Ja, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora lässt sich laut Ubisoft nach dem ersten Start offline im Einzelspieler spielen – aber nicht ganz ohne vorherige Internetverbindung. Der obligatorische Day-1-Patch muss heruntergeladen und das Spiel einmal gestartet werden. Koop bleibt eine Onlinefunktion.
Was braucht es für den ersten Start?
Ubisoft erklärte am 5. Dezember 2023, dass der Day-1-Patch zum Spielen erforderlich ist und eine einmalige Internetverbindung voraussetzt. Erst nachdem ihr den Patch geladen und das Spiel gestartet habt, soll der Einzelspieler offline spielbar sein. „Offline spielbar“ bedeutet daher nicht, dass das Spiel vom ersten Moment an ohne Verbindung eingerichtet und gestartet werden kann.

Ubisoft beschreibt die Voraussetzung in der Mitteilung Before You Play Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. Sie bezieht sich auf den von Ubisoft angekündigten Day-1-Patch und ist keine Aussage, dass spätere Updates oder Änderungen niemals eine Verbindung erfordern.

Welche Konten- und Plattformanforderungen gelten?

Der deutsche Ubisoft-PC-Store nennt ein Ubisoft-Konto als erforderlich. Internet wird dort für Patch-Downloads, den Spielstart, Onlinefunktionen und zusätzliche Inhalte aufgeführt. Das sind Angaben zur PC-Fassung und sollten nicht pauschal als identische Anforderungen für jede Plattform gelesen werden. Details stehen auf der deutschen PC-Produktseite von Ubisoft.
PS5
Für Online-Multiplayer beziehungsweise Onlinefunktionen nennt der PlayStation Store Internet, ein Ubisoft-Konto, ein PlayStation-Network-Konto und PlayStation Plus. Diese Hinweise betreffen die dort beschriebenen Onlinefunktionen; sie ändern nicht Ubisofts Aussage, dass der Einzelspieler nach dem erforderlichen Patch offline spielbar ist. - Verbindet eure Plattform mit dem Internet und ladet den erforderlichen Day-1-Patch herunter.
- Startet das Spiel einmal, solange die Verbindung verfügbar ist.
- Wenn ihr Koop nutzen möchtet, plant weiterhin eine Internetverbindung ein. Für die Offline-Einzelspielerpartie sollte der Patch und der erste Start vorher erledigt sein.
Das ist die praktische Folgerung aus Ubisofts Startvoraussetzung, keine unabhängig bestätigte Garantie für jeden späteren Update- oder Plattformfall. Ubisoft veröffentlichte die Offline-Angabe am 5.
