The currently reported way to unlock the Grappling Hook in Arc Raiders is the Nomadic Crafting survival skill. The available guide does not give a skill-point cost or a Grappling Hook crafting recipe. A separate item, the Snap Hook, has a documented blueprint and Utility Bench recipe, but current sources do not confirm that it is the same item. Keep the names distinct when following an acquisition guide.
How to unlock the Grappling Hook
PC Gamer’s guide, published October 8, 2026, says the Nomadic Crafting survival skill unlocks the Grappling Hook, along with the Zipline, several ammunition types, and the Shrapnel Grenade. It does not specify how many skill points Nomadic Crafting costs or provide a Grappling Hook material list. Read the Nomadic Crafting guide.
Grappling Hook and Snap Hook: what the sources establish
Older item references use the name Snap Hook for a grappling-hook gadget. The newer report uses Grappling Hook, but the sources do not establish whether that is a renamed item or a separate one. The documented blueprint and recipe below therefore apply to Snap Hook only—not to the Grappling Hook unless the game confirms they are the same.

Where to find the Snap Hook blueprint
The blueprint table lists Snap Hook as scavengable during Electromagnetic Storm conditions, with the container field set to “Anywhere.” This is the documented route for the Snap Hook blueprint; it does not establish a Grappling Hook blueprint location.
There is a conflicting quest claim: the blueprint table says Snap Hook has no quest reward, while the Snap Hook item page lists Lost in Transmission as a quest completion reward. Because those entries disagree, treat the quest route as unconfirmed and check the current in-game reward before relying on it.

How to use a Snap Hook blueprint
- Find and extract the blueprint. The workshop reference says a blueprint must be extracted before it can be used.
- Return to Speranza and consume it. After returning, consume the blueprint to add its recipe to the relevant station.
- Craft the Snap Hook at a level 3 Utility Bench. The listed recipe is 1 Exodus Module, 2 Power Rods, and 3 Ropes.

What to do if you need the Grappling Hook specifically
- Use the Nomadic Crafting survival skill as the currently reported Grappling Hook unlock path.
- Do not assume the Snap Hook blueprint, storm condition, Utility Bench tier, or materials apply to the Grappling Hook.
- Confirm the item name and recipe in your current game before spending materials, since the available sources do not reconcile the two names.
