Neither Arsys nor IONOS is a proven overall winner in 2026. Arsys may appeal if Spanish-language support and a Spain-based VPS location matter most; IONOS may fit better if you want a choice of VPS server locations or are weighing its listed hosting tiers. The right pick depends on the service and workload: compare equivalent resources and the price after introductory offers, not just the lowest advertised monthly rate. Provider pages do not establish a standardized independent comparison of performance, support quality or total cost.
Shared hosting: compare the resources behind the headline price
Shared hosting is the more relevant comparison if you want the provider to manage the server for a conventional website. Plan names and features do not line up exactly, so use your expected workload to decide which allowances matter: site count, storage, database limits, email, SSL, support, migration, backups and security.
Arsys Professional
Arsys lists its Professional plan with 10 GB of web space, one 1 GB MySQL database, up to 2.5 GB RAM and five email accounts with 10 GB each. The page also lists a domain free for one year with qualifying hosting. Its displayed price is €4 per month for the first year, followed by a stated standard price of €7.90 per month; both figures exclude VAT. Arsys also advertises a 30-day refund guarantee. Check the live offer and contract at checkout, since the displayed price is promotional. See Arsys hosting plans.
IONOS shared-hosting tiers
IONOS presents multiple tiers with plan-dependent storage, databases, email, SSH/SFTP, WP-CLI, SSL and support features. Its page states availability above 99.99%; that is IONOS’s own figure, not an independent uptime measurement. The Standard example is shown at €3 per month for six months, then €6 per month, excluding VAT. The page also lists a 30-day money-back guarantee. Check which capabilities are included in the tier you are considering, as they are not identical across the range. See IONOS hosting plans.
These examples are not a like-for-like price test: their features, introductory periods and subsequent rates differ. Confirm site limits, resource allocation and renewal terms for the precise plans you are comparing.
VPS: location, administration and normalized cost matter
A VPS gives you more control, but also makes server administration part of the decision. Compare vCPU, RAM, storage capacity and type, bandwidth, location, operating-system options, root access, control panel, backups and support scope. Decide whether you can administer the server yourself or need a managed service; the listed features alone do not establish equivalent management.
Rank #2
Arsys VPS
Arsys describes NVMe storage, traffic up to 1 Gbps, root access, a KVM console and optional Plesk. It states that its VPS servers are located in Spain and that technical support is available in Spanish 24/7. Its VPS 60GB example has 1 vCPU, 2 GB RAM and 60 GB disk, displayed at a promotional €5 per month against €7 per month. See Arsys VPS.
IONOS VPS
IONOS lists NVMe VPS plans, bandwidth up to 1 Gbit/s, 24/7 assistance, root control, KVM and optional Plesk. It offers server locations in Spain, Germany, the United Kingdom and the United States. Its VPS page states 99.99% availability; this is a provider-published figure, not an independent measurement. The VPS S+ example lists 1 vCore, 2 GB RAM and 60 GB NVMe at €2 per month for three months, then €5 per month, plus a €10 setup fee. See IONOS VPS.
Those offers cannot establish which VPS is cheaper without accounting for the full contract term, taxes, storage and fees. Ask “¿Cuánto cuesta un VPS hosting en España?” only after checking the entire checkout total, including the post-promotion rate and any setup charge. For resource selection, “¿Qué recursos puedo configurar en los servidores VPS?” is best answered by checking the configuration and limits of the exact plan, not by assuming that the headline specifications cover every need. Provisioning time is another plan-specific point: the pages reviewed do not provide a comparable time estimate for “¿Cuánto tiempo tardaré en tener disponible mi nuevo servidor VPS?”
Support and server location: choose for your priorities, not a rating claim
Arsys’s published VPS details make Spanish-language 24/7 technical support and a stated Spain-based server location explicit. IONOS lists 24/7 assistance and gives customers four VPS location choices. These are useful differences if language or location is a deciding requirement, but they do not show which company responds faster or resolves issues better.

Arsys also says “9 de cada 10 clientes nos recomiendan” on its domain-pricing page. The page does not disclose a survey date, sample size or methodology, so treat this as a company marketing claim rather than independent evidence of support quality. Its “30 años de soporte técnico” statement likewise gives no publication year on that page.
Domains and renewals: check the contract conditions
A domain described as free is not necessarily free indefinitely. Arsys says qualifying hosting plans can include a domain for the first year; its domain page notes that renewal prices are higher than promotional first-year registration prices and vary by extension. The page also advertises a four-for-one domain promotion. Check the extension, eligibility and renewal charge for your specific domain.
Best Value
IONOS says included-domain registration and renewal remain covered by the contract charge only while the domain stays in an eligible contract or is transferred to another contract with an included-domain option. Additional domains are charged separately. In both cases, verify what happens to the domain if you change or cancel the hosting contract. Read IONOS’s included-domain terms.

Before choosing, write down the cost over the term you expect to keep the service. Include the introductory period, subsequent monthly rate, contract length, setup fees, VAT, domain renewal and any paid add-ons needed to match the features of the other plan. The published examples above are page offers and may change; verify the current checkout amount and terms.
Existing IONOS customers should use the account-specific 2026 price-adjustment notice rather than infer their new rate from a public new-customer offer. IONOS says affected customers receive details by email, including new prices in an attachment, and that an adjustment takes effect on the date stated in that notice. See IONOS’s 2026 price-adjustment information.
Quick Recap
Which provider fits your situation?
- Consider Arsys if Spanish-language 24/7 VPS support or its stated Spain-based VPS location is a priority, and the resources and renewal terms of the specific plan fit your site.
- Consider IONOS if choosing among Spain, Germany, the United Kingdom or the United States for a VPS matters, or if one of its shared-hosting tiers better matches your required features.
- For either provider, compare contracts on equal terms: match service type and resources, then calculate the cost after promotions, fees, VAT and domain renewal. Do not treat provider-published availability figures or marketing claims as independent comparative results.
