Yes—Bose QuietComfort Earbuds are worth considering if you want adjustable noise control, multipoint Bluetooth, and longer manufacturer-rated battery life at a lower listed price than Bose’s Ultra model. The current standard earbuds are a different product from the original 2020 QuietComfort Earbuds and from the QuietComfort Ultra line. They do not include Ultra features such as CustomTune or Immersive Audio, and comfort depends on how the included tips and stability bands fit your ears.
Which QuietComfort Earbuds does this article cover?
This is about Bose’s current standard QuietComfort Earbuds, model QCEARB24-HEADPHONEIN. The name is easy to confuse with the original QuietComfort Earbuds announced in 2020 or the separate, more premium QuietComfort Ultra range. Specifications for those older or Ultra products should not be assumed to apply to this model. Bose announced the original in 2020 and introduced the Ultra line in 2023.
What do the standard QuietComfort Earbuds offer?
Adjustable noise control
Bose lists active noise cancellation and three listening modes: Quiet, Aware, and Off. Quiet is for reducing surrounding sound, Aware lets more of it through, and Off turns ANC off. These are the available controls, not proof of a particular noise-reduction result: the cited Bose material does not provide independent measurements for this exact model. Bose describes the modes and controls on its earbud controls page.
Battery life and charging
Bose rates the earbuds for up to 8.5 hours per charge and says the case provides another 2.5 charges, for up to 31.5 hours total. These are manufacturer figures, not independently measured results, and actual listening time depends on use. The case can be charged with a compatible third-party wireless charger; Bose does not include that charger.
#1 Best Overall
- WORLD-CLASS NOISE CANCELLATION: The best noise cancellation of any Bose wireless earbuds is now even better than before. ActiveSense technology smooths spikes in surrounding sound, so even in Aware Mode distractions won’t get in the way.
- CUSTOMTUNE TECHNOLOGY: CustomTune technology analyses your ears and adapts your in-ear headphones to their shape. The result? World-class noise cancellation and custom sound for bigger chills every time you press play.
- NOISE CONTROL: Quickly adjust the level of noise cancellation without using Modes, including turning it off completely to conserve battery.
- IMMERSIVE AUDIO: Bose Immersive Audio spatialises what you’re hearing by taking it out of your head and placing it beyond your Bluetooth earbuds. It’s like listening from the acoustic sweet spot, where songs sound like the artist intended.
- SECURE FIT AND STABILITY: Choose from nine combos of eartips and stability bands to find the snuggest fit for comfortable earbuds. The soft, umbrella-shaped tips seal the opening of your ear to reduce outside noises while stability bands hug them.
Fit options
The package includes small, medium, and large eartips and stability bands. Bose describes nine combinations of those sizes, giving you options to find a secure fit. That range is useful, but it cannot guarantee comfort or a stable seal for every ear shape.
Connectivity, app, and calls
Bose lists Bluetooth multipoint, which supports switching between connected devices, and either earbud can be used on its own. The Bose QCE app—not the standard Bose app—provides adjustable EQ, ANC settings, customizable touch controls, and voice features. Bose also describes an adaptive microphone system for calls; that establishes a call feature, not a tested call-quality ranking.
Water resistance and other compatibility notes
Bose specifies an IPX4 water-resistance rating and describes resistance to sweat and splashes. IPX4 does not mean waterproof or suitable for submersion. Bose says the earbuds can connect to compatible Bose speakers or soundbars through SimpleSync, but are not fully optimized for seamless Bluetooth audio-video use with those products.

How do they compare with QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds (2nd Gen)?
Bose’s US product pages listed the following prices and specifications when accessed on October 9, 2026. Prices can change; the battery figures are Bose ratings, not independent measurements.
| Comparison | QuietComfort Earbuds | QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds (2nd Gen) |
|---|---|---|
| US listed price | $129; original price shown as $179 | $299 |
| Battery per charge | Up to 8.5 hours | Up to 6 hours |
| Listening features | Quiet, Aware, and Off; ANC; multipoint | Quiet, Aware, and Immersion; ActiveSense; CustomTune; Immersive Audio; multipoint |
| Fit components | Three eartip sizes and three stability-band sizes | Bose lists nine combinations of eartips and stability bands |
| Case charging | Compatible third-party wireless charger can charge the case; charger not included | Bose lists a wireless charging case |
| Best reason to choose | Lower listed price and longer claimed battery life for core noise-control use | Premium Bose listening features, including CustomTune and Immersive Audio |
The comparison describes listed features and ratings; it does not establish that either model sounds better or cancels more noise in independent testing. Bose’s current in-ear earbuds lineup is the reference for the distinction.
Will they fit comfortably?
There is no fit guarantee. Before deciding the earbuds do not work for you, try the supplied combinations of eartips and stability bands; changing either can affect how securely an earbud sits. Bose’s guidance about XS and XL eartips and stability bands 0 and 4 applies specifically to QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds (2nd Gen), not this standard model, so do not assume those alternate sizes are available for it. See Bose’s Ultra 2nd Gen fit guidance for that model’s scope.

What accessories are useful?
Bose lists a QuietComfort Earbuds Fit Kit and a Silicone Case Cover as accessories for the standard model. The Fit Kit is most relevant if included parts are lost or replacements are needed, rather than as a required first purchase. A case cover is optional protection. Bose also says compatible third-party wireless charging can be used with the charging case, but the charger is not included.

They make sense if
- You want Quiet, Aware, and Off modes with ANC and prefer choosing how much outside sound to hear.
- You value multipoint Bluetooth and Bose’s claimed 8.5-hour per-charge battery rating.
- You want core QuietComfort features at a lower listed price than the Ultra 2nd Gen.
Consider the Ultra 2nd Gen if
- You specifically want CustomTune or Immersive Audio, which Bose lists for Ultra rather than the standard earbuds.
- You prefer the Ultra model’s listed wireless charging case and are willing to pay its higher listed US price.
For either choice, treat price snapshots as temporary and compare the current Bose listing before purchasing. The available source material does not establish independent noise-cancellation, sound-quality, call-quality, or comfort results for this exact standard model.
