Anthropic’s Code Review for Claude Code is generally available as of October 15, 2026, for organizations on Claude Team and Claude Enterprise. After an administrator enables it and connects the Claude GitHub App, selected repositories can receive automated reviews on pull requests.
The service is designed to find correctness problems that a quick human pass can miss, while leaving approval and merge decisions to the existing engineering team.
What changed with general availability
Code Review has moved out of research preview and into general availability for Claude Team and Enterprise organizations. The feature is enabled at the organization level, then configured for individual repositories. New pull requests can be reviewed automatically according to the trigger an administrator selects.
Anthropic says most reviews now complete in roughly 6–10 minutes, compared with about 20 minutes during the preview period—approximately three times faster. Review depth is configurable per repository:
#1 Best Overall
- Quick: a lighter review pass.
- Standard: the default depth.
- Deep: the most thorough available pass.
Anthropic characterizes the product as a team of agents working on every pull request “to catch the bugs that skims miss, built for depth, not speed.”
How Claude Code Review analyzes a pull request
The service sends multiple specialized agents through the pull-request diff and the surrounding codebase in parallel. A separate verification stage checks candidate findings against the actual behavior of the code, which is intended to reduce false positives. Findings are then deduplicated and ranked by severity.
Results appear as a summary and as inline comments attached to the relevant lines. The default review emphasizes issues that could affect production, including:
The Tool Desk
Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →- Logic errors
- Security vulnerabilities
- Broken edge cases
- Regressions
Repository-specific rules can extend those checks. Add general project instructions to CLAUDE.md and review-specific rules to a root-level REVIEW.md. Those files add criteria; they do not replace the default correctness review.

How to enable automatic reviews
An organization owner or primary owner must perform the initial setup and have permission to install GitHub Apps.
- Open the Claude Code settings for the Claude Team or Enterprise organization.
- Enable Code Review.
- Install the Claude GitHub App using an account authorized to install GitHub Apps.
- Select the repositories that Code Review may inspect.
- Choose a review depth—Quick, Standard, or Deep—for each repository.
- Choose when reviews run: once after pull-request creation, after every push, or manually from a top-level
@claude reviewcomment.
Draft pull requests are not reviewed. For a manual review, the comment must be posted at the top level of the pull request rather than as an inline comment.

GitHub hosting support
The setup documentation supports repositories on standard github.com and provides a separate setup flow for self-hosted GitHub Enterprise Server. GitHub Enterprise Cloud data-residency tenants using *.ghe.com are not supported according to the documented setup requirements.

Cost, credits and timing
Code Review usage is billed separately through usage credits. Anthropic’s setup guide gives an average of $15–$25 per review (Anthropic, 2026). That is an average, not a fixed price: the actual amount varies with pull-request size, codebase complexity and the amount of verification work required.
Best Value
| Item | Published detail | Qualification |
|---|---|---|
| Typical review time | About 6–10 minutes | Anthropic’s general-availability announcement; most reviews, not a guaranteed service-level time |
| Preview-era review time | About 20 minutes | Comparison figure cited by Anthropic |
| Average cost | $15–$25 per review | Anthropic setup guide, 2026; varies by change size, complexity and verification |
| Enterprise credit offer | At least $10,000 in Code Review credits | Eligible Claude Enterprise organizations may claim by January 15, 2027; claimed credits expire 30 days after claim |
The credit offer is limited by eligibility and deadlines, so administrators should confirm the current terms in their organization’s console before relying on it for a budget forecast.

Anthropic reported the following results from its own internal use during the preview. They are company-reported figures, not an independent benchmark or independently verified customer study.
| Measure | Reported result |
|---|---|
| Code output per Anthropic engineer | Increased 200% (Anthropic, 2026) |
| Pull requests with substantive review comments | 16% before Code Review versus 54% after adoption (Anthropic, 2026) |
| Pull requests over 1,000 changed lines with findings | 84% |
| Pull requests under 50 changed lines with findings | 31% |
| Average issues on large pull requests | 7.5 |
| Average issues on small pull requests | 0.5 |
| Findings marked incorrect | Less than 1% |
The size split is a practical signal: large changes produced findings far more often than very small changes in Anthropic’s internal data. It should not be treated as a prediction for every language, repository or team.
Where Code Review fits in a pull-request workflow
Code Review posts findings but does not approve or block pull requests. Branch protections, required reviewers, tests and merge policies therefore remain responsible for enforcing the organization’s release process.
- Use the after-creation trigger when you want an early baseline review and do not need a new pass for every update.
- Use the after-every-push trigger when amended commits should be checked continuously; this can consume more credits on frequently updated pull requests.
- Use the manual comment trigger when teams want developers to request reviews selectively.
- Choose Standard first when you need the documented default, then adjust repository depth after observing review time and credit consumption.
- Keep human review for product intent, architecture, maintainability and decisions that automated correctness checks cannot establish.
Bottom line for teams evaluating the feature
Claude Code Review is now a production-available, GitHub-integrated review service for Claude Team and Enterprise organizations. Its main changes at launch are broader availability, faster reported turnaround, configurable depth and automatic repository triggers. Plan for usage-credit costs, confirm GitHub hosting compatibility, and treat its comments as an additional correctness signal—not as an approval gate or a replacement for human code ownership.
