The ASUS Vivobook 16 F1607QA-MB082W is an Australian 16-inch Windows laptop with a Snapdragon X processor, 16 GB of onboard memory and a 512 GB SSD. Its listed hardware suits a large-screen everyday-work shortlist, but the published specifications alone cannot establish real-world speed, screen quality or battery life. Check the exact SKU: other F1607Q versions have different memory and storage.
What this exact Vivobook 16 configuration includes
ASUS identifies the MB082W as model F1607QA-MB082W, product number 90NB15Z1-M00680. The Australian listing pairs it with Windows 11 Home, a Snapdragon X X1 26 100 processor, 16 GB of memory and a 512 GB SSD. ASUS also lists lower-specification F1607Q family versions, so a listing that says only “Vivobook 16” is not enough to confirm this configuration. Check ASUS Australia’s model listing and match the full SKU before buying.
ASUS cautions that specifications may vary by model and country and can change without notice. Its Australian specification page states that drivers are compatible with Windows 11 version 24H2 or later. ASUS says the product was tested for Windows 11 compatibility and may encounter compatibility issues with Windows 10 or older operating systems.

Is it a good laptop for work?
The 16-inch, 16:10 screen gives more vertical workspace than a conventional 16:9 display at the same diagonal, which can be useful for documents, spreadsheets and web pages. ASUS specifies a 1920 × 1200 resolution, IPS-level LED panel, anti-glare finish, 60 Hz refresh rate and 300-nit brightness. Those are manufacturer specifications, not independent measurements of contrast, color accuracy or outdoor readability. The Australian specification excerpt does not state color-gamut coverage, and it does not identify this configuration as a touchscreen.

The Snapdragon X X1 26 100 is specified as an eight-core, eight-thread processor running at up to 2.97 GHz, with Qualcomm Adreno graphics. ASUS also lists a Qualcomm Hexagon NPU rated up to 45 TOPS. That TOPS figure is a vendor-stated capability, not a benchmark or evidence that a particular application will run faster. For specialist work, check that essential software and peripherals support Windows on this Snapdragon platform; the supplied specifications do not establish compatibility for specific applications.
Can you upgrade the memory or SSD?
Memory
The 16 GB LPDDR5X memory is onboard, and ASUS lists 16 GB as the maximum for this configuration. Treat the memory capacity as fixed when choosing between this laptop and another model; the specifications do not describe a RAM slot or a memory upgrade path.
Storage
ASUS lists one M.2 2280 PCIe 4.0 x4 slot and specifies that only single-sided SSDs are supported. A replacement or upgrade drive therefore needs to meet both the interface/form-factor requirements and the single-sided physical-design constraint. Do not assume that every M.2 2280 NVMe drive will fit.
CHOICE lists 400 GB of available user space for its exact-model listing, but does not explain how that capacity was measured. It is separate from ASUS’s stated 512 GB SSD capacity and should not be treated as a guaranteed usable-space figure for every unit.

- Other ports: Two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports, HDMI 2.1 TMDS and a 3.5 mm combo audio jack.
- Wireless: Wi-Fi 6E (802.11ax) and Bluetooth 5.3. ASUS notes that features and supported versions can depend on operating-system support and drivers; access to Wi-Fi’s 6 GHz band varies by country and regulation.
- Power: The battery is rated at 50 Wh, and ASUS specifies a 65 W USB-C adapter. Adapter inclusion varies by country, region and model, so confirm what comes with the unit being sold.
These specifications describe the laptop’s interfaces, not guaranteed compatibility with every dock, monitor or accessory. Check the accessory’s requirements and the laptop’s supported features before relying on a particular setup.

A 50 Wh battery capacity does not tell you how many hours the laptop lasts between charges. ASUS’s opened specification page gives capacity but no runtime result, and the accessible public CHOICE page does not expose its battery-test result. There is not enough public evidence here to give a measured battery-life estimate.
ASUS lists the laptop at 1.88 kg and 35.70 × 25.06 × 1.79–1.99 cm. Its listed camera is an FHD IR camera with a privacy shutter and Windows Hello support; security features include firmware TPM and Microsoft Pluton.
What the available review evidence says
CHOICE has a public listing for the exact F1607QA-MB082W model. Its accessible page identifies the Windows 11 Home configuration and shows a listed price of $1,399 AUD when accessed on 7 October 2026. That is a dated page observation, not a current universal selling price or a confirmed ASUS recommended price. CHOICE’s expert rating, test scores—including performance, battery and display—and tester comments are members-only on the accessible page, so they cannot support a claim about how the laptop performed in testing. See CHOICE’s review listing.
Quick Recap
What to verify before you buy
- Match the complete F1607QA-MB082W SKU and product number, not just the Vivobook 16 family name.
- Confirm the seller’s stated RAM, SSD, color, operating system and included power adapter; configurations and inclusions can vary by region.
- If you depend on specialist software or hardware, verify Windows on Snapdragon compatibility with its vendor.
- If you expect to expand storage, confirm that the chosen M.2 2280 PCIe 4.0 x4 SSD is single-sided and compatible.
- Compare current local prices and, when battery life or display quality matters, seek test results that disclose the test method and exact configuration.
