“Easy Anti-Cheat” is older support terminology: Apex Legends on PC moved to EA Javelin AntiCheat on September 29, 2026. If you are fixing an Apex anti-cheat error today, start with EA’s current Javelin instructions, then use the older Apex error-code page carefully for errors it still lists.
First, check which anti-cheat system and platform apply
The migration to Javelin arrived in an Apex update, and EA said PC players would be migrated automatically after launching the updated game. EA’s current Apex support context points to Javelin. Console anti-cheat is separate: EA says console protections continue through specialized data models and server-side detection, so these PC steps are not console troubleshooting instructions. EA’s September 24, 2026 announcement said Secure Boot was not required for Apex at the migration launch; that requirement can change, so check current guidance rather than applying advice for another EA game. Apex Legends support surfaces the migration information.
Start with the current Javelin troubleshooting sequence
- Restart Apex Legends. EA recommends a restart first for common Javelin errors.
- Match the displayed error to EA’s instructions. Open EA’s Javelin install and troubleshooting page and follow the steps for that exact code or message. Javelin errors can relate to corrupted files or conflicting background software, but the displayed code determines the relevant remedy.
- If the same error remains, use the code-specific action or contact support. Avoid broad fixes such as disabling all security software, changing BIOS settings, or removing unmentioned driver files; EA’s guidance calls for targeted steps, not those general interventions.
Repair files for integrity or launch failures
For an integrity or corrupted-file message, EA’s Apex error page directs EA app users to repair the installation. In the EA app, open Library, select Apex Legends, choose Manage, then Repair. Wait for the process to finish before launching the game again.

If you play through Steam, use Steam’s game-file repair or verification option. EA’s Apex error-code page also lists repairing EA app or Steam files for error 30005, which EA defines there as an Anti-Cheat launch failure. Understand the older EAC-specific 30005 instruction
EA’s Apex error-code guide still lists an older instruction for error 30005: delete a .sys file in C:Program Files (x86)EasyAntiCheat, then restart. That path explicitly names Easy Anti-Cheat, while Apex PC has since migrated to Javelin. The source does not establish that deleting this file is valid or effective for the post-migration Javelin build. Do not treat it as a confirmed current Javelin fix or remove files outside the exact EA instruction.

For a compatibility message, address only what it names
If Javelin identifies incompatible software, EA says that software is on a security denylist. Update the named program and restart the PC. If its updated version is still blocked, EA says it must be disabled to play. For an incompatible-driver message, update or disable the named driver and restart, following the error-specific instructions on EA’s Javelin troubleshooting page. Do not infer that all antivirus or security tools must be turned off from a message naming a particular application or driver.

Get help if the code-specific steps fail
For an error not covered by EA’s Apex code list, or one that persists after its recommended steps, the Apex error guide points to the EA Forums troubleshooting discussion. For continued Javelin problems, EA directs players to EA customer support. Include the exact displayed error and note whether you launch through the EA app or Steam so support can identify the relevant path.
