For most buyers, the decision comes down to Standard versus Complete. Standard is the base game only. Complete includes the base game, Dawn of Ragnarök, the Ultimate Pack and the Season Pass. Choose Standard when you only want the main game; choose Complete when you want the broadest bundle and its live price is acceptable.
Deluxe adds the Ultimate Pack without the larger expansion bundle, while Ragnarök adds Dawn of Ragnarök without the other extras listed for Complete. Ubisoft cautions that contents can vary by region, so verify the exact platform, region, format and seller listing before paying.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla editions at a glance
| Edition | Ubisoft-listed contents | Best fit |
|---|---|---|
| Standard Edition | Assassin’s Creed Valhalla base game | Players who want the main game only |
| Deluxe Edition | Base game plus Ultimate Pack | Players who want the cosmetic and gear bundle but not the expansion bundle |
| Ragnarök Edition | Base game plus Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: Dawn of Ragnarök | Players specifically seeking that expansion |
| Complete Edition | Base game, Dawn of Ragnarök, Ultimate Pack and Season Pass | Players who want the most extensive bundle in Ubisoft’s current Help list |
| Collector Edition | Base game, Ultimate Pack, Season Pass and physical collector items | Collectors who can verify the condition and completeness of a specific copy |
| Ubisoft+ Premium Edition | Base game, Dawn of Ragnarök, Ultimate Pack and Season Pass | Subscribers considering the included game package |
This is Ubisoft’s current edition list in its Help article, updated September 30, 2026. The names and packages are not identical to the launch-era labels, so an older article or marketplace listing needs extra scrutiny.

Standard Edition
Standard contains only the Assassin’s Creed Valhalla base game. It is the straightforward choice if you want to play the main campaign and do not need the separately listed expansion, cosmetic gear or Season Pass. If it is the least expensive compatible listing for your platform and region, there is little reason to pay for a larger package you will not use.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Deluxe Edition
Deluxe contains the base game and the Ultimate Pack. It does not appear in Ubisoft’s current Help table as including Dawn of Ragnarök or the Season Pass. Compare its live price with Standard and the price of any separately available content before choosing it; the value depends on how much you want the included cosmetics and gear.
Ragnarök Edition
Ragnarök contains the base game and Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: Dawn of Ragnarök. Ubisoft’s current listing does not identify the Ultimate Pack or Season Pass as part of this edition. It is the targeted option for someone who wants the expansion but does not want to purchase the broader Complete bundle.
Complete Edition
Complete combines the base game, Dawn of Ragnarök, the Ultimate Pack and the Season Pass. Among the editions in Ubisoft’s current Help list, it is the broadest standard digital bundle. It is usually the first package to compare against Ragnarök when you want the expansion, because the extra items may cost less when bundled than when acquired separately. That conclusion still depends on the current sale, region and platform.

Ubisoft+ Premium Edition
The Ubisoft+ Premium Edition is listed with the same game package as Complete: the base game, Dawn of Ragnarök, Ultimate Pack and Season Pass. This describes the included game content, not the value or terms of the Ubisoft+ subscription. If you are subscribing only to play Valhalla, consider how long you expect to play and whether continued access through the subscription suits you better than owning a purchase.
What is in the Ultimate Pack?
Ubisoft’s April 30, 2020 launch announcement described the Ultimate Pack as a collection of themed equipment, cosmetics and runes. Its announced contents were:
- Berserker Gear Pack, including a Bearded Axe, Ursine Guard Light Shield, raven skin, Hati Wolf Mount and Berserker Set for Eivor
- Berserker Longship Pack
- Berserker Settlement Pack
- A set of runes
Those details explain what the pack meant in the launch announcement. They should not be used to assume that every older or regional listing is packaged identically; check the description attached to the exact product page you are buying.
What does the Season Pass add?
Ubisoft’s current Help table identifies the Season Pass as part of Complete, Collector and Ubisoft+ Premium, but the supplied edition list does not enumerate every Season Pass component. Treat “Season Pass included” as a bundle entitlement and verify the platform store’s current description if you need to know precisely which downloadable items your account will receive.
Do not assume that buying Ragnarök automatically grants the Season Pass. In the current Help list, Ragnarök is described as the base game plus Dawn of Ragnarök, whereas Complete is the edition that explicitly adds both the Ultimate Pack and Season Pass.

Why older listings say Gold or Ultimate
At launch, Ubisoft used a different set of names. Its April 30, 2020 announcement described Standard, Gold, Ultimate and Collector’s editions:
- Gold: base game plus Season Pass
- Ultimate: base game, Season Pass and Ultimate Pack
- Collector’s: a physical collector package built around the base game, Season Pass and Ultimate Pack
The same announcement identified Way of the Berserker as a preorder bonus. Do not treat that bonus as guaranteed in every current listing, especially a used copy or a regional product page.
These launch-era labels do not map automatically to Ubisoft’s current Standard, Deluxe, Ragnarök and Complete names. A listing titled “Ultimate” may be an old product, a platform-specific package or a seller’s shorthand. Read the itemized contents rather than relying on the name alone.
Collector Edition: original contents versus a resale copy
Ubisoft’s 2020 Collector Edition announcement described a substantial physical package. The announced contents were:
- A 30 cm Eivor figurine at the prow of her longship
- A 5 cm Eivor statuette with a raven and Dane axe
- An illustrated Collector’s Case
- An exclusive steelbook
- Three lithographs
- A serialized certificate of authenticity
- A selected soundtrack CD
- The base game
- The Season Pass
- The Ultimate Pack
This is a historical description of what the new package was announced to contain. It does not establish present-day stock, and it does not prove that a second-hand box is complete. Before buying a resale copy, ask for photographs of every physical item, confirm whether the disc or download code matches your platform, and determine whether any digital entitlement has already been redeemed.
US Ubisoft Store price snapshot
On October 13, 2026, the US Ubisoft Store displayed the following sale prices. These are a dated storefront snapshot, not permanent prices and not a guide to other regions or platforms.
| Edition | Displayed sale price | Displayed list price | Store release date |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard | $12 | $59.99 | November 10, 2020 |
| Deluxe | $16 | $79.99 | August 5, 2021 |
| Ragnarök | $20 | $99.99 | March 10, 2022 |
| Complete | $28 | $139.99 | March 10, 2022 |
At those observed US prices, Complete was the lowest-cost way among these four listed editions to obtain the expansion, Ultimate Pack and Season Pass together. That is an inference from the listed contents and prices at that time, not a universal value judgment. A different sale, currency, platform or region can reverse the result.

The October 13 snapshot also shows why comparing editions side by side matters. Deluxe was $4 more than Standard, Ragnarök was $8 more than Deluxe, and Complete was $8 more than Ragnarök. Those differences are not permanent quotes, but they illustrate the questions to ask: is the Ultimate Pack worth the Deluxe premium, is Dawn of Ragnarök worth the Ragnarök premium, and are the Season Pass and Ultimate Pack together worth Complete’s additional cost?

Do not compare only against the displayed list price. A retailer may discount one edition while leaving another at its regular price, or sell an older physical copy whose downloadable codes no longer work. The relevant calculation is the total cost of the exact playable content you still need, including shipping where applicable.
Which edition is worth buying?
Choose Standard when you only want the base game
Standard is the sensible purchase when your goal is to play Valhalla’s main game without committing to additional downloadable content. It also makes sense when you already own the expansion or pack through another purchase, or when the price gap to a larger edition is not justified by what you will use.
Choose Deluxe for the Ultimate Pack alone
Deluxe is aimed at buyers who specifically want the Berserker-themed gear, settlement, longship and related items but do not need Dawn of Ragnarök. Check that the Deluxe listing actually includes the Ultimate Pack on your platform and region, then compare the total with Standard plus any separately sold version of the pack.
Choose Ragnarök when the expansion is the priority
Ragnarök is appropriate if Dawn of Ragnarök is the only major addition you want. It avoids paying for the Ultimate Pack and Season Pass when those extras are not important to you. Confirm the live price against Complete; a modest difference can make Complete the better purchase if you would otherwise buy any of its additional content later.
Choose Complete for the broadest bundle
Complete is the strongest default for a new buyer who wants the expansion and the widest current package. It bundles all four elements Ubisoft identifies together: base game, Dawn of Ragnarök, Ultimate Pack and Season Pass. The decision is still personal: someone interested only in the campaign should not pay for content they will ignore, and someone who already owns part of the bundle should calculate the cost of buying only what is missing.
Choose Collector Edition only for verified physical completeness
Collector Edition is for the physical objects as much as for the game. Its value depends on condition, authenticity, shipping, platform and whether the digital components remain usable. A complete, unopened package and a box missing its steelbook or redeemed code are fundamentally different purchases even if both listings use the same edition name.
How ownership changes the calculation
If you already own Standard, do not automatically buy another full game bundle. First identify whether your platform store offers the missing Ultimate Pack, Dawn of Ragnarök or Season Pass separately, and compare that total with a Complete upgrade or new edition. Store entitlements can be platform-specific, so content purchased on one account or console family may not transfer to another.

Avoid paying twice for content already attached to your account.

Subscription versus ownership
Ubisoft+ Premium lists the same game package as Complete, but it is access through a subscription rather than a conventional permanent purchase. A subscription can suit a player who wants to finish Valhalla and other included games during an active membership. Buying Complete can suit someone who expects to return years later without maintaining a subscription.
Check the current subscription price, renewal terms, supported platform and removal policy before deciding. The edition table establishes which Valhalla content is listed, not how long access lasts after a membership ends or whether saves remain playable without an active subscription.
Platforms and compatibility checks
Ubisoft’s official game page lists Assassin’s Creed Valhalla for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Amazon Luna, Epic Games Store, Ubisoft Store, Steam and Ubisoft+. Storefront and subscription availability can change, so treat that list as a starting point rather than proof that every edition is sold on every platform today.
Before you buy, identify all of the following:
- The exact platform: for example, PlayStation, Xbox, PC storefront or cloud service
- Your account’s country or region
- Digital key, digital account entitlement, disc or complete physical package
- Whether the product is new, used, sealed or missing any codes
- The itemized contents shown on that exact seller page
Ubisoft’s warning is particularly important for boxed, used and region-specific listings: “Check with your retailer before purchasing, as content might vary depending on your region.”
A safe buying process
- Start with the content you actually want. Decide whether you need only the base game, the Ultimate Pack, Dawn of Ragnarök, the Season Pass or the physical collector items.
- Filter by platform and region. Do not compare a PC key, console disc and cloud subscription as if they were interchangeable products.
- Read the itemized listing. Ignore a legacy title such as “Gold” or “Ultimate” until you confirm the included game and downloadable content.
- Check the current total price. Compare Standard, Deluxe, Ragnarök and Complete at the same time. Sale prices can make the larger bundle unusually attractive for a limited period.
- For physical copies, inspect code status. Ask whether Season Pass, Ultimate Pack or preorder codes have been redeemed. A used disc may still work while a one-time digital code does not.
- Save the product description and receipt. Keeping the listing details gives you evidence if the delivered edition does not match what was advertised.
Common mistakes and how to avoid them
Assuming Ultimate means Complete
“Ultimate” was a launch-era label for a package containing the base game, Season Pass and Ultimate Pack. Complete is the current Help-list name that explicitly adds Dawn of Ragnarök to those elements. They are not interchangeable names.
Assuming every edition includes the expansion
Standard and Deluxe are not listed with Dawn of Ragnarök. Ragnarök includes the expansion, while Complete includes it alongside the Ultimate Pack and Season Pass. Check the exact contents before checkout.
Treating a sale price as permanent
The $12, $16, $20 and $28 figures above were observed in the US Ubisoft Store on October 13, 2026. They can expire without notice and do not predict prices in another country or storefront.
Buying a used Collector Edition without checking entitlements
The original physical contents are documented, but resale completeness and current availability are not established. Confirm every figure, case, steelbook, lithograph, certificate and CD, then verify the disc and any codes.

- What You Get: Anker 332 USB-C Hub (5-in-1), welcome guide, our worry-free 18-month warranty, and friendly customer service.
Ignoring regional differences
Ubisoft explicitly says content may vary by region. A product title, bonus, language option or included code can differ between storefronts. The retailer’s itemized listing for your account region takes precedence over a generic comparison chart.
Bottom line for most buyers
Buy Standard when you want only Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. Buy Deluxe when the Ultimate Pack is the specific extra you want. Buy Ragnarök when Dawn of Ragnarök is the priority and the other extras are not worth the difference. Buy Complete when you want the base game, expansion, Ultimate Pack and Season Pass together and the current price makes sense. For any edition, especially an older or used listing, verify the platform, region, format and exact contents before purchase.

Can I trust a used Collector Edition to contain all bonuses?
No. Historical contents do not prove a resale copy is complete. Check the figures, case, steelbook, lithographs, certificate, soundtrack, disc and the redemption status of every code.
Which edition is cheapest in the October 13, 2026 US snapshot?
Standard was displayed at $12, followed by Deluxe at $16, Ragnarök at $20 and Complete at $28. These were temporary US Ubisoft Store prices, not permanent or worldwide prices.
Should I buy Complete if I already own the base game?
Only after comparing the price of the missing expansion, Ultimate Pack and Season Pass with Complete. Avoid paying twice for entitlements already attached to your account, and confirm platform compatibility.
The Bottom Line
For most new buyers, compare Standard and Complete first. Standard is the economical base-game choice; Complete is the broadest current bundle. Deluxe and Ragnarök are focused alternatives, while Collector is worthwhile only when its physical contents and digital entitlements are verified. Always check the live regional listing before purchase.
