Can your PC run ARC Raiders? Compare your hardware with Embark Studios’ three published targets: Minimum for Low settings at 1080p and 60 fps, Recommended for High settings at 1440p and 60 fps, or Epic for Epic settings at 1440p and 90 fps with resolution-scaling quality. These are developer targets, not guarantees for every computer.

The requirements page was last updated October 1, 2025. Use the tier that matches the experience you want, then check the CPU, graphics card, memory, operating system, DirectX version and internet connection separately. A component that exceeds one requirement does not automatically compensate for another component that falls below it.

ARC Raiders PC requirements at a glance

Embark Studios lists Windows, processor, memory and graphics-card examples for three performance targets. The table below is the most useful starting point for an upgrade decision.

Which ARC Raiders target should you choose?

Your target determines whether your current PC is ready and which upgrade is worthwhile. Decide this before shopping for parts.

Minimum: entry-level 1080p play

The Minimum tier is aimed at Low graphics settings at 1080p and a 60-fps target. It is the sensible baseline for a 1080p monitor when keeping hardware spending to a minimum. Meeting this tier means matching all of its listed CPU, GPU and RAM requirements, not just owning a graphics card from the table.

Recommended: High at 1440p and 60 fps

The Recommended tier is the practical quality target for a modern 1440p display. Embark describes it as High graphics settings, 1440p and 60 fps. If your system is between the Minimum and Recommended tiers, the graphics card is often the first part to investigate, but verify the processor and memory independently rather than assuming a faster GPU solves every limitation.

Epic: 1440p and 90 fps

The Epic tier is for Epic settings at 1440p and a 90-fps target using resolution-scaling quality. It calls for substantially stronger graphics hardware than the Recommended tier while retaining 16 GB of RAM. This is a published target, not a promise that every system with one of the named cards will hold 90 fps in every scene.

How to check whether your PC meets a tier

Use this sequence to make a component-by-component comparison before buying anything.

  1. Record your goal. Write down the target tier, monitor resolution and desired frame rate. Use Minimum, Recommended or Epic rather than comparing against an undefined “can it run?” standard.
  2. Check Windows. Open Settings > System > About and confirm that Windows is 10 or later and 64-bit. Install the latest available Windows updates. A 32-bit installation does not match the published operating-system requirement.
  3. Identify the processor. In Settings > System > About, read the processor field, or open Task Manager > Performance > CPU. Compare the exact model with the CPU listed for your chosen tier. Model names that sound newer are not automatically equivalent; compare the specific model designation.
  4. Identify the graphics card. Open Task Manager > Performance > GPU, or run dxdiag and inspect the Display tab. Record the exact GPU model, including the suffix or memory variant, then compare it with the relevant examples in the table.
  5. Check installed memory. In Task Manager > Performance > Memory, note total installed RAM. Less than 12 GB is below the listed Minimum amount; 16 GB is the amount shown for both Recommended and Epic. Also note whether the system is using one module or a matched pair, because motherboard layout and configuration affect an upgrade.
  6. Verify DirectX. Press Win+R, enter dxdiag, and read the DirectX Version field on the System tab. The storefront listings specify DirectX 12.
  7. Confirm internet access. Steam lists broadband internet as a requirement. Check that the computer has a reliable connection suitable for an online game and that security software or network policies will not block the game’s services.
  8. Check storage without inventing a number. Keep enough free space for the installation, updates and your normal system operation, but note that the official listings do not state a verified ARC Raiders capacity. Check the current store listing or developer requirements page when you install.

How to interpret a mixed result

Do not reduce the audit to a single “pass” or “fail.” Compare CPU, GPU and RAM separately against the same target tier.

CPU, GPU and RAM all meet Minimum Your hardware matches the developer’s Low/1080p/60 target on paper. Try the game at Low settings and adjust only after observing actual behavior.
CPU and RAM meet Recommended, GPU is below it The graphics card is the clearly identified shortfall for the High/1440p/60 target. Investigate a GPU upgrade, then verify power, case and motherboard compatibility.
GPU meets Recommended, CPU is below it The processor does not match the published Recommended tier. Check whether your motherboard supports a compatible processor; a graphics-card purchase alone does not address this gap.
RAM is below the target Memory is under the listed requirement even if the CPU and GPU are stronger. Consider a compatible RAM kit after checking motherboard limits and existing modules.
All parts meet a selected tier No new purchase is established as necessary by the requirements list. Install current drivers and test the game at that tier; the published list is not an independent benchmark.

What to upgrade first

Upgrade RAM when capacity is the shortfall

If your system has less than 12 GB, it is below the listed Minimum. Moving to 16 GB aligns with the Recommended and Epic memory amount, provided the motherboard and operating system support it. Before ordering, check the motherboard manual or manufacturer support page for the maximum capacity, supported memory type, slot count and approved speeds. Confirm whether your current modules can be retained; mixing kits can create compatibility or stability problems.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
  • Shut down the PC and disconnect power before opening the case.
  • Check how many memory slots are occupied and whether the modules are installed as a matched pair.
  • Match the new kit to the motherboard’s supported generation and capacity.
  • After installation, return to Task Manager > Performance > Memory and confirm that the full capacity is recognized.

Upgrade the GPU when graphics capability is below your target

A graphics-card upgrade is the most direct path when the current GPU falls below your chosen tier. Embark’s Recommended examples are the GeForce RTX 2070, Radeon RX 5700 XT and Intel Arc B570. The Epic examples are GeForce RTX 4070 Ti, GeForce RTX 5070 and Radeon RX 7900 XTX. These are requirement examples, not a ranking or a claim that one model delivers a specific frame rate over another.

Check the complete platform before selecting a card:

  • Power supply: verify wattage, available PCIe power connectors and the supply’s age and condition.
  • Case clearance: measure maximum card length, height and thickness, including room for airflow.
  • Motherboard: confirm a suitable expansion slot and physical access. The requirement list does not certify compatibility with your particular board.
  • CPU balance: if your processor is below the same target tier, a GPU-only upgrade may leave that separate shortfall unresolved.
  • Local pricing: compare current prices and availability in your region. No universal price is established by the requirements.

Upgrade the CPU only after checking the platform

If the processor is below your goal while the GPU and RAM already meet it, investigate a CPU upgrade. A processor is tied to a motherboard socket, chipset, firmware support and memory generation. Identify the exact motherboard model, consult its supported-CPU list and check whether a firmware update is required. In some older systems, replacing the CPU also requires a motherboard and memory change; treat that as a platform upgrade rather than assuming a drop-in replacement.

Fix the operating-system or API mismatch

A computer with adequate hardware still misses the published requirement if it runs a 32-bit edition of Windows, an unsupported Windows release or lacks DirectX 12 support. Bring Windows to the latest available update, verify the 64-bit edition and check dxdiag. If the machine cannot support the required operating-system or graphics API environment, hardware upgrades alone may not make it suitable.

Scenario 1: 8 GB of RAM, otherwise Minimum-class parts

The computer is below Minimum because 8 GB is less than the listed 12 GB, regardless of its processor or GPU. Check motherboard support and install a compatible configuration. After the upgrade, the system can be reassessed against the remaining Minimum requirements.

Scenario 2: Recommended-class CPU and 16 GB, but a Minimum-class GPU

The processor and memory align with the higher target, but the graphics card does not. A GPU upgrade is the logical component to investigate for High at 1440p/60. Confirm power, dimensions and board compatibility first; do not infer a specific frame rate from the model names alone.

Scenario 3: A strong GPU paired with a processor below Minimum

The graphics card cannot erase a CPU shortfall. Compare the processor with the Minimum CPU listing, then determine whether the existing motherboard can accept a supported replacement. If it cannot, budget for a platform change instead of buying an even faster GPU.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Scenario 4: Every component meets Recommended, but you want Epic

Meeting Recommended does not establish Epic performance. Compare the current CPU and GPU with the Epic row, especially the graphics requirement and 90-fps target. Upgrade only the components that fail the Epic comparison, while checking the complete system for power, cooling and compatibility.

Settings and troubleshooting after installation

The game starts, but performance is below the target

First confirm that the in-game resolution, quality preset and resolution-scaling option match the target you selected. A system assessed for Minimum should not be judged against Epic settings. Close unnecessary background applications, install current graphics drivers and make sure the game is using the intended dedicated GPU rather than an integrated adapter. These steps can remove configuration problems, but they do not turn a below-tier component into a tested equivalent.

Stuttering or instability after a RAM upgrade

Power off and reseat the modules, then verify the total capacity in Task Manager. If the system becomes unstable, return memory settings to the motherboard’s default profile and test one matched kit at a time. Consult the board’s compatibility list before combining modules from different kits.

Display or launch errors involving DirectX

Run dxdiag, apply Windows updates and install the current driver for the graphics adapter. If the operating system or GPU does not support DirectX 12, the published requirements are not met; replacing only a game setting will not resolve that platform limitation.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Online connection problems

Because broadband internet is listed, test the connection outside the game, restart network equipment and check whether firewall or security rules are blocking the game. A connection problem is separate from CPU, GPU and RAM eligibility.

What the official requirements do—and do not—tell you

The specifications establish three hardware-and-target combinations from Embark Studios. They do not provide independent benchmark results for every processor and graphics card, guarantee a fixed frame rate in all situations, specify a universal storage capacity in the storefront data captured here, or determine compatibility with your individual case, power supply and motherboard. They also do not establish current component prices.

Use the requirements as a screening tool: select a target, compare every listed component, verify Windows 64-bit, DirectX 12 and broadband internet, then inspect the physical and electrical constraints of any proposed upgrade. If your system already meets the chosen tier, the evidence does not require a purchase; test the game and adjust settings based on your own display and performance expectations.

Keeping the requirements current

Game requirements can change as development, drivers and storefront listings change. The figures in this guide reflect Embark’s page updated October 1, 2025, with Steam and Epic Games Store listings also identifying the listed platform requirements. Before installing or ordering hardware, open the current Embark requirements page and the current store listing, because later revisions may alter supported operating systems, components or performance targets.
