AutoStore’s Fall 2026 announcement adds capabilities across fulfillment, warehouse planning and fleet operations rather than introducing one standalone machine. FlexBinsPort targets mixed-height bins at a single workstation; AutoCase adds full-case handling alongside each-picking; Pio Pal brings robotic picking to smaller operations through Robotics-as-a-Service; and new Cube software applies AI to investment modeling, system design and maintenance.
The detailed announcement was issued October 13, 2026. AutoStore gives FlexBinsPort a Q4 2026 release window, while AutoCase and additional Pio Pal adoption are planned for Q1 2027. Performance figures and savings percentages below are AutoStore estimates or product claims, not independently validated results.
What AutoStore announced for Fall 2026
The lineup is designed to move an AutoStore deployment toward more autonomous operation in stages: improve how goods are stored and picked, model and configure systems before installation, then use live operational data to maintain multiple sites. AutoStore Chief Product Officer and President Parth Joshi described the approach this way: “Autonomy should not require businesses to take a leap of faith.”
Each product addresses a different operating question, so the practical comparison is by workflow and deployment stage rather than by treating the names as interchangeable products.

Fulfillment hardware and picking workflows
FlexBinsPort mixes bin heights at one workstation
FlexBinsPort is intended to let a single workstation handle all standard AutoStore bin heights. That removes the need to separate work by bin size when an operation stores mixed inventory, potentially simplifying replenishment and picking flows.
AutoStore estimates 10–15% better storage utilization while also increasing labor efficiency. Those are company estimates for the announced product, not results from an independent warehouse study. The stated release window is Q4 2026; no specific launch date or market-by-market availability date was provided.
AutoCase combines case and each-picking
AutoCase adds full-case handling to the same AutoStore environment used for each-picking individual items. AutoStore says the system will support cases up to 600 × 400 millimeters beginning in Q1 2027.

Multiple stations can work on the same task group in parallel, allowing a continuous flow of cases to downstream palletizing and packaging. The announcement identifies live environments at Nowaste Logistics in Sweden and Komplett in Norway. Those named deployments demonstrate current use, but the release does not provide customer-specific throughput, labor or return-on-investment results.
Pio Pal targets smaller businesses with Robotics-as-a-Service
Pio Pal is a robotic picking option offered through a lower-commitment Robotics-as-a-Service model. It is aimed at smaller businesses that may not want the capital commitment or implementation scope of a larger automation project.
For pre-picked orders, AutoStore reports up to 540 order lines per hour at the workstation. The company also says its pre-picking capabilities can raise performance by up to three times without additional labor. These figures describe AutoStore’s stated operating conditions and are not independent benchmark results.

AutoStore says single-line pre-picking addresses a flow that typically represents 40–60% of consumer e-commerce orders. That percentage is the company’s characterization in the announcement, not an independently corroborated industry measurement. Norwegian apparel brand Famme is identified as live, with further adoption planned for Q1 2027.

VersaAI expands robotic piece-picking
VersaAI and related piece-picking enhancements extend automation beyond moving bins. The announced functions include automated item induction, barcode scanning at the workstation and robotic cycle counting for automated inventory validation. AutoStore also says the workflows support more AutoStore configurations and that VersaAI can be deployed in both new and existing systems.

CubeExplore builds ROI scenarios
CubeExplore is a generative-AI ROI modeling tool for AutoStore partners and prospective customers. It uses operational benchmarks and comparable project data to build investment scenarios and business cases. The intended use is early-stage evaluation: testing assumptions about volume, labor and system scope before committing to a design.

Neither announcement provides prices, contract terms, implementation fees or guaranteed return-on-investment thresholds for CubeExplore or CubeStudio. Their value therefore depends on the quality of the operating data and assumptions supplied by the partner or customer.

AutoStore estimates CubeFleet could reduce unplanned downtime by 35–45%. This is a company estimate, not an independently verified reduction, and the release does not specify the baseline, measurement period or site mix behind it.
CubeAnalytics summarizes multiple sites
CubeAnalytics adds multi-site views and AI-powered fleet summaries. Operations teams can use those views to identify locations needing attention instead of reviewing each facility in isolation.
CubeVerse provides the broader intelligence foundation
AutoStore positions CubeVerse and AutoStore Intelligence as the wider software foundation for its autonomy roadmap. In practical terms, CubeExplore and CubeStudio address planning, while CubeAnalytics and CubeFleet address the performance and maintenance stage after systems are operating.

- Start with the bottleneck. Choose FlexBinsPort for mixed bin heights, AutoCase for case-plus-each workflows, Pio Pal for a lower-commitment robotic picking model, or VersaAI for piece-picking and inventory-validation tasks.
- Separate planning tools from operating products. CubeExplore and CubeStudio help test business cases and layouts before deployment; CubeFleet and CubeAnalytics are intended for systems already producing operational data.
- Check the evidence level. A named live customer, such as Nowaste Logistics, Komplett or Famme, is different from a company estimate such as the FlexBinsPort utilization range or CubeFleet downtime reduction.
- Validate local readiness. Confirm case dimensions, bin mix, workstation configuration, software integration, service processes and the applicable regional release window before approving a project.
What the announcement does not establish
