Weapon amplification is a fifth quality tier for a launch set of 15 ARC Raiders weapons. It is accessed through the fully upgraded Research Workstation in the Outpost and lets players choose upgrades that can change how a weapon behaves—not simply attach a conventional mod or apply a guaranteed damage boost.
Embark’s October 2026 announcement confirms three examples: a fully automatic Burletta, a scoped Renegade, and a Rattler with incendiary bullets and a 64-round magazine. It does not publish a complete weapon list, branch matrix, or materials table. Use the live Research Workstation’s branch descriptions and costs as the final authority before committing.
What weapon amplification does
Amplification is a late-game progression system for adapting selected guns to different play styles. Embark described its purpose as giving Raiders who rely on a few favorite weapons new ways to personalize and reinvent their arsenal. Instead of treating the fifth quality level as a universal upgrade to damage, read it as a way to change a weapon’s behavior or role through branching abilities and enhancements.
The system arrived with the Frozen Trail update on October 8, 2026. Embark’s update materials identify both Amplified Weapons and the Outpost Research Bench among the update’s additions. Its preview says players can access a fifth quality level for a range of guns using the fully upgraded Research Workstation in the Outpost. Embark announced 15 eligible weapons at launch and said more were planned; that is a launch count, not a promise that every weapon will eventually be eligible.

Amplification is not a standard attachment
The important distinction is where the choice lives and what it can do. The Research Workstation is the access point, and the choices can alter firing behavior, ammunition, or handling. The official examples include a firing-mode change, an added scope, and changes to ammunition and magazine capacity. The announcement does not describe amplification as a blanket stat increase, so compare the exact branch effects rather than assuming every amplified version is stronger in every situation.
Which weapons can be amplified in ARC Raiders?
At launch, Embark confirmed a pool of 15 weapons but publicly named only three examples in the preview. The official information therefore establishes that these three have amplification paths, but it does not provide enough detail for a complete compatibility chart.

Those are examples, not necessarily every branch available for those guns. Nor do they identify the other 12 launch weapons. The current Research Workstation is the reliable place to see which weapons are eligible on your build and which branches are actually available.

Other paths reported by community sources
A community-maintained wiki describes additional options, including anti-weak-point or projectile-splitting choices for the Anvil; semi-automatic Hairpin; burst-fire Burletta; full-automatic Kettle or Burletta; reload changes; sprint shooting for several weapons; a carbine conversion for the Canto; and scopes for the Renegade and Jupiter. These are secondary-source reports, not a complete official compatibility list. Treat them as leads to check in-game, not as a definitive description of every current branch.
Because this system launched recently and can be adjusted, availability and tooltip wording may change. A weapon or branch that appears in a community reference should not be assumed to be available on every account, in every game version, or at the same cost. Confirm the option in your own Research Workstation before planning around it.
How to unlock weapon amplification
The prerequisite established by Embark is a fully upgraded Research Workstation in the Outpost. The official materials reviewed for the October 2026 launch do not specify the workstation’s complete upgrade-material list or a precise sequence of menus for reaching each branch. Use the game’s displayed progression requirements rather than relying on an older cost guide.

- Open the Outpost and check the Research Workstation. Confirm its current level and read the displayed upgrade requirement. Amplification is accessed through this station, not through an ordinary weapon attachment screen.
- Upgrade the workstation fully. Embark identifies a fully upgraded Research Workstation as the requirement for accessing the fifth quality tier. Gather only the materials listed in the current in-game upgrade screen.
- Select an eligible weapon. Check the station for the weapon’s available amplification paths. The launch announcement names 15 eligible weapons overall but does not publish the full list.
- Read the entire branch description and cost. Compare what the branch changes, any prerequisite shown, and the materials required. Do this on the confirmation screen immediately before committing.
- Decide whether the change fits your use. Consider the firing mode, ammunition, magazine and reload behavior, sighting, and handling described by the tooltip. Choose based on the situations in which you expect to use the gun, rather than assuming a higher tier is automatically better.
A community wiki reports that the Outpost and the Gunsmith and Research Stations must be level 4. Embark’s official preview confirms the fully upgraded Research Workstation requirement, but the additional level-4 details were not confirmed in the official launch material. Check the live station requirements rather than treating that community report as a universal prerequisite.
What does weapon amplification cost?
There is no complete official materials or per-weapon cost table in Embark’s October 2026 preview and update information. The amount needed to upgrade the station and the cost of each weapon branch are therefore not established by those official materials. ARC Raiders Hub’s guide, updated October 11, 2026, says it was still filling in some tooltip values and research costs; it should not be treated as a settled price list.
Use the Research Workstation’s displayed figures for the exact branch you intend to unlock. Costs can differ by station upgrade or weapon path, and the available evidence does not establish that one published figure applies to all weapons. Before spending materials, check that the selected weapon and branch are correct and that the confirmation screen shows the expected requirements. If the displayed cost conflicts with an older guide, use the live in-game value.

How to choose a branch
Start with the job you want the weapon to do, then evaluate the branch’s actual changes. Embark presents amplification as branching personalization, so a change can be useful for one situation and a poor fit for another. The right choice depends on how you intend to use the weapon, not merely on whether the branch sounds more powerful.
- Target: Decide whether you mainly want the weapon for fighting Raiders, ARC, or a mix. An ammunition effect or anti-weak-point option may matter differently depending on your intended target, but inspect the tooltip rather than assuming how much damage it adds.
- Firing mode: A full-auto or burst-fire path changes how the gun is operated. Consider whether that mode matches your preferred control and engagement style; the announcement does not publish a universal performance ranking for these changes.
- Magazine and reload rhythm: A larger magazine, such as the Rattler’s announced 64-round example, changes capacity. Check whether the branch also changes reload behavior and weigh the full combination rather than capacity alone.
- Aiming and movement: A scope or a reported sprint-shooting path affects how you approach aiming or movement. Check what the actual branch says and consider the situations where you need those behaviors.
- Handling trade-offs: Compare accuracy, recoil, and reload effects wherever the live tooltip supplies them. Do not assume that a branch improves all of these at once; the available official examples establish behavior changes, not a guaranteed across-the-board buff.
For a PvP-focused loadout, prioritize the handling and firing behavior you can use reliably against Raiders. For PvE, consider whether the branch suits the ARC encounters you plan to take. These are decision criteria, not claims that a particular amplified weapon has a proven win-rate, damage advantage, or best-in-class role: no such performance statistics are established in the official launch material.

The community wiki reports that an amplification choice cannot be reverted. Embark’s official announcement does not confirm that limitation in the material reviewed here, so treat reversibility as unverified rather than guaranteed. If you are considering a branch you may later regret, check the current in-game confirmation screen for a warning or undo option before spending anything. Do not commit based solely on a secondary-source claim or assume another branch can be selected afterward.
What the launch information does—and does not—establish
As of October 13, 2026, the clearest confirmed facts are the fifth-tier structure, the fully upgraded Research Workstation access point, the 15-weapon launch pool, and Embark’s three named examples. These details come from Embark Studios’ Frozen Trail preview and update materials. The exact station upgrade inputs, full weapon roster, complete branch effects, and per-branch costs are not provided in those official materials.
Community references add useful possibilities, but they are not substitutes for the live game’s requirements and descriptions. In particular, a list of reported effects should not be read as proof that every branch is currently available, and an unverified cost or prerequisite should not be presented as official. When planning an upgrade, the in-game Research Workstation is the final check for eligibility, current wording, requirements, and cost.
