AOC has launched the AOC AGP277QKM, a 27-inch gaming monitor combining 2560×1440 resolution, a maximum 425Hz mode, a Fast IPS panel with quantum-dot enhancement and a 1,152-zone Mini LED backlight. AOC’s China product page describes it as an HDR1000 display; an independent IT之家 launch report identifies the same model and core specifications.
What makes the AGP277QKM different
The monitor targets competitive PC gaming without dropping to Full HD. Its 2560×1440 QHD panel provides more image detail than a 1920×1080 esports display, while the 425Hz mode is designed to reduce the time between rendered frames. The panel is Fast IPS, so it is intended to combine wide viewing angles with rapid pixel response. Quantum-dot (QD) technology expands the stated color gamut, and the Mini LED backlight adds local contrast that conventional edge-lit IPS monitors cannot provide.
The backlight has 1,152 independently controlled dimming zones. That is a full-array Mini LED design rather than a small number of edge-lighting zones, allowing bright highlights and darker areas to be controlled separately. AOC lists VESA DisplayHDR 1000 certification and a peak brightness claim of 1,200 cd/m².

Yes. AOC specifies 2560×1440 at up to 425Hz, but the 425Hz setting is an overclocked mode, not the panel’s ordinary base setting. AOC advises reducing the refresh rate if display errors occur. Stability can depend on the graphics card, cable, driver, input selection and whether Display Stream Compression (DSC) is available.

To use the maximum mode, select 2560×1440 and 425Hz in the operating system or graphics-driver display settings after connecting a suitable high-bandwidth cable. If the image flickers, loses signal or shows artifacts, step down to a lower refresh rate rather than treating the fault as a defective panel.

Connectivity and DSC requirements
The two HDMI 2.1 inputs and DisplayPort 2.1 input provide current-generation bandwidth options. AOC notes that some combinations of high refresh rate and high color depth over HDMI require a DSC-capable graphics card. In practice, the graphics card must support the chosen resolution, refresh rate and color format, and the cable must meet the relevant HDMI 2.1 or DisplayPort 2.1 specification.
Recommended Free Tools
- Use DisplayPort 2.1 when your graphics card and cable support it and you want a straightforward PC connection.
- Use HDMI 2.1 for compatible PCs or consoles, while checking the available refresh-rate and color-depth combinations.
- If 425Hz is unavailable, confirm that the monitor is set to its overclocked mode, the GPU driver is current and DSC is supported where AOC requires it.
Gaming and ergonomic features
Adaptive-Sync and FreeSync support are intended to match the display’s refresh timing to the GPU’s frame output. A low-input-lag mode, MBR motion-blur reduction, a frame-rate counter and game-specific controls are included for competitive play. Picture-by-picture (PBP) and picture-in-picture (PIP) modes allow multiple sources to share the screen.

The stand provides 150mm of height adjustment, tilt, swivel and pivot movement. A quick-release mechanism simplifies installation, while a retractable headphone hook keeps a headset off the desk. The 100×100mm VESA pattern supports a monitor arm, provided the arm’s rated load capacity covers the assembled monitor.
Who should consider it?
Competitive PC players
The combination of QHD detail and a 425Hz ceiling is aimed at players whose system can render very high frame rates in esports titles. A 425Hz monitor cannot create extra frames that the GPU does not render, so the benefit is greatest with a powerful graphics card and games that sustain high frame rates.

HDR and mixed-use buyers
The 1,152-zone Mini LED backlight, DisplayHDR 1000 certification and wide-gamut claims make the AGP277QKM more versatile than a basic high-refresh esports panel. Local dimming can improve HDR contrast, although the visible result still depends on game or video mastering and the monitor’s dimming behavior.
Users who need maximum refresh above all else
Because 425Hz is overclocked, buyers who value plug-and-play stability may prefer running a lower refresh rate if their system or cable produces errors. The monitor remains a QHD high-refresh display even when operated below its maximum setting.

Price and release timing
The available product information confirms the model and specifications but does not establish a retail price, Amazon inventory, worldwide release date or availability outside the launch market. Check AOC’s regional product pages and authorized retailers for local stock, warranty terms, pricing and the refresh-rate modes enabled in that region before ordering.
What to verify before buying
- Confirm that your GPU can drive QHD at the frame rates you expect.
- Check whether your GPU output supports the required HDMI 2.1 or DisplayPort 2.1 bandwidth and DSC combination.
- Use a certified, appropriate high-bandwidth cable and test 425Hz before tuning game settings.
- Plan desk space for the stand or verify the load rating of a 100×100mm VESA arm.
- Review regional warranty coverage and retailer return terms because availability and specifications can differ by market.
The Bottom Line
The AGON AGP277QKM is a genuine 27-inch QHD gaming monitor with a distinctive specification: 425Hz overclocked refresh, QD-enhanced Fast IPS and 1,152-zone Mini LED HDR. Its practical appeal depends on a GPU, cable and DSC-capable connection that can sustain the target mode; price and worldwide availability remain unconfirmed.
