The Arlec PA1622HA is a cooling-only portable air conditioner rated by Arlec at 4.68 kW (16,000 BTU). It includes a window kit and supports Grid Connect app control, but the published specifications are not independent performance tests, and the available owner feedback is limited to one review. What the PA1622HA is—and what it is not
Arlec lists the PA1622HA as its White Grid Connect Smart Portable Air Conditioner. It is a cooling-only model. Do not confuse it with the PA1622HCHA: Bunnings lists that separate model as a heating-and-cooling unit, with 4.68 kW cooling and 3.28 kW heating. What the evidence says about cooling and noise
The available figures establish the manufacturer’s rated capacity and stated noise level; they do not show how quickly the unit cools a particular room or how loud it is in a measured operating test. The sources do not provide a verified room-size recommendation for the PA1622HA. Room layout, ceiling height, sun exposure and other heat loads matter when judging whether a portable unit’s capacity suits your space.
Arlec’s product page displays one five-star owner review. The reviewer, Nadine P., says she used the unit for three years in a large living area with high ceilings and bought more for bedrooms, which she says became very cool. That is one person’s account, not a controlled test or representative sample, so it cannot establish typical coverage, cooling speed, reliability, energy use or quietness.

Controls, app and voice-assistant compatibility
Arlec lists touch-pad controls, a remote and a 24-hour timer. Its product description says the PA1622HA works with the GRID Connect app, with control over home Wi-Fi or mobile internet. The broader Grid Connect product description also names Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa compatibility, with assistants sold separately. These are manufacturer-described features; availability of a particular integration or function can depend on region, network and software configuration.
The same owner review says the reviewer struggled to use the app and stopped using the smart features. That reports one user’s experience, not a general verdict on setup or app quality.

Plan the window-kit setup before buying
Arlec says a window kit is included. Since the exhaust setup is part of using a portable air conditioner, check that the included kit suits your window type and that all panels and components are present. Arlec’s displayed reviewer says she misplaced one panel and later struggled to find a replacement vent kit. This is a single anecdote, not proof of a widespread parts shortage; ask Arlec or the retailer about compatible replacements before relying on a third-party part.
Arlec links an instruction manual from its product page, but the available text did not establish exact window dimensions, drainage steps, clearance requirements, maintenance intervals or troubleshooting procedures. Confirm those details in the current manual or with Arlec rather than assuming they are standard across portable air conditioners.
