Yes—some ARC Raiders Outpost furniture provides storage separate from your ordinary stash. A fully developed and furnished Outpost may therefore add hundreds of usable spaces, according to a current secondary guide, but Embark Studios has not published a guaranteed total. Your actual bonus depends on which rooms, furniture designs and upgrades you have unlocked and placed.
What Outpost furniture storage actually does
Outpost furniture is not automatically storage. Only pieces with a storage role can hold items, and each piece can accept particular item types. The live game interface shows both the capacity and the eligible items when you select a furniture item.
That capacity should not be treated as an increase to the number displayed for your standard stash. Outpost containers are an additional place to store qualifying items, with their own limits and placement requirements.
Examples of storage-bearing furniture
- Weapon racks: a current guide reports that each rack can hold up to four weapons.
- Larger shelves: the same guide reports examples holding up to eight items.
- Tables, cabinets and other shelves: community references describe these as possible storage furniture, but their accepted item types and capacities vary by design.
Those figures are guide-reported examples, not a complete or official capacity table. Check the tooltip in your current version before spending materials or planning a layout.

Why players are hearing “hundreds of extra slots”
The “hundreds” figure describes a possible fully furnished Outpost, not a guaranteed reward that every player receives. More rooms, storage-capable designs and upgrades create more opportunities to place containers. A player with only the initial area and a few designs will have substantially less capacity than someone who has expanded and filled the Outpost.
Embark’s official Frozen Trail 2.0 update confirms that 100 Furniture Designs were added. It explains that, “Similar to blueprints, they can be learned and used to craft different furniture for your Outpost.” The update does not state a total number of storage slots for a completed Outpost.

How to unlock the Outpost
You must unlock the Outpost through its project before you can use its furniture systems. Embark’s update reminds players to accept the quest and bring a camera. A current guide identifies the project as Sheltered Retreat and describes a photograph step, a materials-delivery step and damage-related objectives. Requirements can change, so use the project tracker in your game as the authoritative checklist.
- Open the project menu and accept the Outpost project.
- Bring a camera before attempting the photo objective.
- Complete the currently listed photo, delivery and damage objectives.
- Return to the project screen and verify that the Outpost unlock has been credited.
How to turn furniture into extra storage
- Learn a design. Furniture Designs work like blueprints: once learned, they become available for crafting.
- Check the furniture’s role. Select the item and confirm that the interface identifies it as storage. Decorative pieces do not necessarily hold anything.
- Read the capacity and item filter. Note the displayed number of slots and whether the piece accepts weapons, materials or another category.
- Confirm the crafting cost. Compare the required materials with what you can reliably obtain. A higher-capacity design is not useful if it consumes materials needed for progression.
- Place the furniture. Outpost placement space is limited, and community references report clipping or blocked placement slots. Move nearby objects if the game refuses a valid-looking placement.
- Deposit items and verify them. Move only eligible items into the furniture, then confirm that they appear in the furniture’s own inventory rather than assuming the standard stash count changed.
How to choose which furniture to craft first

Start with furniture that solves your immediate bottleneck. Weapon racks are sensible when weapon overflow is the problem; shelves, tables or cabinets may be better for other item categories if their in-game filters match what you need to store. There is no verified single best layout because room capacities, available designs and placement behavior are version-sensitive.

Common mistakes and fixes
Assuming every chair or cabinet adds space
Furniture appearance does not prove storage functionality. Open the item details and look for a storage role, capacity and accepted-item list before crafting.

Outpost furniture can hold items outside the ordinary stash, but it may not change the stash’s displayed slot total. Track the furniture inventories separately.

Planning around an online slot estimate
“Hundreds” is a possible full-Outpost estimate, not an official fixed number. Recheck each piece’s capacity after updates and after unlocking new rooms or designs.
Ignoring placement collisions
If a rack or shelf will not place, rotate it, clear nearby objects and try another valid surface. Community reports describe clipping and blocked placement slots, so a theoretical layout may not fit your current room.
What is confirmed—and what is not
- Confirmed by Embark: Frozen Trail 2.0 added 100 Furniture Designs, learned and crafted similarly to blueprints.
- Confirmed in the game’s system: storage-capable furniture can hold qualifying items outside the standard stash.
- Guide-reported: examples include four weapons per weapon rack and up to eight items in certain larger shelves.
- Not officially published: a guaranteed total capacity for a fully upgraded and furnished Outpost.
The Bottom Line
Crafting Outpost furniture is a practical way to get storage beyond your standard stash, and a heavily upgraded setup may provide hundreds of additional spaces. Treat that number as conditional: unlock the Outpost, learn storage-capable designs, inspect each item’s live capacity and filters, and plan around the room and placement limits shown in your current version.
