Anne Hathaway identified PURE MAMA Belly & Body Oil as the oil in her three-step pregnancy bump routine, calling it a “game-changer.” The product is sold through Pure Mama and selected retailers, but a current Amazon listing, seller, ASIN, and affiliate offer were not verified. Treat any Amazon result as something to check at the time you shop rather than as confirmed availability.
Which pregnancy body oil did Anne Hathaway name?
Hathaway named PURE MAMA Belly & Body Oil, made by the New Zealand-founded pregnancy-skincare brand PURE MAMA. In an Allure interview with Dakota Johnson, she said: “So, I have a three-step bump routine. And it’s an oil by PURE MAMA. And that seems to have been a game-changer.” Her comment was a personal account of her routine, not a clinical endorsement or a promise that the oil will work the same way for every pregnant person.
Pure Mama describes the product as a pregnancy belly oil for skin that is stretching during pregnancy. The brand says its purpose is to nourish skin and support hydration and elasticity, and lists sweet almond, rosehip and jojoba oils among the natural and organic oils in the formula.

What the oil is intended to do
Hydration and comfort
The product is marketed for moisturizing changing skin. Keeping skin hydrated can improve how dry or tight it feels, but a topical oil cannot guarantee that stretch marks will be prevented or removed.

Pure Mama publishes results it attributes to independent clinical testing. The underlying study report was not located, so these numbers should be read as manufacturer-reported claims, not independently verified medical evidence.

These figures do not establish that the oil prevents stretch marks, treats a medical condition or produces the same result for every pregnancy. Stretch marks are influenced by genetics, skin properties and the degree of stretching, among other factors.

Price and where it is sold
7NEWS reported an Australian price of A$69 in 2026. The same report named MECCA, The Memo and Pure Mama as Australian sellers. It also listed US retail partners including goop, Erewhon, Credo, Nordstrom, Revolve and Anthropologie. Prices, stock and regional availability can change, so confirm the currency and seller before ordering.

Coverage also reported a sharp increase in interest after Hathaway’s comment: 7NEWS said searches rose by 650%, while the World Health Organization (WHO) reported a 650% increase in website visits based on information from Pure Mama. Those are traffic and search figures, not evidence of product effectiveness.

- The seller and “sold by” information identify a source you can verify.
- The bottle size, ingredient panel, seal and expiration or batch information match the manufacturer’s current details.
- The price and delivery region are clear, since marketplace prices can differ from the reported Australian A$69 price.
A listing appearing in search results is not, by itself, confirmation that it is supplied by Pure Mama or an authorized retailer. When authenticity or storage conditions are unclear, buying directly from Pure Mama or a listed retail partner may be easier to verify.
How to use a pregnancy body oil responsibly
- Read the current label and ingredient list before the first application.
- Patch-test a small area, especially if your skin is sensitive or you have plant-oil allergies.
- Apply to clean, slightly damp skin if that texture feels comfortable, and stop if burning, swelling or a rash develops.
- Ask your obstetrician, midwife or dermatologist about any ingredient you are unsure about, particularly if you have eczema, allergy history or a complicated pregnancy.
Body oil is a cosmetic moisturizer, not a substitute for medical care. Seek professional advice for persistent itching, pain, rash or sudden skin changes.

What Hathaway’s comment does—and does not—mean
Her statement identifies the product she used and explains why interest spiked. It does not prove that the oil caused a particular skin outcome, that it prevents stretch marks, or that it is suitable for every pregnancy. The most defensible takeaway is narrower: PURE MAMA Belly & Body Oil is the product Hathaway named, and the brand markets it for moisturizing and conditioning stretching skin.
