Arabia Falcon Insurance’s profit after income tax for the first nine months was reported at about OMR 1 million, a 24% year-on-year decline. The company’s official nine-month 2026 filing is still needed to verify the exact amount, comparison period and the full breakdown of insurance and investment results.
What is known about the nine-month result
The reported headline points to profit after tax of approximately OMR 1 million for the nine months of 2026, versus a figure roughly 24% higher in the comparable period. Because the underlying nine-month filing was not available in the published materials reviewed for this report, the precise figure should be checked against Arabia Falcon Insurance’s announcement or the Muscat Stock Exchange disclosure before being used for investment decisions.
The latest directly reported nine-month comparison available from the company’s earlier results showed net income of OMR 1.26 million for the nine months of 2025, compared with OMR 1.15 million a year earlier. That 2025 comparison is a different reporting period from the 2026 headline and should not be treated as confirmation of the new nine-month numbers.

Medical-insurance exit reduced premium volume
In its first-half 2026 investor presentation, Arabia Falcon said gross written premium fell 8%. Management attributed the decrease primarily to the company’s decision to exit medical insurance. Leaving that line reduces premium volume immediately, although it can also change the insurer’s risk profile and the mix of claims it carries.

Investment income also declined
Investment income decreased 6% in the first half of 2026 to about OMR 1.3 million. For an insurer, investment returns supplement the underwriting result, so a decline in this income stream puts additional pressure on profit after tax when premium revenue is also lower.
First-half profit shows the scale of the decline
For the six months ended June 30, 2026, Chief Financial Officer Ahmad Al Tayeb’s investor-call presentation reported net profit after tax of about OMR 490,000, compared with almost OMR 1 million in the comparable first-half period. That result does not establish the nine-month total, but it shows that the earnings shortfall was already visible before the third quarter.
Operational indicators that improved
Motor production increased
Motor production rose 13% in the first half of 2026. “Production” refers to the business written during the period and is a measure of activity; it does not by itself determine profitability because claims, expenses and reinsurance costs also affect the result.
Motor loss ratio fell to 80%
The motor loss ratio improved from 89% at the end of the first quarter to 80% at June 30, 2026. A lower loss ratio generally means that a smaller share of motor premium is being consumed by claims. The improvement may help the technical result, but it was not sufficient, on the available first-half figures, to offset the lower premium volume and investment income.

How 2026 compares with the 2025 baseline
| Measure | Reported figure | Period and qualification |
|---|---|---|
| Net income | OMR 1.26 million | Nine months of 2025; compared with OMR 1.15 million in the nine months of 2024 |
| Net profit after tax | About OMR 490,000 | First half of 2026; compared with almost OMR 1 million in the first half of 2025 |
| Gross written premium | Down 8% | First half of 2026; management linked the change mainly to exiting medical insurance |
| Investment income | About OMR 1.3 million, down 6% | First half of 2026 |
| Motor production | Up 13% | First half of 2026 |
| Motor loss ratio | 80% | At June 30, 2026, down from 89% at the end of Q1 |
Arabia Falcon’s 2025 annual report provides a broader reference point: gross written premium was RO 33.2 million, insurance revenue was RO 25.5 million, investment income was RO 2.815 million and net profit was RO 2.277 million, up from RO 1.585 million in 2024. Annual figures cannot be substituted for the nine-month 2026 statement, but they show the scale of the business before the strategic change in medical insurance.
What to check when the official filing is released
- Confirm the exact net profit after tax. Check whether the published amount is rounded to OMR 1 million or reported more precisely, and verify the exact nine-month 2025 comparator used for the 24% calculation.
- Separate insurance performance from investments. Review insurance revenue, claims, expenses, reinsurance and the insurance-service result alongside investment income.
- Measure the medical exit’s effect. Compare gross written premium and product mix with the prior year to see how much of the decline came from discontinued medical business.
- Follow motor trends. Check whether the 80% motor loss ratio was sustained and whether higher motor production translated into a stronger underwriting contribution.
- Read the cash-flow and capital disclosures. Profit alone does not show liquidity, solvency or dividend capacity.
Investor takeaway
The available evidence supports a clear direction but not a complete nine-month diagnosis: Arabia Falcon’s earnings were weaker in 2026, while management cited the medical-insurance exit, lower gross written premium and a 6% decline in investment income as key first-half pressures. Motor activity and claims performance improved, with production up 13% and the loss ratio at 80%. The exact nine-month profit, insurance-service result and year-on-year bridge remain subject to confirmation in the company’s official filing.
