ARC Raiders Update 2.1.0 begins a temporary test of a PvE matchmaking toggle, adds the Carrion Set to the in-game store, and fixes issues across gameplay, maps, performance, and other systems. The PvE test runs from October 13 at 11:00 CEST until October 20 at 11:00 CEST, 2026. It is a test—not confirmation that a permanent PvE option is coming.
What changed in ARC Raiders Update 2.1.0?
The October 13, 2026 update announcement introduces the PvE matchmaking test and lists fixes across animation, audio, ARC behavior, gameplay, items, maps, quests, performance, UI, cosmetics, and weapons. Among the listed fixes, animation changes address enlarged character models and make vaulting more stable on the remains of the Matriarch, Vaporizer, Hydra, and Firefly. Audio changes reduce overly loud outdoor footsteps and make melee hits on weak points clearer.
Gameplay and item fixes cover skill activation, inventory-weight calculations, stamina-restoring consumables interacting with Sprinting on Fumes, and Grappling Hook traversal and durability. Map changes include collision and traversal adjustments, lighting and reflection improvements, and terrain fixes on Pendola Pass.

Embark also says it reduced memory use on Spaceport, Buried City, and Dam Battlegrounds to improve stability, with particular benefits for Xbox Series S. These are examples from a wider changelog that also includes changes to ARC behavior, quests, cosmetics, UI, the Reward Pass, Outpost, the skill tree, and weapons.
How does the temporary PvE matchmaking test work?
The test adds a toggle between standard PvPvE matchmaking and PvE servers. On PvE servers, players cannot damage one another. Throwable stun and fire items also do not work on other players, while physical-interaction items such as barricades and ziplines are unaffected. Embark says overall loot value is lower in PvE.

What should players expect in PvE?
Items and player interactions
Although player damage is disabled, not every item interaction is removed. Throwable stun and fire items will not work on other players, but barricades and ziplines remain unaffected. The notice does not describe further item-by-item behavior.
Squad sizes and queue times
PvE matchmaking will not prioritize separating players by squad size, so different-sized groups may be matched together more often. Embark also warns that matchmaking times may be affected in regions with fewer players and during quiet hours; it does not publish a specific wait-time estimate.
Downed players and ARC enemies
ARC enemies can reacquire a downed player after an eight-second grace period if they catch that player moving. The grace period is not a guarantee of safety if the player moves and is spotted.

Is ARC Raiders getting a permanent PvE mode?
Not yet. Embark describes the toggle as a beta test and says player feedback and in-game data will help determine whether it becomes a permanent part of the game. The developer will also gather data from standard PvPvE sessions to understand how the toggle affects that experience, and plans to send a survey after the test for more detailed feedback.
What is the Carrion Set, and how much does it cost?
The update announcement confirms that the Carrion Set is available in the in-game store. It does not specify what the set contains, its price, or whether availability differs by platform, so those details cannot be confirmed from the announcement.
