For most woodworking and carpentry jobs, the useful ARTU “accessories” are carbide-grit blades matched to a jigsaw, reciprocating saw, rod saw, or hacksaw, plus replacement blades for ARTU grout rakes. Choose by the tool’s attachment system, blade length, material, and whether you need one blade or a set. ARTU lists these blades for abrasive construction materials and several wood products, but its own guidance excludes ordinary metal use; confirm the exact material and fit in your saw manual before cutting.
What ARTU saw accessories actually include
ARTU-USA’s documented saw range is a family of tungsten-carbide-grit blades rather than a universal system of guards, guides, or powered-saw attachments. The catalog covers four saw formats—jigsaw, reciprocating saw, rod saw, and hacksaw—and also lists replacement blades for ARTU pro and DIY grout rakes. A separate ARTU Werkzeuge accessories page describes a drill-mounted cooling device for diamond hole saws and a drill-bit grinding stone; those are adjacent workshop products, not add-ons for the ARTU saw blades discussed here.
The grit construction is different from a conventional toothed blade. ARTU describes particles of tungsten carbide bonded along the cutting edge instead of teeth that can dull or break, and says the blades do not need sharpening. ARTU also says the edge cuts and files on both the forward and backward stroke. Those are manufacturer descriptions, not independent durability or speed tests, so use them as selection guidance rather than a performance guarantee.

ARTU-USA lists the following intended materials and applications for its grit blades. The list is broad, but the exact blade format and your saw’s capability still determine whether a job is practical.

The metal warning is narrow
ARTU-USA’s product page says, “Please be advised that ARTU Saw Blades are not recommended to be used on metal, except cast metal.” The catalog uses the more specific wording “except cast iron.” Because the two official statements are not identical, the safe interpretation is to avoid metal unless ARTU confirms that the exact blade and the specific cast material are suitable. Do not treat the blades as general-purpose metal-cutting accessories.
Jigsaw blades: check the shank first
A jigsaw blade can be the right length and still be unusable if its shank does not match the tool. ARTU’s catalog lists both T-shank and U-shank carbide-grit blades, with different lengths:

The catalog labels the listed grit as medium. “Medium” is a product designation, not a published grit-size measurement, so do not use it to infer a precise cutting rate. Consult the jigsaw manual for maximum blade length, orbital-action recommendations, and the material thickness allowed by the tool.

Choose this format when you need a controlled curved or short straight cut and can support the work close to the cut line. A shorter blade can be easier to control in thin stock or a tight opening; a longer one may reach deeper material but can flex more. ARTU does not publish a universal thickness limit for these blades, so use the saw maker’s limits and make a test cut in scrap when the material is expensive or brittle.

Reciprocating-saw blades: select length and package deliberately
ARTU’s catalog lists reciprocating-blade lengths of 4, 6, 8, 9 and 12 inches. It also lists a three-piece set containing 6-, 9- and 12-inch blades, along with three-packs in 6-inch and 9-inch sizes. The catalog identifies the grit as medium for this family as well.

Blade length should extend through the work with enough engagement for the saw’s stroke, but excessive projection can increase flex and vibration. The correct length depends on the specific saw, shoe position, material thickness and access angle; the catalog does not establish one universally best size. Check the saw manual and the blade clamp before ordering.
Use the reciprocating format for access, not precision
A reciprocating saw is useful where the blade must enter an existing opening, reach behind framing or work in a demolition-oriented position. For a clean visible edge in furniture panels, a jigsaw or a dedicated finish-cutting method may be easier to control. The grit edge files in both directions according to ARTU, so keep the shoe stable and let the tool’s stroke do the work instead of forcing the blade sideways.
Rod-saw blades: verify the holder and pin
ARTU lists 6-inch and 12-inch rod-saw blades. The catalog specifically identifies a 6-inch version with a pin. That pin is an attachment detail, not a decorative variation: a holder designed for a pinned blade may not secure a plain-end blade correctly, and the reverse can also be true.

- Measure the existing blade and compare its overall length with the catalog length.
- Inspect whether your rod-saw holder uses a pin, a slot, a screw or another retention method.
- Check the holder manual for the permitted blade construction and orientation.
- Confirm that the rod or frame can reach the cut without bending or binding.
Rod saws are often selected for restricted access or specialty cuts. Do not assume that an ARTU rod-saw blade fits every hand-held rod-saw frame simply because both products are labeled “rod saw.”
Hacksaw blades: compare the frame, not only the nominal length
The catalog lists 10-inch and 12-inch ARTU hacksaw blades. Before buying, check the frame’s blade length specification, the hole-to-hole distance, and the tensioning hardware. A nominal 12-inch blade may not fit a frame designed around a different mounting distance, and a frame that accepts the length may still require a particular end style.
These blades are a sensible option when you need hand-controlled work, no power source, or a cut that must be approached slowly. Keep the frame square to the work, maintain steady tension, and support brittle tile or board so the material does not flex underneath the grit edge.
Grout-rake replacement blades are parts for matching tools
ARTU’s catalog lists two replacement blades for both its professional and DIY grout rakes. It also lists complete grout-rake tools supplied with two blades. Treat the replacement items as parts for the corresponding ARTU grout rake, not as general-purpose saw blades for a jigsaw, hacksaw or reciprocating saw.

Before ordering a replacement, identify whether you own the pro or DIY rake, compare the existing blade’s mounting shape, and verify how many replacements are included. A blade that appears similar may not lock into the other rake version.
A five-step compatibility check
- Identify the tool family. Decide whether the job calls for a jigsaw, reciprocating saw, rod saw, hacksaw or an ARTU grout rake. Do not start with the blade length alone.
- Match the interface. For a jigsaw, confirm T-shank or U-shank. For rod and hacksaw formats, compare the holder, pin and end geometry. For a reciprocating saw, confirm that the tang and clamp accept the blade.
- Choose a length that suits the cut. Compare the catalog length with the saw manual, the material thickness and the available clearance. More length is not automatically better.
- Confirm the material. Use ARTU’s listed applications as a starting point. Treat the metal exception cautiously and obtain confirmation before cutting any metal other than the specific cast material approved for your blade.
- Choose the package. Buy a single blade for an occasional replacement, a three-pack for repeated work, or the 6/9/12-inch set when you genuinely need several reciprocating lengths. Select grout-rake replacements only for the matching rake.
How to prepare and operate the saw
Before installation
- Disconnect the power source or remove the battery before touching the blade clamp.
- Inspect the blade for bent ends, missing grit or damage from prior use.
- Read the saw manual for compatible shank or tang styles, maximum blade length and permitted materials.
- Clamp or otherwise support the work so it cannot twist into the blade.
- Plan dust control and wear eye protection, hearing protection and a suitable respirator when the material creates hazardous dust.
During the cut
- Install the blade fully and confirm that the clamp or holder is locked.
- Start at a controlled speed appropriate to the material and the saw; do not force the blade to compensate for a poor fit.
- Keep the shoe or frame supported and aligned with the cut. Side loading can bend a blade or damage the holder.
- Allow the carbide grit to abrade the material. Excessive downward pressure can reduce control and overheat the tool.
- Pause if the blade binds, the material shifts, smoke appears, or the tool’s vibration changes noticeably.
After the cut
Disconnect the tool before removing the blade. Brush or blow debris away according to the saw manufacturer’s cleaning instructions, inspect the holder for packed dust, and store blades so their grit edges do not strike other tools. ARTU’s claim that the blades do not need sharpening does not mean they are indestructible; replace a blade when the edge or attachment end is damaged or when the saw can no longer cut safely and controllably.
Common selection mistakes and fixes

Choosing by job type
Cabinet panels, plywood and laminate work
Start with a compatible jigsaw blade when the cut is visible or curved. Confirm the shank before considering length, then support the panel close to the line to limit vibration. For a long rough opening where access matters more than edge finish, a reciprocating blade may be more practical, provided its length and the saw’s shoe can be controlled.

Choose the saw format that reaches the opening safely: a jigsaw for controlled access, a reciprocating saw for an existing opening, or a hand frame when power is unavailable. ARTU lists ceramic tile, marble, flagstone, slate, brick and concrete-related materials, but the workpiece still needs rigid support and dust management. Test the setup on an offcut when the surface is visible.

Removing grout
Use the matching ARTU grout rake and its designated replacement blades. This is a different task from fitting a grit blade into a power saw, and the replacement parts should not be substituted across the pro and DIY rake versions without confirmation.
What is and is not established about availability
ARTU-USA documents the product families and sizes in its catalog and product information. Live retailer stock, regional availability, current packaging and any affiliate terms can change, so verify those details at the time of purchase. Match the exact blade interface shown in the current listing to your saw rather than relying on the ARTU name alone.
No independent comparative testing establishes that one ARTU length cuts faster, lasts longer or produces a cleaner edge than another. The practical recommendation is therefore compatibility-first: use ARTU’s listed material guidance, then let your saw manual, holder geometry and job access determine the format and length.
Bottom line for serious woodworkers and carpenters
ARTU’s useful saw accessories are specialized carbide-grit blades organized around the tool you already own. Pick T-shank or U-shank for a jigsaw, select a reciprocating length from 4 to 12 inches or the 6/9/12-inch set, verify the holder and pin on rod-saw blades, match 10- or 12-inch hacksaw blades to the frame, and reserve grout-rake replacements for the corresponding ARTU rake. The blades are promoted for wood, laminates, tile, cement products, masonry and other abrasive materials, while ordinary metal remains outside the recommendation. A careful interface check and material check will prevent the most expensive mistake: buying a blade that cannot safely fit the tool or the job.
