Short answer: Emem Obot and Brandon Williams’ current relationship status has not been publicly confirmed as of August 7, 2026.
The latest directly reported confirmation placed them together and engaged around the Married at First Sight Season 18 reunion, filmed nearly a year after the season itself. However, that March 2025 reporting does not prove they are still together in August 2026. There is also no verified direct breakup announcement from either Emem or Brandon.
What happened between Emem and Brandon?
Emem Obot was originally matched with Ikechi Ojore on Married at First Sight Season 18. That marriage ended in divorce. Afterward, Brandon Williams entered the story and proposed to Emem.
Emem accepted Brandon’s proposal, and the engagement was shown in a Season 18 episode preview published on March 4, 2025. Their relationship was therefore not the couple’s original arranged match on the show; it developed after Emem’s marriage to Ikechi ended.

At the Season 18 reunion, the pair also participated in what coverage called a commitment ceremony. That wording matters: the reunion event was not reported as a legal wedding. Describing it as proof that Emem and Brandon were legally married is inaccurate.
Were Emem and Brandon still together at the reunion?
Yes. Reunion-era reporting said Emem and Brandon were still together when the Season 18 reunion was filmed. The reunion was filmed almost a year after the cast filmed the main season, making that a meaningful update over their on-screen storyline.
Emem also reportedly posted an Instagram Story tagging Brandon and mentioning that he brought her pepper soup when she was sick. That was additional evidence of their relationship around the time of the reunion coverage, which was published on or around March 7, 2025.

That evidence establishes their status at that point in time—not their status more than a year later.
Are Emem Obot and Brandon Williams still together in 2026?
There is no verified public answer. The most accurate wording as of August 7, 2026, is: their present relationship status has not been publicly confirmed.
A January 6, 2026 report noted that neither Emem nor Brandon had publicly confirmed that they were still together or that they had broken up. It also said they had not appeared together publicly in recent updates. That report used inconsistent language, however—first treating the status as unconfirmed and later describing them as “no longer publicly together.” Because it did not cite a direct breakup announcement, it should not be treated as proof that they separated.

In practical terms, the public record supports two conclusions:
- They were together and engaged during the Season 18 reunion period in March 2025.
- There is no reliable public confirmation establishing whether they are together, married, or separated on August 7, 2026.
Timeline of Emem and Brandon’s relationship
| Date or period | What is publicly reported |
|---|---|
| Season 18 | Emem was originally matched with Ikechi Ojore. Their marriage ended in divorce. |
| March 4, 2025 | A preview showed Brandon proposing to Emem after her divorce from Ikechi. Emem accepted. |
| Season 18 reunion period | Emem and Brandon were reported as still together. They took part in a commitment ceremony, not a verified legal wedding. |
| Around March 7, 2025 | Reports referenced Emem’s Instagram Story tagging Brandon and saying he brought her pepper soup while she was sick. |
| January 6, 2026 | A report said neither person had confirmed a current relationship or breakup and that they had not recently appeared together publicly. Its wording did not establish a split. |
| August 7, 2026 | No verified public update establishes whether they remain together, married, or separated. |
Why some reports may give a misleading answer
Several details can easily be combined incorrectly:
- Reunion-era confirmation is not a current update. “Still together” was accurate for the period covered by the March 2025 reunion reporting. It should not automatically be presented as an August 2026 fact.
- The commitment ceremony was not confirmed as a legal marriage. A televised or reunion ceremony can represent a relationship commitment without changing the couple’s legal marital status.
- Not being seen together is not proof of a breakup. A lack of recent public appearances can justify saying the relationship is unconfirmed, but it cannot by itself establish that the couple separated.
- Their status is separate from the original-match results. Reports identifying Camille Parsons and Thomas McDonald as Season 18’s only lasting original match do not prove that Emem and Brandon broke up. Brandon was not Emem’s original Season 18 match.
What can be stated confidently?
The defensible answer is narrower than many headlines suggest. Emem and Brandon were together and engaged during the Season 18 reunion coverage, and Emem accepted Brandon’s proposal. They also participated in a commitment ceremony that was not reported as a legal marriage.

After that reunion-era coverage, the available evidence does not include a direct, verified statement from Emem or Brandon confirming that they are still together or announcing a breakup. Therefore, claims that they are definitely still together—or definitely separated—go beyond the verified record.
Sources and verification notes
The relationship timeline and reunion status were reported by Monsters and Critics. The proposal was covered in a March 4, 2025 episode-preview report. A January 6, 2026 report discussed the lack of a confirmed current status, but its contradictory wording means it is not reliable proof of a breakup.
