The AOC AGON PRO AGP277QKDC’s headline 720Hz mode requires a steep resolution trade-off: it runs at 1280×720, while the monitor’s native 2560×1440 mode reaches 540Hz. For most players, the sharper QHD mode is the more practical choice; 720Hz is a specialist option for competitive gaming where maximum refresh matters more than image detail.
What the AOC AGON PRO AGP277QKDC offers
This 26.5-inch, flat 16:9 monitor uses a fourth-generation WOLED panel. AOC lists a native resolution of 2560×1440, or QHD, with a pixel density of 110.9 pixels per inch. Its Dual Frame Mode lets users choose between QHD at up to 540Hz and 1280×720 at up to 720Hz. AOC also lists a 0.03ms GtG response time; that is a manufacturer specification, not a guarantee of identical results in every use case.
The two modes are not simply different refresh-rate settings at the same image quality. 720p contains about one quarter as many pixels as QHD, so the faster mode gives up substantial detail. In Samuel Willetts’s Club386 review, the 720p image looked rough on a screen this size, while QHD at 540Hz was the more compelling mode for general use. The review rated the monitor “Club386 Recommended.” Read the Club386 review.

Choose the 720Hz mode only if your priority is the highest available refresh rate and you are comfortable with a visibly less detailed image. It is best understood as an optional competitive-gaming mode, not an across-the-board upgrade over QHD at 540Hz.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
- QHD at up to 540Hz: The stronger all-purpose choice for players who want very high refresh without giving up the monitor’s native resolution. It is also the mode Club386’s reviewer favored in most cases.
- 720p at up to 720Hz: A motion-priority option for esports players willing to accept softer, rougher-looking detail on a 26.5-inch panel.
The monitor’s appeal is consequently specific: it combines a very high QHD refresh rate with an even faster lower-resolution mode. If a larger, sharper 4K image matters more to you than competitive refresh rates, the review suggests looking beyond this monitor’s priorities.

| Review setting or measurement | Club386 result |
|---|---|
| SDR peak at 70% brightness, the review’s default setting | 272 nits |
| SDR peak at 100% brightness | 404 nits |
| Maximum with UniformBrightness enabled | 382 nits |
| Average Delta E, default setting | 2.06 |
| Average Delta E, UniformBrightness enabled | 1.06 |
| Measured luminance uniformity deviation | Up to 3% |
| Measured colour-uniformity deviation | Up to 6.0 Delta E |
UniformBrightness improved the review’s average Delta E result but reduced its measured maximum brightness. The test also found middling colour uniformity and minor text fringing—useful caveats if you plan to use the display for colour-sensitive work or spend long periods reading text.

AOC’s own specifications list SDR brightness of 335 nits at 100% APL, 600 nits at 10% APL, and 1,500 nits at 1.5% APL. Those figures describe different image-area conditions; the 1,500-nit small-area peak should not be read as full-screen brightness. See AOC’s product specifications.

Price, warranty and who should buy it
Club386 listed a UK price of £799 in its review published on 19 August 2026. That is dated UK review context, not a current quote or a price for other regions. Check local pricing before buying. The review compared the monitor with options spanning similarly priced high-refresh OLED displays and less expensive, lower-refresh models; those comparisons reflect the market at review time, not verified current offers.
