The ARC Frigate is a timed map condition in ARC Raiders, not a permanently available location. To board it, a dated walkthrough says to climb or grapple onto one of the circular ARC drones it emits, then interact with the drone so it returns to the carrier. The event is described as challenging, but the available information does not establish a required squad size, a reliable solo difficulty rating, a confirmed loot table, or special extraction rules. Check Embark’s live map-condition tracker for your region and time before queueing; its schedule changes.

What the Frigate event is

The Frigate is a giant airborne ARC carrier that appears as a timed map condition. Embark’s live map-condition tracker lists conditions alongside maps and time windows, with the schedule dependent on the selected server region. On October 11, 2026, the tracker showed upcoming Frigate windows for Pendola Pass, Dam Battlegrounds, Buried City, The Blue Gate, and Spaceport. Those locations are a dated snapshot, not a permanent rotation or a prediction of what will be available when you play.

A community reference reports that the Frigate arrived with the Frozen Trail update on October 8, 2026, and describes it as an experienced-player challenge featuring interior routes, ARC enemies, rare tech, and possible encounters with other squads. Treat that as useful context rather than a guarantee about every run: a community summary is not a live event schedule or an itemized, verified loot list.

How to board the Frigate

PC Gamer’s October 8, 2026 walkthrough describes a boarding route involving the circular ARC drones emitted when the Frigate arrives. The sequence below is that guide’s account; game updates can change event mechanics, so follow what the current build presents if the interaction differs.

  1. Find a circular ARC drone. Look for one of the drones associated with the Frigate’s arrival.
  2. Reach the drone. The walkthrough says to climb or use a Grappling Hook to get onto it.
  3. Interact with it to disrupt it. The guide reports that this prompts the drone to fly back to the Frigate.
  4. Use the return trip to board. The reported route takes you to the carrier; the guide does not establish that this is the only possible boarding method in every version of the event.

If you cannot find a drone or the interaction does not work, first confirm that the Frigate condition is active on your current map and server region. The guide’s route is tied to an arriving event, so it should not be treated as a general method for entering a Frigate outside its active window. If a patch has changed the sequence, use the in-game cues rather than assuming an older walkthrough is authoritative.

How difficult is it, and can you go solo?

The available descriptions support calling the Frigate a challenging activity intended for experienced Raiders, but they do not supply a difficulty rating, solo completion data, or a comparison of how often solo and squad runs succeed. There is no evidence here for a universal rule that a solo player cannot complete it, or that a particular squad size makes it safe.

Instead, decide based on the demands you can manage in the run. The walkthrough describes ARC combat, interior traversal, and quest targets; the community reference also notes that other squads may be aboard. Those factors create several competing jobs: navigating the carrier, handling hostile ARC, keeping enough resources for the route, and responding to possible Raider encounters. A group may be able to divide attention across those jobs, while solo play puts them on one player. That is a practical decision framework, not a measured claim that squads always perform better.

  • Consider solo only if you are comfortable managing traversal and combat without help and can accept that the sources do not establish the run’s solo success rate.
  • Consider bringing a squad if you prefer additional players to help handle simultaneous demands. The sources do not identify a minimum, recommended, or maximum Frigate squad size.
  • Account for other Raiders either way. The community reference says other squads may also be aboard; it does not say how often they appear or whether encounters are guaranteed.

Do not read “experienced-player challenge” as a formal matchmaking tier or a precise promise about enemy strength. It is a qualitative description, not a published difficulty setting or scaling rule.

What to expect from the quest enemies

PC Gamer’s walkthrough says the Boarding the Frigate quest requires you to damage three named targets: a Rocketeer, a Vaporizer, and a Hydra turret. According to that guide, you do not need to land the killing blow; dealing damage is enough for the quest requirement. The guide describes the Rocketeer and Vaporizer as large flying ARC enemies and the Hydra as a dangerous multigun turret, which it reports encountering on the Frigate’s top level.

That information can help you understand what the quest asks for, but it does not establish enemy spawn timing, a guaranteed position for every target, or a complete route to them. In particular, the Hydra’s reported top-level location should be treated as the walkthrough’s observation, not a guarantee that every run will place it in exactly the same spot. If your objective is quest progress, check the quest’s current in-game wording and progress indicators rather than assuming a target’s defeat is required.

Navigation, equipment, and preparation

The walkthrough reports that switches and shooting yellow nodes can open new platforms. It also says a Grappling Hook can help skip some sections. These are route tips from a dated guide, not confirmation that every platform, switch, or traversal option behaves identically after later patches.

The same guide recommends carrying ample ammunition and healing, and says a Grappling or Snap Hook can be useful. That is advice, not a required loadout: the sources do not specify ammunition quantities, healing counts, a mandatory item, or a guaranteed best setup. Choose supplies around your own plan for fighting and moving through the event rather than treating the recommendation as a fixed build.

  1. Check the schedule before you queue. Confirm the Frigate is listed for the map, region, and time you intend to play. The official tracker’s schedule is live and can rotate.
  2. Review your objective. If you are pursuing Boarding the Frigate, note the three named targets and the guide’s report that damage, not the final blow, counts.
  3. Plan for both combat and movement. The route description includes ARC enemies, interior traversal, switches, and yellow nodes that may open platforms.
  4. Bring resources appropriate to your run. The walkthrough suggests ample ammunition and healing, and identifies Grappling or Snap Hooks as potentially useful. It does not provide a validated amount or mandatory item list.
  5. Expect uncertainty from other players. Other squads are described as possible, not certain; leave room in your plan for a player encounter without assuming one will occur.

What loot is on the Frigate?

The community reference characterizes the interior as containing rare tech, but the available sources do not provide an independently verified itemized loot table, exact drop rates, guaranteed containers, or a promise that a particular item will appear. “Rare tech” is a broad description, not a specific reward or expected value for a run.

That means it is not possible to answer “what will I get?” with a dependable list from these sources. If you are deciding whether to enter for a particular item, verify current in-game information before committing to the event. Do not treat a community summary’s mention of rare tech as evidence of guaranteed loot or a stable farming route.

How do you extract after boarding?

The reviewed information does not establish a Frigate-specific extraction procedure, whether reaching the carrier changes extraction choices, or whether the event adds or removes extraction points. Embark describes ARC Raiders generally as an extraction adventure in which players seek valuable loot, but that broad description does not answer what happens after boarding this particular event.

For that reason, do not assume that boarding itself extracts you, that the carrier has a special exit, or that ordinary map extraction rules are changed. The available evidence supports no Frigate-specific instruction beyond distinguishing the reported boarding route from the unresolved question of how to leave. Check current in-game information for the active build and map when planning your exit; no exact extraction route can be responsibly stated here.

What is confirmed—and what remains uncertain

The most useful distinction is between mechanics attributed to a dated walkthrough and event details that remain unestablished. PC Gamer’s October 8, 2026 guide reports the drone boarding sequence, quest targets, damage requirement, and navigation tips. Embark’s live tracker is the source for the changing map-condition schedule. The community reference supplies qualitative context about difficulty, potential other squads, and rare tech, but not quantified outcomes.

  • Supported by the walkthrough: the circular-drone route; the three quest targets; damage counting without the final blow; switches and yellow nodes opening platforms; and optional hook and supply advice.
  • Supported only as broad context: a challenging, experienced-player-oriented activity; possible other Raider squads; and rare tech described inside.
  • Not established: a precise difficulty rating; a required or ideal squad size; solo success rates; a confirmed loot table or drop rate; or Frigate-specific extraction behavior.

Because event timing and mechanics can change, use Embark’s live tracker for current availability and treat the October 2026 walkthrough as a dated route account rather than a permanent rulebook.
