Apollo Neuro may help some people feel calmer in the moment, but the available evidence does not show that it reliably reduces everyday stress or treats a medical condition. The most directly relevant controlled study is a small stress-task experiment described by Apollo itself; much of the other evidence is observational or open-label.
What Apollo Neuro is and how it is supposed to work
Apollo Neuro is a wearable that delivers gentle vibration programs, which the company calls “Vibes.” Through its app, users can choose programs intended for relaxation, focus, energy, or sleep. Apollo says it can be worn on the wrist or ankle, or clipped to clothing. Apollo’s science page describes patterned touch as a signal of safety that may help the body shift out of a stress response. That is the manufacturer’s proposed explanation, not an established treatment mechanism.
Apollo’s use guidance says users can adjust a program’s intensity and duration. The company says some people notice subjective effects quickly, while consistent changes may take up to 30 days of regular use. It also describes effects as lasting 30 minutes to two hours and recommends daily use. These are company claims, not independent proof of benefit. Apollo says the device has not been tested during active physical exercise and does not recommend using it during activity. Apollo’s usage guidance explains its recommended use.

There is a favorable signal from a small controlled stress-task experiment, but the accessible account comes from Apollo rather than an independently verified report of the results. Apollo describes a double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled crossover experiment involving 38 healthy subjects who completed a stress-inducing cognitive task. In its summary, the company says participants receiving Apollo vibrations felt calmer, performed more accurately and efficiently, and showed an increase in heart-rate variability (HRV). It says the placebo and no-vibration groups reported stress and did not show the same HRV pattern. Apollo’s article summarizing the experiment is the source for those details.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
That experiment suggests a possible short-term effect under laboratory conditions; it does not establish lasting relief from ordinary daily stress, benefit for every user, or treatment of anxiety or another diagnosis. The study summary available from Apollo is not enough to treat its reported results as independently confirmed.
How to interpret Apollo’s other research and headline figures
Apollo’s research index includes studies with different designs. It lists a 985-person remote sleep study as observational, sponsored by Apollo, and in preprint status, along with smaller open-label evaluations. Observational and open-label results can point to questions worth studying, but they do not establish that the device caused an outcome. They also do not all answer the specific question of whether Apollo reduces stress. Apollo’s research index identifies the studies and their designs.
A separate manuscript published as a JMIR mHealth and uHealth preprint and accepted for publication in 2026 analyzed naturalistic data from 935 Apollo and Oura users between January 2019 and May 2022. It reports an association between nighttime vibration use and more sleep. Among short sleepers who used the device for at least 240 minutes at night, the analysis found 36 additional minutes of sleep; it also reported a 77% reduction in the odds of short sleep. These are observational sleep findings—not randomized estimates and not evidence of daytime stress relief. The JMIR manuscript describes the analysis and its preprint status.

Apollo’s official science pages also display figures of “up to 40%” less stress and feelings of anxiety, 46 more minutes of sleep a night on average, 25% more focus, and 11% higher HRV. The page does not pair each headline figure with a specific publication year, study, or population. Treat them as undated company-reported figures, not as a pooled independent estimate of what users should expect. Apollo’s science page displays these claims.
Is Apollo Neuro FDA approved?
No. Apollo describes the wearable as a consumer wellness device, not an FDA-approved treatment. Its Help Center says the device is intended to help manage stress and promote a healthy lifestyle, but is not intended to treat or cure medical conditions, is not a substitute for professional care, and has claims that have not been evaluated by the US Food and Drug Administration. Apollo’s FDA-status FAQ, updated August 6, 2025, provides that clarification. Do not rely on Apollo Neuro to diagnose or treat anxiety, PTSD, insomnia, or another medical condition.

Who might find it useful—and what to keep in mind
Apollo Neuro may be worth considering as a wellness aid if you are looking for a wearable tactile cue and understand that its stress-relief evidence remains limited. It is not a substitute for professional care when stress is persistent, severe, or affecting your health. The main practical questions are whether vibration feels comfortable, whether using the app and wearing the device fits your routine, and whether you notice a personally meaningful benefit over time.
