Choose the ROG Bulwark Dock DG310 if you want high-refresh 4K output, HDMI 2.1 features such as VRR, ALLM and HDR, three USB-A ports, or up to 80W delivered to the handheld. Choose the Lenovo Legion Go USB-C Dock if you mainly use a Legion Go with a 4K/60Hz display and want Lenovo’s officially listed dock, a smaller stand and a USB-C data port. Check the exact Lenovo revision before buying: Lenovo’s support page says 45W reaches the Legion Go, while its specification PDF says 65W.

Which dock is better for handheld gaming?

The ROG Bulwark Dock DG310 is the more capable display and connectivity dock. Its HDMI 2.1 output is specified for 3840×2160 at up to 144Hz or 7680×4320 at 30Hz, and ASUS lists HDR, variable refresh rate (VRR) and automatic low-latency mode (ALLM). It also has three USB-A ports and can provide up to 80W to a compatible handheld when paired with a suitable USB-C PD charger.

The Lenovo Legion Go USB-C Dock is the simpler, more directly matched accessory for Legion Go owners. Lenovo specifies HDMI 2.0, one external monitor, 4K at 60Hz or 2K at 120Hz, two USB-A ports, one USB-C data port and Gigabit Ethernet. Its integrated stand and 230mm cable are sized for the Legion Go dock design.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

For a television or monitor that can actually use 4K above 60Hz, VRR or ALLM, the DG310 is the better fit. For a Legion Go connected to a conventional 4K/60Hz screen, the Lenovo dock covers the essential functions with fewer display features. Neither dock includes a charger.

Display capability: HDMI 2.1 versus HDMI 2.0

What the DG310 can send to a monitor or TV

ASUS specifies 4K (3840×2160) at up to 144Hz and 8K (7680×4320) at 30Hz through the DG310’s HDMI 2.1 port. That is the higher ceiling of the two docks. A 144Hz 4K monitor can therefore receive a 144Hz signal from the dock when the handheld, game, cable and display all support that mode.

“Can run 4K 144Hz” describes the dock’s output specification, not a promise that every handheld game will render at 4K and 144 frames per second. The handheld’s graphics processor, the game’s settings, the monitor’s HDMI input and the cable determine whether that mode is usable in practice. If any link in the chain supports only 4K/60Hz, the system will negotiate that lower mode.

ASUS also lists HDR, VRR and ALLM. VRR can synchronize the display’s refresh rate to changing frame rates, while ALLM allows a compatible television to switch to its low-latency game mode. HDR requires a compatible game, operating system, display and correctly configured video path; the dock’s support does not create HDR content by itself.

What the Lenovo dock is designed to deliver

Lenovo specifies HDMI 2.0 output for one external monitor at 4K/60Hz or 2K/120Hz. That is sufficient for a typical 4K television, office monitor or 120Hz 1440p display, but it does not match the DG310’s stated 4K/144Hz or 8K/30Hz ceiling. Lenovo’s cited documents do not list VRR, ALLM or HDR, so those features should not be assumed when selecting the Lenovo dock.

  • 5-in-1 Connectivity: Equipped with a 4K HDMI port, a 5 Gbps USB-C data port, two 5 Gbps USB-A ports, and a USB C 100W PD-IN port. Note: The USB C 100W PD-IN port supports only charging and does not support data transfer devices such as headphones or speakers.
  • Powerful Pass-Through Charging: Supports up to 85W pass-through charging so you can power up your laptop while you use the hub. Note: Pass-through charging requires a charger (not included). Note: To achieve full power for iPad, we recommend using a 45W wall charger.
  • Transfer Files in Seconds: Move files to and from your laptop at speeds of up to 5 Gbps via the USB-C and USB-A data ports. Note: The USB C 5Gbps Data port does not support video output.
  • HD Display: Connect to the HDMI port to stream or mirror content to an external monitor in resolutions of up to 4K@30Hz. Note: The USB-C ports do not support video output.
  • What You Get: Anker 332 USB-C Hub (5-in-1), welcome guide, our worry-free 18-month warranty, and friendly customer service.

Both products drive one external display. Neither specification describes dual-monitor output, so a buyer needing two independent screens should use a dock explicitly rated for multiple displays instead.

Power delivery: the important Lenovo documentation conflict

ROG Bulwark Dock DG310

The DG310 has a USB-C PD input rated up to 100W and a fixed upstream USB-C cable rated to deliver up to 80W to the handheld. ASUS says the charger is not included and recommends a USB-C PD adapter rated at 100W or higher to reach the full 80W output. A lower-rated adapter can reduce the power available to the dock and handheld.

The 80W figure is a maximum dock output under the stated USB Power Delivery conditions. It is not the wattage of the charger in the box, because no charger is supplied, and it does not guarantee that every connected handheld accepts 80W.

Lenovo Legion Go USB-C Dock

Lenovo’s current support page lists USB-C power passthrough of up to 45W to the Legion Go. Lenovo’s specification PDF lists PD input up to 100W and 65W to the system. Those figures conflict, and the documents do not establish whether the difference comes from a product revision, regional SKU or documentation update.

Before purchase, compare the wattage printed on the exact product listing and packaging with the documentation for that unit. Treat 45W and 65W as separate published figures rather than combining them into a single guaranteed output. The dock also requires an external USB-C charger; the cited Lenovo materials do not indicate that one is included.

Ports and everyday peripherals

DG310 port layout

  • One HDMI 2.1 output for the external display.
  • Three USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports for accessories such as a keyboard, mouse, controller receiver or storage device.
  • One Gigabit RJ-45 Ethernet port.
  • One USB-C PD input rated up to 100W.
  • One fixed USB-C upstream cable to the handheld, with up to 80W host output.

Three USB-A sockets are useful if you want wired input devices and external storage connected simultaneously without adding a hub. ASUS does not list a separate USB-C data port on the DG310, so a USB-C peripheral would need an adapter or another connection on the handheld.

Lenovo dock port layout

  • One HDMI 2.0 output.
  • Two USB-A ports.
  • One USB-C data port.
  • One RJ45 Gigabit Ethernet port.
  • USB-C power passthrough to the Legion Go, with the published 45W/65W discrepancy described above.

The Lenovo dock trades one USB-A socket for a USB-C data port. That is the more convenient arrangement if one of your peripherals is USB-C, while the DG310 offers more total USB-A capacity for a conventional desktop setup.

Compatibility and physical fit

DG310 compatibility requirements

ASUS states that the DG310 works over one USB-C cable with devices supporting USB-C DisplayPort Alt Mode and USB Power Delivery. The listed operating systems are Windows 11 or later, macOS 12.3 or later, and Android 14 or later. A USB-C port that supports charging but lacks DisplayPort Alt Mode cannot provide the dock’s external video output.

The built-in stand is shaped for the ROG Xbox Ally (2025), ROG Xbox Ally X (2025) and ROG Xbox Ally X20 (2026). ASUS says other devices can still use the ports through USB-C, but the physical cradle is not promised to fit every handheld. Check the handheld’s thickness, controls and USB-C port position before relying on the stand.

ASUS also lists one-touch Bluetooth pairing designed for ROG Xbox Ally. That convenience feature is separate from the dock’s basic USB, Ethernet and display functions and should not be treated as a universal pairing system for every handheld.

Lenovo Legion Go fit

Lenovo explicitly lists the dock for Legion Go. Its integrated 230mm USB-C cable is shorter than the DG310’s 60cm cable, which can keep a Legion Go setup tidy when the handheld sits directly in the stand. The shorter lead offers less placement flexibility if the handheld must sit farther from the dock or in a protective case.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

For a different USB-C handheld, the Lenovo dock may still pass video, USB data and power if that device implements the required standards, but the official compatibility claim in the cited material is for Legion Go. The stand’s mechanical fit should be checked independently.

Size, cable design and desk placement

Physical detail ROG Bulwark Dock DG310 Lenovo Legion Go USB-C Dock
Dimensions 181.6 × 86.6 × 31.6mm 160 × 73.4 × 30.7mm
Weight Approximately 262 ±10g Not stated in the cited Lenovo documents
Integrated cable Fixed 60cm USB-C cable Integrated 230mm USB-C cable

The DG310 occupies more desk area and provides a longer lead for flexible placement beside a monitor or television. The Lenovo dock is narrower and shallower on the published dimensions, with a cable better suited to a close, compact Legion Go stand arrangement.

How to connect either dock

DG310 setup

  1. Place the handheld in the stand or on a stable surface, leaving the dock’s ventilation area unobstructed.
  2. Connect a USB-C PD charger rated at 100W or higher to the DG310’s USB-C PD input. The charger is sold separately.
  3. Connect the dock’s fixed USB-C upstream cable to a handheld USB-C port that supports DisplayPort Alt Mode and USB Power Delivery.
  4. Connect the monitor or television to the dock’s HDMI 2.1 port, then select the matching HDMI input on the display.
  5. Attach Ethernet and USB accessories to the dock.
  6. In the handheld’s display settings, select the desired resolution and refresh rate. If 4K/144Hz, HDR or VRR is unavailable, verify support on the handheld, display and cable before changing dock settings.

Lenovo Legion Go USB-C Dock setup

  1. Set the Legion Go in the dock’s stand and connect the integrated USB-C cable to the handheld.
  2. Connect a compatible USB-C power adapter to the dock’s power input. Confirm the exact dock revision’s host-output rating because Lenovo publishes both 45W and 65W figures.
  3. Connect the display to HDMI and select the appropriate input.
  4. Connect USB-A or USB-C peripherals and, if needed, an Ethernet cable.
  5. Open the Legion Go display settings and choose 4K/60Hz or 2K/120Hz when the monitor supports those modes.

Which dock should you buy for a specific setup?

Choose the DG310 for high-refresh television or monitor gaming

The DG310 is the clear choice when the display is a 4K/120Hz or 4K/144Hz model, or when VRR, ALLM and HDR are part of the intended setup. Its HDMI 2.1 specification leaves more headroom than Lenovo’s HDMI 2.0 output, and its three USB-A ports suit a multi-peripheral desk.

Choose the Lenovo dock for a straightforward Legion Go station

The Lenovo dock fits best when the priority is an officially listed Legion Go accessory, one external 4K/60Hz display, Gigabit Ethernet and a compact stand. Its USB-C data port may also be preferable to a third USB-A port if your storage or accessory uses USB-C.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Choose based on charging only after checking the revision

Do not select the Lenovo dock on the assumption that it always supplies 65W, or reject it on the assumption that it is limited to 45W. Those are both official Lenovo figures in different documents. Confirm the exact model and current documentation. The DG310’s published 80W output is less ambiguous, but it still requires a separately purchased 100W-or-higher charger and a handheld that accepts the negotiated power.

Choose the DG310 for a non-ROG USB-C handheld only after checking the standards

The DG310 is not restricted to ROG handhelds at the protocol level: ASUS says it works with USB-C DisplayPort Alt Mode and USB Power Delivery devices and lists Windows, macOS and Android versions. The stand, however, is optimized for specific ROG Xbox Ally models. For another handheld, verify DisplayPort Alt Mode, USB-PD behavior, physical fit and the position of its USB-C port.

Common problems and practical fixes

The monitor shows no picture

  • Confirm that the handheld’s USB-C port supports DisplayPort Alt Mode; charging-only USB-C ports cannot carry video.
  • Make sure the display cable is connected to the dock’s HDMI output, not the power input.
  • Set the television or monitor to the HDMI input used by the dock.
  • Test at 1080p or 60Hz first, then raise resolution and refresh rate after the basic connection works.
  • On the DG310, verify that the display and cable support the requested HDMI 2.1 mode. On the Lenovo dock, stay within its published 4K/60Hz or 2K/120Hz limits.

The handheld is charging slowly or losing charge while gaming

  • Use a charger with enough capacity for the dock: ASUS recommends 100W or higher for the DG310’s full 80W output.
  • For Lenovo, check whether your unit is documented as 45W or 65W to the system; the two published figures are not interchangeable.
  • Disconnect high-draw USB accessories temporarily and test again.
  • Check that the charger is connected to the dock’s PD input rather than a data port.

The display is limited to 60Hz

  • Confirm the monitor’s HDMI input supports the desired refresh rate; some displays reserve high refresh for specific ports.
  • Use the display settings in the handheld’s operating system to select 120Hz or 144Hz.
  • Remember that the Lenovo dock is specified for 4K/60Hz and 2K/120Hz, while 4K/144Hz is a DG310 capability.
  • Game frame rate can remain below the selected refresh rate even when the link is operating correctly.

A USB accessory disconnects

  • Move the accessory to another port and remove unnecessary devices to isolate a power or compatibility issue.
  • Use the DG310’s three USB-A ports or the Lenovo dock’s two USB-A ports and USB-C data port according to the connector you need.
  • For storage devices, allow the operating system to finish mounting the drive before launching a game or transferring files.

What is included and what is not

ASUS lists the DG310 package as the dock, manual and warranty card. The charger is not included. ASUS recommends a 100W-or-higher USB-C PD adapter for better performance and full host-output potential.

The cited Lenovo documents describe the dock and its power-input capability but do not establish a bundled charger. Plan on supplying a compatible USB-C PD adapter and verify the exact package contents for the product revision and region.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Final recommendation by priority

  • Best for 4K high refresh, VRR, ALLM or HDR: ROG Bulwark Dock DG310.
  • Best for three USB-A peripherals: ROG Bulwark Dock DG310.
  • Best for a compact, officially listed Legion Go setup: Lenovo Legion Go USB-C Dock.
  • Best when you need a USB-C data socket: Lenovo Legion Go USB-C Dock.
  • Least ambiguous published host-power figure: ROG Bulwark Dock DG310, at up to 80W with the required charger and compatible handheld.
  • Power figure requiring a product-revision check: Lenovo Legion Go USB-C Dock, because Lenovo publishes both 45W and 65W to the system.
