The ASUS Pad T3201 pairs a sharp 12.2-inch, 144Hz OLED display with capable performance and a productivity-friendly 3:2 shape. In the review of an Indian retail 8GB/256GB unit, the screen and hardware impressed, but native multitasking felt too awkward to make the most of them. It suits media, everyday work and gaming better than it does effortless multi-app productivity.
What ASUS Pad was reviewed?
This review covers the ASUS Pad T3201M5A, an Indian retail configuration with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. The reviewer used it for about two weeks. The specifications and test results below are those reported in the review, not independently verified official specifications or laboratory findings. The review page credits Vikhyaat Vivek / Digital Trends; an Intelligent Relations listing also associates the review title with that author and publication.

Yes. The reviewer found the 12.2-inch OLED panel to be the tablet’s strongest feature, praising its deep blacks, vivid color and responsive 144Hz refresh rate. The 3:2 screen shape gives documents and web pages more vertical room than a typical widescreen display, which is useful for reading and work.
#1 Best Overall
- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
The shape has a tradeoff: widescreen video appears with bars rather than filling the screen. The glossy surface also reflects bright surroundings. The review reports ASUS-quoted brightness of 600 nits typical and up to 2,000 nits peak HDR; those figures are reported claims, not independent measurements. The reviewer found outdoor visibility generally good despite the reflections.
Is the ASUS Pad good for gaming?
In the reviewer’s tests, the Dimensity 8300 configuration handled gaming and everyday navigation well. These are results from one tested unit and do not establish performance for every model or software version.
| Test | Reported result |
|---|---|
| Geekbench 6 | 1,441 single-core; 4,415 multi-core |
| AnTuTu v12 | 1,770,891 |
| 3DMark Wild Life Extreme | 3,001 points; 17.97 fps |
| 3DMark Wild Life Extreme stress test | 91.6% stability across 20 loops; reported temperature range of 32°C–40°C |
The reviewer recorded Call of Duty Mobile at up to 120fps. Zenless Zone Zero generally ran around 55fps at High settings, dipping nearer 50fps in heavier stretches; Medium settings felt smoother over longer sessions. The reviewer also reported that sustained loads did not make the chassis uncomfortably hot.

How well does it handle multitasking and PC integration?
The central weakness is native tablet multitasking. The reviewer found split-screen and multi-app workflows insufficiently immediate and intuitive for a device with this much screen space and performance. That makes the tablet less convincing as a productivity-first choice than its hardware suggests.
ASUS GlideX offers a separate PC-integration use case: the review describes screen extension and mirroring, cross-device control, file transfer, clipboard sharing and remote access. The reviewer found wired screen extension smoother than wireless. GlideX can help connect the tablet and a PC, but it does not fix the reported friction in Android’s native multitasking.
The reviewed software arrived with UI issues, and the reviewer says ASUS issued a hotfix that resolved most of them. The review did not establish a clear long-term Android and security update commitment. That uncertainty is not evidence that ASUS has no commitment; check current ASUS documentation for the relevant region before relying on a support timeline.

How are the battery, cameras, speakers and design?
Battery and charging
The reviewer reported around seven to eight hours of screen-on time in typical mixed use, enough for a full workday, and about 90 minutes for a full charge with the bundled 45W adapter. These are review observations, not standardized battery-test results.
Cameras and speakers
The rear camera was considered adequate for documents and occasional reference photos, though autofocus was inconsistent. The front camera was adequate for meetings but weak for detailed photos. The reviewer said the quad speakers get loud, keep voices clear and offer useful stereo separation, with limited bass.
Build and handling
The tablet is reported as 6.5mm thick and 523g. The included cover supports multiple orientations, and the reviewer praised the rigid feel. Its large footprint can make one-handed use tiring.

How does it compare with alternatives?
The review names these alternatives but does not provide a uniform, freshly tested comparison across all models. The distinctions below reflect the reviewer’s stated tradeoffs, not a controlled head-to-head test.
| Alternative | Tradeoff described in the review |
|---|---|
| Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 FE | The review credits it with more mature tablet software, a strong split-screen workflow, an included S Pen and a defined support commitment. It says the ASUS has the better OLED display and stronger benchmark performance in the review’s comparison. |
| OnePlus Pad Go 2 | Presented as another large-screen Android option with capable everyday performance. The review says its LCD cannot match the ASUS OLED and that its large-screen software is also imperfect. |
| Apple iPad (11th Gen) | The review says it makes a stronger case for app quality, accessories and ecosystem. The ASUS counters with a 144Hz OLED display, expandable storage and a more generous hardware package. |
What is the biggest weakness of the ASUS Pad?
It is the gap between strong hardware and less polished native multitasking. The display, performance and expandable storage make the tablet appealing, but the reviewer found that split-screen and multi-app workflows were not easy enough to use. The display’s reflections and video letterboxing are practical compromises; the software experience is the more fundamental limit for productivity.
