Armoury Crate is ASUS software that brings settings and device information for compatible ROG, TUF Gaming, and other supported ASUS products into one place. Depending on your exact hardware and software version, it can manage performance profiles, lighting, peripherals, fans, and game-linked settings—but not every device offers every control.
What is Armoury Crate?
Armoury Crate is a control hub for compatible ASUS hardware. ASUS describes it as a portal for real-time device information and configuration of connected devices. Its purpose is to gather settings that might otherwise be managed in separate device utilities.
Think of it as a collection of tools rather than one universal control panel: the options shown depend on the connected product and Armoury Crate version. ASUS states, “The functions within Armoury Crate may vary depending on the motherboard.” (ASUS Armoury Crate version 6.0 introduction.)

What can Armoury Crate do?
Show device information and change system settings
For supported products, Armoury Crate can display device information and expose configuration options. On gaming systems, available settings may include performance modes or other system profiles. The controls vary by model; ASUS’s version 5.0 and 6.0 guides describe different interfaces and feature sets, so instructions for one version may not match another.

Save profiles for games and applications
Scenario Profiles can associate selected settings with particular games or applications, where supported. ASUS’s version 6.0 guide also documents a Game Library for organizing games. These features help manage settings; their presence does not establish that a game will run faster.
Set up device lighting
Aura Sync synchronizes lighting across supported devices. Aura Creator is for creating more advanced lighting effects. They serve different needs: use Aura Sync to coordinate supported devices, and Aura Creator when you want to build effects. Lighting options and compatible products depend on the hardware. ASUS’s FAQ states that more than 180 devices support Aura Sync; the page does not give a publication year for that figure, so it should not be treated as a live count. (ASUS Armoury Crate FAQ.)

Configure supported peripherals
For a compatible keyboard, mouse, display, or other peripheral, the Device area may provide relevant controls. Depending on the model, these can include lighting, mouse DPI, macros, display settings, or adjustments for an AIO cooler. A feature listed for one accessory is not necessarily available for another.
Adjust motherboard fans
On supported motherboards, Fan Xpert can control connected fans, including fan speed and curves. ASUS notes that Armoury Crate functions vary by motherboard, so confirm that your board and fan setup expose the control you need.

Manage game and network options
ASUS’s version 6.0 guide documents GameFirst alongside the Game Library and Scenario Profiles. Availability depends on the supported device and software configuration. Treat these as management options, not a guarantee of lower latency or better online performance.
Will Armoury Crate work with your device?
Compatibility is model-specific. ASUS’s compatibility information covers ROG and TUF Gaming laptops and desktops, selected ASUS motherboards, and listed peripherals, including specific keyboard models. Check your exact product against ASUS’s Armoury Crate compatibility and version 6.0 information before expecting a particular setting to appear.

Even when a device is compatible, its feature set may be limited. Check both whether the exact model is supported and whether ASUS documents the specific control you want—such as Aura Sync, macros, or Fan Xpert—for that model.
How to install Armoury Crate
ASUS documents support for Windows 10 (Creators Update/1903 or later) and Windows 11 in its FAQ. Armoury Crate comes preinstalled on some new ROG and TUF Gaming systems. If it is not installed, ASUS directs users to the support page for their particular model to obtain the installer.
- Identify your exact ASUS product model.
- Open that model’s support page on the ASUS Support website and look for Armoury Crate installation information and downloads.
- Install the version ASUS provides for your model, then open Armoury Crate and check which device and feature controls are available.
How to choose the right Armoury Crate feature
- Want coordinated lighting? Check whether your exact devices support Aura Sync.
- Want custom lighting effects? Look for Aura Creator support for your product.
- Want per-game settings? Check whether your version and device offer Scenario Profiles.
- Want to adjust a mouse, keyboard, display, or cooler? Open the Device area and confirm the relevant model-specific controls.
- Want fan curves? Verify that your motherboard supports Fan Xpert and that the fans are connected in a way the board can manage.
What to check when an option is missing
A missing menu does not necessarily mean Armoury Crate is malfunctioning: the setting may not be supported by your model or version. Compare your device with ASUS’s compatibility information, confirm you are using the installer or version intended for your model, and consult the model’s ASUS support page for feature-specific guidance.
