fewer random pulls | Resale price, seller reliability and authenticity vary |
Bandai’s listing notes that capsule-machine sales may begin before the online shipment. That possibility is not a confirmed date or worldwide launch schedule, so availability depends on location and individual machine inventory.

What a complete collection may cost
The official unit price is fixed at 500 yen including tax. A single play is therefore 500 yen; five plays total 2,500 yen before any additional delivery or handling charges. Because each play is random, the actual cost of obtaining all five can be higher if duplicates appear. Buying individual figures from a reputable reseller can reduce duplication, but resale prices and authenticity are not established by the official listing.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Why Osaka is the focus
Osaka-san, whose full name is Ayumu Kasuga, is the character selected for every design in this debut. The new Azuma illustration is adapted into five waiting poses and captions rather than presenting a mixed-character assortment. That format makes the set cohesive while giving fans several expressions of the same character.
