A doorbell-plus-Chime 2 package is listed at $69.99. The prices, stock and sale status can change, so confirm the model and checkout total before buying.
What the $49.99 Arlo doorbell includes
The discounted product is Arlo’s second-generation Video Doorbell with up to 1944 × 1944-pixel, 2K-class square video. Its square framing is intended to include a visitor from head to toe and show packages near the threshold. Arlo rates the camera’s field of view at 180 degrees diagonally; that does not mean it captures 180 degrees horizontally.
The $49.99 listing is for the doorbell by itself. Arlo also lists a $69.99 configuration that includes Chime 2, an indoor receiver that provides an audible alert and has a built-in siren. The $20 difference is most useful when you need to hear the doorbell inside without relying on phone notifications or an existing smart-home speaker.
Video, night vision and conversation features
Square 2K-class video
Arlo specifies a maximum resolution of 1944 × 1944 pixels. The square image and diagonal 180-degree view are designed for vertical coverage, helping show both a person’s face and deliveries below the lens. The specification is a manufacturer rating rather than an independent laboratory measurement.

Black-and-white infrared night vision
At night, the doorbell switches to black-and-white infrared imaging. Arlo specifies one 850nm infrared LED with illumination up to 20 feet. That distance is a rated maximum under Arlo’s specification; walls, porch layout, weather and ambient light can affect what is visible.
Full-duplex two-way audio
You can speak with visitors through the Arlo app using full-duplex two-way audio, allowing both sides to talk without taking turns. Arlo lists microphone noise reduction and echo cancellation. Its statement that “Two-way audio means you’re always home, even when you’re not” is marketing language from Arlo, not an independent test result.

Installation and network requirements
The second-generation model supports either wired or wireless installation. It connects over 2.4GHz Wi-Fi, so check that your intended mounting location receives a stable 2.4GHz signal before drilling or charging the unit.

The angled plate can help point the camera toward a walkway that is not directly in front of the door. Follow the included wiring instructions if you are replacing an existing wired doorbell; wireless operation avoids a doorbell-circuit connection but requires keeping the battery charged.

Do you need an Arlo subscription?
Arlo says live streaming and basic alerts work without a subscription. The purchase includes a one-month trial of an Arlo Secure plan, which adds enhanced alerts and video-history features. Trial length, included features and renewal terms can change, so review the current plan terms in the checkout flow and cancel before renewal if you do not want a paid plan.
Without a subscription, confirm which recordings, notification types and history controls remain available for your account and region. The camera’s ability to show a live view is separate from cloud video-history features.

Both configurations use the same doorbell capabilities: 1944 × 1944 video, a 180-degree diagonal view, up to 20 feet of rated infrared illumination, and two-way audio. Choose the bundle for the indoor alert, not for a different camera specification.
How this deal compares with earlier price references
A Homes & Gardens deal report dated February 19, 2026, described a $49.99 limited-time price and said the product had been $129.99. Arlo’s 2023 launch release gave an original MSRP of $99.99. Those are different reference prices from different dates; neither establishes what the regular price will be after the current listing ends. Treat $49.99 as a volatile deal price, not a permanent MSRP.
