Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsIn an Asciidoctor table cell specifier, use n+ to span n columns, .n+ to span n rows, and n.m+ to span n columns by m rows. Put the span first in the cell specifier, directly before the cell separator.
Span a cell across columns
Prefix the cell separator with the column count and a plus sign. In this example, 3+| starts one cell covering the first three columns; the next cell belongs in column 4.
|===
|Column 1 |Column 2 |Column 3 |Column 4
3+|This cell spans columns 1, 2, and 3
|This cell is in column 4
|===Span a cell across rows
Prefix the row count with a dot, then add the plus sign. The .2+| cell occupies two consecutive rows. Provide the other cells for each row, but do not add replacement cells where the spanning cell already occupies space.
|===
|Column 1 |Column 2
.2+|This cell spans rows 2 and 3
|Cell in column 2, row 2
|Cell in column 2, row 3
|===Span across both rows and columns
For a rectangular span, put the column count first and the dotted row count second. Thus, 2.3+| covers two columns and three rows. Account for that occupied block when laying out the remaining cells in each row:

|===The first row establishes four columns here. Asciidoctor can infer a table’s column count from its first row, or you can specify it with the cols attribute. These examples use the default prefix-separated table format.
Put alignment and style operators after the span
The cell-specifier order is span factor, span operator, horizontal alignment operator, vertical alignment operator, and style operator, followed by the cell separator and content. For example, a span comes before any alignment or style operators. Keep the complete specifier adjacent to the separator: do not put spaces between the operators and |.

Check HTML borders when spans reach a table edge
In HTML output, a spanning cell is not represented in the rows or columns it extends into. As a result, CSS border placement can be unreliable when a span reaches a table boundary. The Asciidoctor border guidance says spans reaching a boundary render correctly when the frame and grid settings are congruent. Its listed combinations are:
