The ASICS NOVABLAST 6 is a highly cushioned neutral road shoe aimed mainly at daily training. Its FF BLAST MAX midsole and separate FF TURBO SQUARED forefoot pod deliver a comfortable, energetic ride, while its flexible forefoot may feel less efficient at faster efforts. Fit is the main reason to try before buying: reviewers describe a shallow toe box or a secure, tapered shape that may not suit every foot.

How is the midsole built?
FF BLAST MAX makes up the primary midsole foam. A distinct FF TURBO SQUARED pod sits in the forefoot, and ASICSGRIP rubber is used under the forefoot. The construction should not be described as an all-FF TURBO SQUARED midsole.
The combination supports the shoe’s cushioned, springy daily-run character. RTINGS reports a smooth roll at easier paces, but says the flexible forefoot blunts transition assistance when running faster. Runners who prioritize a crisp, efficient feel during hard efforts may want a shoe designed more specifically for that use.

What are the official specifications?
ASICS’s US product page lists an 8 mm heel-to-toe drop and a weight of 253 g (8.9 oz). These are manufacturer-listed specifications, not measurements that apply identically to every size.

ASICS announced global availability from 1 July 2026 at $150. That is the announced launch price; local prices and stock can differ. In Japan, the company’s 2 July 2026 release listed a suggested retail price of ¥17,600 including tax, with availability from 10 July. Those are Japan-specific details, not a substitute for pricing in another market. The Japan release identifies standard and wide men’s versions.

How do the independent measurements compare?
Reviewers’ measurements vary modestly from ASICS’s specifications and from one another. That is expected when measurements come from different samples, sizes, and methods; they should not be averaged or treated as a single definitive figure.

How does the NOVABLAST 6 fit?
Fit reports point to a shoe that may work for many runners but is not a safe blind choice for everyone. RTINGS reports true-to-size length and generally accommodating width, while warning that the toe box is shallow and can bother runners with taller toes. RunRepeat describes a secure, tapered fit that may feel restrictive to some.
- If you have taller toes or prefer room above and around the toes, try the shoe on if possible and check for pressure while standing and moving.
- If you want more width, check whether a wide version is available in your region and size. The cited Japan release lists standard and wide men’s versions; availability elsewhere is not established here.
- Do not assume that a reviewer’s positive fit experience will transfer to your foot shape. Toe height and preferred fit are individual.
What are the ride and stability trade-offs?
For easy and everyday runs
RTINGS describes a smooth roll at easy pace, and the high cushioning and energetic feel make the shoe a plausible daily-training choice for runners seeking a comfortable road trainer.

For faster workouts
The shoe has some pace versatility, but RTINGS says its flexible forefoot can make transitions feel less assisted at faster efforts. If efficient turnover at speed is a primary requirement, try it at workout pace rather than judging it only by an easy jog.
For runners who need guidance
The NOVABLAST 6 is categorized as neutral, not as a stability shoe. RunRepeat reports a narrower platform that feels more agile, but may offer less support for runners with mild-to-moderate pronation. That lab observation is not an injury-risk assessment or a prediction of how a particular runner will move.
What do the lab tests say about breathability and outsole wear?
RunRepeat reports an 80 BR breathability result and 0.5 mm of outsole wear in its abrasion test. These are results from that reviewer’s tests, not universal promises about comfort, durability, mileage, or injury protection. Actual wear depends on factors including a runner’s gait, surfaces, and use.
Should you buy the ASICS NOVABLAST 6?
Consider it if you want a cushioned neutral shoe for regular road runs and value a comfortable, energetic ride more than a sharply assisted transition at faster paces. Before deciding, check the fit—especially toe-box height and taper—and confirm your local price and available width.
It is a less obvious choice if you need a stability shoe, want a roomy or tall toe box, or expect a daily trainer to feel especially efficient during fast workouts. Those are reasons to try it alongside other shoes that better match your fit or ride priorities, rather than treating the NOVABLAST 6 as a universal recommendation.
